Really good to see your tomato seedlings. What soil/fertilizer did you use? I used the bagged seed starter stuff from Home Depot and my seedlings do not look half as robust as yours.
Thanks. I am curious what you used-- Sunshine Grow Mix #4? Ferry Morse seed starter? ProMix? I started my tomatoes with Sunshine Grow Mix #4 and some coir. I fed the plants (weekly) with a water soluble fertilizer (MaxSea.) Many water soluble fertilizers will work; follow the directions for mixing and feeding. When it was warm enough for them to grow outside, I potted them up using real soil. Real soil has nutrients in it. Very likely, your seed starting medium is in need of fertilizer.
@@neverenoughdirt Jiffy brand, bought because it said organic :D I started my tomato seeds on January 19. Kept them on a heat mat indoors until they got their second set of leaves before up-potting, using the same starter mix. I am under the impression that they shouldn't be fertilized as it would burn the young roots. And there's the risk of fungus in "real" soil. But I've never tried to do either of these things so maybe I should take your advice. Thank you for sharing your insights!
@@schmeebot7903Jiffy, gotcha. Until I make a dedicated video on how I start my seedlings, follow best practices out there :) But yeah, I keep my seedlings in a hydroponic state (peat and liquid feeding) when they are indoors-- to avoid fungus gnats, etc. When it is time for them to grow outside, I up-pot to soil.
Everything looks beautiful!
Thank you! We're rolling!
Good tour as usual.
Thank you, sir.
Looking good!
Thanks!
Excellent tour friend! Oh man I forgot to plant asters lol 😊
Thanks. There's still time! 😄
