How's that ole red clay pack? Looks like it would pack pretty damn good. Probably don't ever have to add much water when packing it do you? I'm from Western Nebraska where the dirts dry as hell and were always watering and rippin the ground to try and get our moisture for our compaction tests to pass.
What did you do with all the topsoil? Did you also strip the topsoil where the 6 ft of fill was placed? Just curious and learning.....Love all your vids by the way...Great operator
Just curious Chris, when you dug the borrow pit, is there a use for it after you excavate it, detention pond, trash pit, etc. Was that a customer request?
soldierofdirt81 no not really but we did not want to cut the pad down anymore because it would create more of a hole for it to sit in. we have already cut it down 2'+ and it was just going to make access for the horses more difficult near the barn
nice job Chris, wow you ended up doing a lot of fill
really interesting this is what i build here in the uk. you guys build in a completely different way :)
Nice work fleets looking good to looks like it's growing

it was the cheapest way to get dirt, lady had no problem with it. I buried all the trees and then cut down the ground around it to make it blend in
Interesting, also I guess less time and man hours involved than to lower your pad elevation down.

What's the machine called that packs the ground
They're building a 74x144ft arena at the place where I have my horse so I'm really interested to see this building go up.
