It's BLM land and in San Diego (so weather not an issue) you can literally go out anytime you want any time of year unless there's an active brush fire in the area or something of that nature.
My only issue is the entrance at Pio Pico is kinda grown in with brush. Barely got my Ranger past it. I wanted to bring my RAM Rebel, but it's a rather wide truck, I don't want to get it pinstriped. I thought about going from the East entrance near the firearms range, but most traffic goes from Pio Pico to East and I don't want to run opposite on a tight trail with a huge truck. Maybe I'll bring my weed wacker?
@@OverlandBrigade Yes, just today in fact, I was there at the Pio Pico gate and closed up at the East entrance near the gun range. About 14 miles, lots of fun, not a lot of traffic early in the morning. I think I'll stick with my little Ranger out there, a lot of tight areas I'll be afraid of taking my big Ram through.
Perfect drving#
I saw your land cruiser parked downtown. Great content! I was just at Otay with some friends maybe we’ll bump into ya

Cant wait for these days to be back again! Great video.
It's still open, even now, due to the fact it's a active Border Patrol site.

Went out this weekend and had a blast. Perfect weather and the trail was essentially empty except for some dirt bike riders.
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope to catch you on the trails!
