It's astonishing that out of the 180 countries in the world, and it's the BBC that seem to be the only broadcaster that was able to produce plays of this quality and technical excellence. We're so fortunate that so many have survived and are available on RUclips.

As much as i love BBC radio dramas, we have an abundance of them in our Polish radio stations, equal quality and “feel”. Probably they used to copy the old British standrads, but passed this woth flying colours. Good to have two language options! 🙂

I listened to this months ago but couldn't resist coming back for more. It didn't disappoint, second time around.
A superb quality cast, a good plot and nicely paced. If you work out the suspect early on it doesn't spoil the story, as it isn't a simple whodunit, it's about character and motivation.
My favourite character was Jenny, a beacon of honesty and openness in a pool of deceit. The range of subtle emotion in her voice was fantastic, especially as Anna Michaels's usual work at the time was lightweight comedy.
Len and Lucy Culpin were both beautifully played - difficult parts to pull off, as both characters were emotionally overwrought throughout. Playing a dislikeable character always requires extra skill.
Thank you again for giving us access to these precious resources from a time when BBC money was no object when a good drama was concerned!

I was brought up with Radio before pictures , when one had to listen and use ones imagination to fill in the blanks , which gave each set of ears , an indivdualised story , though still basically the same , from the players lines off the script .
Listening to these , I can sense the senior - passed into spirit - relatives about me , listening .
I wouldn't be surprised were others of those generations present . ❤️👍🙂
Listening to "Unquiet Conciousness" , a steady stream of faces belonging to Unquiet Conciousness, from my life over the last 20 years , passed by seems some sort of contact was made with known Unquiet Conciousness , 🙂 , upsetting them a little , 😄😆😃
Thank you for uploading and sharing this play , it's one of very few that get listed on my channel .

Another one of those dramas featuring a murder - of a teenage girl and a wrongful conviction of a teenage boy - in a small town or village where certain people knew a heck of a lot more than they revealed to the Police at the time. A writer, played by Tony Britton, picking up the trail of now deceased fellow writer, seeks to complete the investigation with help from some and hindrance from others, including the Police. Victim or not? Short skirts and the like? A man’s eye, and often I’ll intent can lead to bad outcomes…

Jenny needs to move out of this town. 😂 This town is way too small for her. Needs to find her bigger better self. 🤣
Still my favorite character for her honesty.

Another great radio play. I enjoyed this, though I thought the author in the play got a little bit creepy with one of the young girls!! Does the BBC not do these any longer? All the plays we see on You Tube are rather old, so I guess they don't? It is a shame that there's a lot of background noise with most of the plays that I've listened to. I'm assuming there is a reason for that? Some of them I start listening to, and then I have to stop because the background noise hissing and bubbling is too intrusive and I can't hear what's being said properly.

It’s a good play. But why must detective stories have a surprising ending? Sometimes I feel a story that well researched and built up a criminal character would be very interesting.
