The documentary, Muscle Shoals, is well worth a watch. It goes deep into the story of Rick Hall, The Swampers, FAME Studios & the fallout between Rick & Jerry Wexler and Rick & The Swampers (and ultimately their “reunion”). Highly recommend.

Jordan, thanks for this! It is only about 90 minutes drive from where I am, I will go in and see it sometime, because I would want to know more about the acoustics of the rooms and how exactly it all worked. There is a photo of the studio at the airport there, but it looked like it was taken in the late 70s. So when I drove past it after seeing the photo, I was shocked how developed it was around it.
