I have chosen Huawei. and very satisfied. I think huawei GT 3 is the best android smartwatch. If your arms are large (mine fit at 40") you can choose GT 3 Pro or GT 4
apple watch.. upto 18hrs battery life.. so i need to strap a power bank to my arm too. im using huawei gt 2 pro.. i never worry about power.. long life and super quick charging.
This comparison literally killed the Apple watch. Wow. Very exiting, because I'm owning both my cell-phone and smartwatch from Huawei, my daughter got Apple products only. I didn't expect, the Huawei is so far ahead!
The Huawei Watch is several tiers below the Apple Watch in functionality, anyone who thinks otherwise has never actually owned an Apple Watch. Huawei’s health tracking is abysmal, it has basically zero real app integration, as I said, it’s not even competing with the GW4, let alone anything in the Apple Watch series.

I have Apple Watch 7 and 18hrs is a myth. In my use i can pull off more than 24hrs, around 1,5 day. Maybe its not 2 weeks but it charges so fast i dont even notice it but in terms of features its night and day. Apple Watch is just so much better and accurate I cant imagine wearing anything else.
I I have them both and for the Huawei GT 3 Pro with the charger I paid 364,- and for the Apple Watch 7 with charger 805,-. Apple is heavily overpaid. I am an iPhone owner but my choice goes to the Huawei. I downloaded and installed the Huawei app on the iPhone and it works perfectly.
I bought the apple watch when they first came out. Another gadget to constantly charge on a daily basis, constantly forgetting the cable when on short trips where it was difficult to borrow from anyone. After a month, it wasn't worth the hassle and just left it in the drawer where it's bricked up. Been using cheap smartbands from Xiaomi etc. where battery last for 2-3weeks which is perfect for me, since I don't have to worry about constant charging.
Just bought the GT 3 two days ago and I was very surprised that when I put the watch on in the morning at 7:00 a.m. it had 87% battery life and when I checked around 7:00 p.m. it had 83% ??? I do recommend
I have the HUAWEI GT 2 Pro is being 14 days today I still had 10% battery 🔋 until I fully charged it is brilliant 46 mm Oled had screen protected by Sapphire glass front Titanium body with a ceramic back is got great health sensors it really looks nice & great built quality I use it with my Samsung S21 Ultra perfect.
I wished the menu was a bit smoother to navigate. I witched it was possible to mute the announcements during workout, and be able to go to the main watch face during the workouts. Maybe these will be addressed in Harmony OS, if GT 2 Pro gets that as well, as I heard it will. Also, the brightness could be better in full daylight. I love my GT 2 Pro, but I can’t get over these limitations.
Bought this before i watched the reviews. I do have some gripes about the watch 1. Not compatible with spotify 2. Voice assistance not compatible with my android phone. 3. Companion app for google maps doesn't work all the time. 4. 3rd party apps for watch faces do not support harmony OS I really wanted to buy this expecting to have seamless compatibility but seems like you can only fully maximize the watch if you have a huawei phone. Huawei should try to fix this
I own a huawei gt 2 and totally love it but since I had a little bit extra money I decided to spend it on the Apple Watch 7 and let me tell you, I was blown away by how smooth the applications work, also something he doesn’t mention here is that the Apple Watch has so many Apps to choose from while the Huawei lacks many.. that was the selling point for me and I ended up getting rid of the Huawei watch
I hear what your saying. It all depends on what you want a watch for. Plenty of apps are available on your phone and you may find that you don't use the watch for apps as the phone is easier to use and has a bigger screen. I have the Galaxy Watch 3 lte, but went out and got a Huawei GT3, which I prefer due to better fitness tracking and a long battery life. Apps on a watch in my opinion is more of a gimmick although nice to have.
@@simdencard i don’t use a lot of third party apps on my Apple Watch but I think there are some apps that is still a necessity when picking a smart watch for each individual use case. For me, I need to have Spotify for Apple Watch which correct me if I am wrong it is lacking on Huawei watches. I go for jogs without my phone and only a cellular Apple Watch every night for 30 mins. I like to be able to listen to music without having to download the mp3 files and transfer to my watch. I subscribe to Spotify for a reason. Same reason for Streamlets for Apple Watch if I am feeling like listening to the live radio stations instead of Spotify.

I don’t understand what the issue is with having to charge the watch every evening. It’s not like you have to generate your own energy by running on a treadmill. Every evening I put my phone on the wireless charger, take off my watch and put it also on the wireless charger. Done. In the morning both have 100% battery. I control my lights, my home, my car with my Apple watch. I can make payment in every store with it, check in my flight at the airport, and so much more. No other watch can do that. The only thing the Huawei has going for it is that it looks beautiful, much nicer than the apple watch for the rest it’s too limited to call it a smartwatch in 2022.
I bought GT2 Pro 1 year ago and I am very satisfied with it, especially the battery life, it will give me 13 days of battery life with regular exercise, using the exercise app. Now I am planning to buy the GT3 or GT3 Pro and will get rid of my 3 Swatch watches and 4 G-Shocks (Except for my GPW-2000), they're quite obsolete for me. I barely wear all of my other watches because of the GT2 Pro, I love to wear it every day and I would definitely buy this one. I think I will sell my Swatch and G-Shock for a bargain...

The fitness metrics are a lot better on the Huawei GT2 and GT3 in comparison to the Apple Watch, but apple has good smart watch apps as well as accurate heart rate tracking. The new Huawei GT3 claims to now have better heart rate tracking than the Apple Watch. 😮

What apps? gt3 supports zero apps. That's why I call it semi-smart watch. You don't have any 3rd party apps on him, you can only see notifications and not really interact with the app that generated the notification.

I have an apple watch and I can’t definitely say that its battery life does not last for only 18 hours. With all its function turned on it can last for at least 1 and half days. Besides if you are in an apple environment the best smartwatch you can have is the apple watch and if you are on the android platform of course, the best watch for you are those that can cater the best possible functions of an android phone like huawei gt watches.

As for me it doesn’t matter if it only last for 1 and half day and have to charge every now then since I can just slap another apple watch or other smart watch as I charge the other. Yes, this review is only a run through of specs and not real life experience. Also, should discuss apps. Feedback that follows helps. People know Huawei is lovely watch but the OS is very limiting. It really is just a watch. Apple is far superior given the apps. And GT3 is nice to look at.

I have the GT 2 Pro and styling plus build quality for the price is top notch. Real life use versus a run through of specs is quite different though. Turn on all day for watch face and battery will last 3-4 days. Go back to factory setting and battery life is about 7 days. So that is real. Of course Apple Watch cannot equal this and that is its big fail. Software for Apple and apps available is way superior. And for some that will count. Huawei and their own OS is not open although I understand developers can build apps for this system. Huawei should open up to using OS Wear 3. Or an equivalent. Until then, you realise it is difficult to get watch faces that are important to make your watch unique. Still, I do love the GT 2 Pro but wish it could load other apps available for OS Wear. Just one example, I cannot use to help with Golf. Yet there are great GPS golf apps for OS Wear.
The Gt 3 is one good looking watch. I bought it because of the battery life. charging it every 2 weeks is awesome while an apple watch every day or less. Honestly it is just a waste of time for me. The Gt 3 also gives that classic luxurious look some were even surprised it is a smart watch and I can wear it in formal gatherings too.

I think for the basics the Huawei does the job very good,better than Apple,but the app choice and integration is not on the same level as Apple,but the price is more important factor for me and it will still work with an IPhone so that’s great.

Inferior is a wrong word. It is inferior due to this country cannot afford it. In other countries it’s different story where mine Apple Watch series 7 is given as a free gift for buying a new phone. Series 7 lose out in battery but feature wise it’s different story. Apple Watch is a smart watch Huawei is a sports watch.

Was considering HW GT2 before but bought Amazfit instead, and recently swap to APW7 , I missed the long battery life, but as I now run full Apple ecosystem APW7 is much more convenient for me.
I wanted to know how quick it is to respond to wrist tilting to show the watch, how easy or how many watch faces there are to choose from and if you can make your own, how many third party apps there are, if there are any features locked out if you use it on non-Huawei smartphones like with Galaxy Watch, disappointing really.

I have both, the Apple Watch is the best watch by far but does have 1 big issue which is the battery life, there the GT3 win hands down. The reviewer misses all the features the Apple Watch has that the GT3 doesn’t and has only compared where the GT3 and Apple Watch have the same functions. Being able to pay for things with the Apple Watch or enter the underground etc with the touch capability, when using maps the watch lets you know distance to next turn etc, I can adjust my home heating set point, turn lights on/off, answer phone calls, respond to text messages, the list goes on and on. I really like my GT3 that’s why I have it, I change my watch dependent on what I’m doing, if I’m going hiking for a few days it’s the GT3, if I’m just around the home or at work it’s the Apple Watch. The GT3 is better looking than the Apple Watch, I think so anyway. Hence the Apple Watch for all its other features is worth being twice the price and that’s my view, but I love my GT3 as well.
I have the Huawei watch 3 Pro I had the watch GT2 Pro before I got the Huawei watch 3 Pro, I like having the ability of having an E Sim as when I go out on My bike, I normally leave my bike at home so I'm not at risk of it getting damaged as it has nearly fallen out of My Cycling jersey pocket before so having the E Sim active in my watch means I can make a call directly from it
You didn’t answer any of the important things for consumers. The Apple Watch can take and make calls. Pretty much everything you can do on your phone you can do on your watch. Can you make and take calls on the HUAWEi? Can you read and respond to emails, texts, messages? I’m looking for a non Apple Watch for my husband. I got him the Versa 3 and it does a few of the things but you can’t make calls or read email and it doesn’t have google pay
I found out Huawei watches functions basically only works with Huawei phones. After changing from Huawei to Xiaomi phone, there some functionare missing from the watch even though i dwld the Huawei Health app on my new Xiaomi phone.
i own a Huawei band 6 and a non Huawei phone everything works fine, the only missing feature is the remote camera controller it doesn't even appears on the watch ui. so i expect the same thing with this smartwatch

No, the problem is that the Huawei is not a smartwatch so the only advantage on tge Huawei in my opinion is design and battery life

For me 1 and a half days is abysmal and absolutely no go. I am in an apple environment and had the GT1, worked flawlessly.

I have the GT 2 Pro and styling plus build quality for the price is top notch. Real life use versus a run through of specs is quite different though. Turn on all day for watch face and battery will last 3-4 days. Go back to factory setting and battery life is about 7 days. So that is real. Of course Apple Watch cannot equal this and that is its big fail. Software for Apple and apps available is way superior. And for some that will count. Huawei and their own OS is not open although I understand developers can build apps for this system. Huawei should open up to using OS Wear 3. Or an equivalent. Until then, you realise it is difficult to get watch faces that are important to make your watch unique. Still, I do love the GT 2 Pro but wish it could load other apps available for OS Wear. Just one example, I cannot use to help with Golf. Yet there are great GPS golf apps for OS Wear.
The Gt 3 is one good looking watch. I bought it because of the battery life. charging it every 2 weeks is awesome while an apple watch every day or less. Honestly it is just a waste of time for me. The Gt 3 also gives that classic luxurious look some were even surprised it is a smart watch and I can wear it in formal gatherings too.

I think for the basics the Huawei does the job very good,better than Apple,but the app choice and integration is not on the same level as Apple,but the price is more important factor for me and it will still work with an IPhone so that’s great.

Great review as usual! Hey, Lim, does the GT3 heart monitoring mode setting allow you to choose Smart or Realtime mode? My Huawei Band 6 locks it to only Smart mode. I much prefer Realtime. Thanks.

Inferior is a wrong word. It is inferior due to this country cannot afford it. In other countries it’s different story where mine Apple Watch series 7 is given as a free gift for buying a new phone. Series 7 lose out in battery but feature wise it’s different story. Apple Watch is a smart watch Huawei is a sports watch.

Was considering HW GT2 before but bought Amazfit instead, and recently swap to APW7 , I missed the long battery life, but as I now run full Apple ecosystem APW7 is much more convenient for me.

I wanted to know how quick it is to respond to wrist tilting to show the watch, how easy or how many watch faces there are to choose from and if you can make your own, how many third party apps there are, if there are any features locked out if you use it on non-Huawei smartphones like with Galaxy Watch, disappointing really.

I have both, the Apple Watch is the best watch by far but does have 1 big issue which is the battery life, there the GT3 win hands down.
The reviewer misses all the features the Apple Watch has that the GT3 doesn’t and has only compared where the GT3 and Apple Watch have the same functions. Being able to pay for things with the Apple Watch or enter the underground etc with the touch capability, when using maps the watch lets you know distance to next turn etc, I can adjust my home heating set point, turn lights on/off, answer phone calls, respond to text messages, the list goes on and on.
I really like my GT3 that’s why I have it, I change my watch dependent on what I’m doing, if I’m going hiking for a few days it’s the GT3, if I’m just around the home or at work it’s the Apple Watch. The GT3 is better looking than the Apple Watch, I think so anyway.
Hence the Apple Watch for all its other features is worth being twice the price and that’s my view, but I love my GT3 as well.

I have the Huawei watch 3 Pro I had the watch GT2 Pro before I got the Huawei watch 3 Pro, I like having the ability of having an E Sim as when I go out on My bike, I normally leave my bike at home so I'm not at risk of it getting damaged as it has nearly fallen out of My Cycling jersey pocket before so having the E Sim active in my watch means I can make a call directly from it

HUAWEI GT3 looks better and doesn't feel as cheap as the Amazfit GTR Pro, has better fitness tracking in my opinion and longer battery life.
You didn’t answer any of the important things for consumers. The Apple Watch can take and make calls. Pretty much everything you can do on your phone you can do on your watch. Can you make and take calls on the HUAWEi? Can you read and respond to emails, texts, messages? I’m looking for a non Apple Watch for my husband. I got him the Versa 3 and it does a few of the things but you can’t make calls or read email and it doesn’t have google pay

I found out Huawei watches functions basically only works with Huawei phones.
After changing from Huawei to Xiaomi phone, there some functionare missing from the watch even though i dwld the Huawei Health app on my new Xiaomi phone.

i own a Huawei band 6 and a non Huawei phone everything works fine, the only missing feature is the remote camera controller it doesn't even appears on the watch ui.

42mm has smaller battery compare to 46mm (about half the capacity), and the battery drain will be more aggressive if you enable all features.

Nope. The only difference is the strap. Active, you get a rubber strap which is better for swimming etc, classic gets you a leather strap
