Did you carry all the impt things with you like jackets, rugsacks, snow trekking shoes, etc or were they provided in the camp there? 2. So if I have to apply for the course in October when are the forms available? 3. Do I need some special fitness training for this course? Like gyming? Or do they check BMI, weight and other medical things? 4. Does this course need any prior training?
Hi, The institute will provide ruck sack ,wind proof jacket and trousers, sleeping bag and mat, down jacket, snow boots and few other things. You need to get your personal clothing (check the list available on their website)and trekking shoe. Forms are available online through out the day year, mostly running full till 2021 check and apply This is a serious course you should be able to run at least 10K in a hour
Sir, insurance policy is mandatory for the BMC? My insurance policy offer benefits of death and accidental is this acceptable? or other benefits should be add? Please inform me.

Hi Amitava.. cheers to Jalpaiguri SAI !! Go to HMI website ... you will find all the details. You have to send the physical copy of the form but you can book your seat by paying the fee online .. and confirming the same with them over email.

No,its usually around 24-28days. You cannot sum up learning knots, bouldering,sports climbing,trekking in a week😁.There is a gap while moving from point A to B.

when did you take the course? and which temperature have you encountered during the trip? i am thinking of going from canada.
i did it in March. The lowest was around -10 .c. In Canada i believe you must have faced much lower temp. March is good glacier training .

no, not for basic. They give it for advance.

yes, you can but you can't compete in the sports climbing competition wearing them as not all of them have it.
