Funky Noise and Mother's Day are nothing more than joke songs, to me. I've always put them in the same camp as Hang the Pope, Lesbians, Mr. Softee Theme, etc. And with the Anthrax/S.O.D. connections, you could mention all the short joke songs those bands did, too. I think it's just good old thrash metal humor in general, and how they didn't take themselves super serious back then. After all, they were just kids, for the most part.
F# means the musical note "F-sharp". With that said, I don't know if the song is actually played in f-sharp.

You make some great points. It's always interesting to listen to these songs and wonder what the meaning is behind them. Overall though this is a great record!
