As a 23 year old, I can say I agree. I was thirteen in 2013 when "selfie" was a thing, and I just hated the sound of it. I've observed that it's not so much a generational thing, it's just a trend chasing thing that people latch onto. People like to be in the "in crowd" of looking cool, so people just agree on cool made up words that mean the same thing as an older, formal sounding word.
Dan had to have been a part of that, when he was a kid, knowing all the terms for weed, or gnarly, or rad. Everybody makes up annoying shit, not just the kids.

It was then being redefined by RuPaul as an acronym for 'Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent', which was popularised by fans of Drag Race and caught on with a much wider audience on the internet, even leaving the gay and drag communities. Idk I just think it's neat :D

A lot of people are starting to put the beginning of Gen Z at 1997 which I don't care for since I was born in 1997. I identify with this video so much! I get the humor and experiences of Millennials so much more. But that's probably because I have an older brother and Gen Z wasn't a thing when I was growing up. We were just kids. It's these young whippersnappers that have defined us as a people. They seem like the kids that grew up when phones and tablets started and I was with the people that grew up on DS and PSP.
