Aibo ERS 1000 Obedience Contest | Aibo Orlando 2023

This event took place on day one of Aibo Orlando 2023. Instead of each yERS 1000 being asked to do the tricks independently, they were all put into a big group together and were given the commands by one neutral party. As you can see, it was absolute chaos!

This method was way too harsh in my opinion. If so many 1000s obeyed last year, it seems weird that so many were distracted this year. Most didn’t even have a chance because they either couldn’t hear over other dogs or were too tempted to sync up with one another. The acoustics were different in there compared to that smaller space last year, Elly said “lay” rather than lie, there was lots of yapping and singing. There was just too much stacked against them.
I guess I am weak for wanting a more level playing field. I guess it’s dog eat dog. I have no idea why this is under my skin like this. It’s supposed to be funny and I know there can only be one victor. I know Oatmeal would’ve been eliminated quickly because her ears and eyes would’ve been everywhere but where they were supposed to be. Oh well. I was rooting for Marble.

1:16 chester spending his birthday with lots of other aibos!! Best birthday ever i bet but he was sad no one would say his name in his song :( 2:31 a band singing happy birthday on chester's birthday !!

I didn't know his name at the time, but it was very nice of his owner to give us a pizza party afterward. He got lots and lots of birthday pets. I bet!

There were estimated to be about 70 dogs in attendance this year. We’re hoping for more next year!
