Great riding!! It's hard to fathom riding rocks like that, because on our Arkansas limestone or even sandstone rocks, most of that wouldn't be possible when it's dry, much less when there's ANY moisture. It just reinforces my desire to get up to the Northshore area and at least try that style of riding. GREAT VIDEO!
@@aGDonut .... If we had rock rolls that were as steep as the ones on the north shore here, you wouldn't be able to brake on them at all. You would pick up speed with your wheels locked. We don't have anything approaching that level of steepness on rock slabs. There's one really steep one at Mt. Fitzgerald, but you can't even slow down on it from the top. Take the angled slab that comes off Sally at Blowing Springs by Lake Bella Vista. That's not nearly as steep, and you can't hold your brakes at all past the split or you'll slide and gather speed, and it's nowhere near as steep as the rock rolls in this video....not even close. I'm sure you can make everything around here look like slick rock on your hardtail.
@@willbros1499 I kind of see your point but, also kind of disagree. We definitely have features that steep in some spots but, they’re like 5 second rolls where the ones in the video are basically the whole trail. 😇 As for my Hardtail, yeah, you’re right. I’m a skiddy boy. 😅 Go fast don’t die out there fellow AR shredder. 🤘
@@aGDonut ..... Those guys are out there on wet tires with mud on them, riding down those slabs. I still contend that you try that on our rocks with even wet tires, and you're probably going to hit the deck. You're certainly not going to be able to slow the bike down like they were doing on anything nearly that steep. It's cool to agree to disagree, because while I've ridden other places like Moab where the rocks have more grip than anything we have here BY FAR, I haven't ridden in that Northshore area and can't say how the rocks compare. I just know there's ZERO chance I would try even one rock roll that steep here if I had a drop of water on my tire.
There is a great Remy video where he totally sends that feature and turns it into a pretty sick looking drop. It actually looked pretty smooth, but that is Remy Metailler doing it.
Hey Nic! Last fall I rode my 27.5 Enduro bike in Squamish and found my front wheel getting hung up quite often, that is, until it got stuck and I sprained my back going OTB... I gotta ask if you found that to be the case on your 27.5 Warden? Thanks, and keep up the great content!
@@VanCan Funny that different in size between wheel sizes is so small, but it still makes a difference in wheel size holes, maybe go back to 26" for some trails to be un ride able again?
With the drop or a roll and I think it was more of a drop and with the Teeter totter and I think it’s a circus music was playing I thought that was so entertaining I got a kick out of that you guys do really good work thanks
@@ostankovalex1176 it looks like a regular Norco Sight. I wonder if it has anything to do with him quiting his job at Norco and going full time as a youtuber
many people may have noticed in the comments that I keep saying there’s the normal line and there is the Dave line He does lines that no one else would even think of doing at 1:25 that’s why I keep saying He needs his own trail difficulty level Nick the answer to your question drop or Roll it depends who you are lol
I was about to comment the same thing! Even when talking if you cut the person off too fast you'd think they said drop, but talking nice and slow makes it a roll 🤣
It's hilarious to see how different you guys ride the feature at 0:46 compared to Remy. I know you guys are all incredibly skilled riders, but he seems to be from another planet or something.
It's a drop, if you were to brake at all, you would slide. Your wheels just sorta touch as your descending down it. Wayyy too sharp of an angle for a roll
I think the intended line is a drop, it seems the line most people are riding it isn't the intended line for the landing. It seems like it's meant to be hucked at a bit higher speeds from further back, rather than ridden down the side of the slab to the landing. There is a line that can be rolled, but I don't think that's what the builders had in mind (could be wrong but that's how it reads to me). Just my take haha Anyways, sick section trails and riding boys! YEEWWW!!!! :D \m/
If you ask Remy it's a huge drop, if you ask Yoann it's a wall ride haha
lol, i was just gonna say, wait, i saw remy throw himself off of the yesterday, haha
"Little drop."
It's a roll. Here's my take: A roll can be dropped, but I drop cannot be rolled. Therefore it must be a roll.
I support this take
We've never seen you hit the deck! Glad you walked away!
Haha. We were suspicious of the log and plank as well. I was relieved it was attached as well...easily entertained
1:34 its shaped like a roll, but it has a landing. So that makes it the hellchild between the two

Even on my hardtail, AR rocks have plenty of grip. Not sure what you’re in about. 😅

Try super soft rubber compounds, makes a big difference in the wet on hard situations.
Great editing, pure ride.

exctly, which make it a drop, rite?
That man is less than a god but more than man, like Hercules or somethin.
After watching this video, I started watching that Remy video! You beat me to it :P
It is a drop, nope it is a roller. What a dream team, you guys made it look so easy, and just keep having fun. Kudos !!
The RUclipsr dream team at it again.
im not sure what it was about this video but I had a much better sense of steepness. really cool
You passed me on Rupert at 4:23 👋
definitely a roll, first time i did it, felt so smooth. such an easy feature that just looks kinda intimidating
the most non shelant "ow" ever 😂 glad your ok man!

There's definitely less roll over with the little wheels, so could be!

It's both. I believe the captain of Squamish (Remy) stated so in one of Yoann's into the gnar videos.
wow aweson All mountain enduro, greetings from Philippines 😊
If one person can roll it, it a roll with a “send option”.
It's a rolly drop. Nice!
Awesome riding guys! 🤟🏼😎🔥
Any roll is a drop if you’re bad-ass enough
I really want to see you mullet that bike,.....thinking about buying one but i want 29 inch rollover in the front.
You can mullet it! And I’ll probably try it this summer
@@VanCan I would love to see your views on that. Big fan, keep up the great work.
I know a Dave who drops everything wheelie drop style. “Wheelie Dave”
awesome, i wish i had some slabs like that near here
They're pretty great
that is definitely a drop! Why else would there be a well defined landing to drop onto! :)
Lots of rolls have landings!
Jordan gets it 👍
It’s a droll. It’s when you get scared and lift the front wheel but the back wheel is rolling all the way.
With the drop or a roll and I think it was more of a drop and with the Teeter totter and I think it’s a circus music was playing I thought that was so entertaining I got a kick out of that you guys do really good work thanks
Definitely a roll!
“Warming up” on Squamish double black diamonds…what type of chicanery is this 😳😎
Your downhill rides seem to never end! How long is the climb?
Depends! But usually the first climb will
Be 45min - an hour
Getting strong Dungeons and Dragons vibes off you guys. ( compliment)
It's a fatality. Hot DAMN!
Classic Dave.
That’s 100% a drop. I’ve seen Rémy and Yoanne LAUNCH off that thing lol
you can drop a roll, you cant roll a drop.
Dave is a beast!
What is Dale hiding on his bike? A new sponsor?

Def a roll.
NOOOOO why would you say that?! 4:53 🫠
Simple but effective editing 😂
Them trails are happening this summer for me only like 3 hours away from me
Do you run CC in your tires? Did that hurt? Great videos. Thanks for making them!
Yup front and rear. Yup right in the noggin lol

rad ride!! awesome! are brakes are you using?
Shimano XT

How U Set Up Ur sag for These trails? 25/30 or stiffer?
20ish front 30’ish rear
What is that bike Dale Stone is riding?
you'll have to ask him!
You guys are crazy!
Do you usually buy a whole bike or just the frame set?
Whole bike, just easier!

This is so entertaining!!!!

What kind of PSI do you run in your tires for conditions like this?
I usually do 21psi front, 29psi rear
Did Dale Stone get a new bike?
👀
Such awesome trails😂
It's a drop if you drop in 🤘🤠
I say that this type of feature needs a new name
To some, it's a drop. To others, it's a roll. To me, it's both. It's a droll.

I replayed your crash a few times but couldn't work out what went wrong. Any ideas?
Rode far left and the front wheel was stopped by that root sending me OTB!
@@VanCan Thanks! I thought you had cleared the root but I guess that was just GoPro distortion.

I *am* the fake Dale. Nice to ding you. :D
It's a droll, or a rop mhmmm.
Only Canadians warmup on DB’s🍻

roll

Yup he’s a pro! And he’s better than 99.99% of riders.
I defer to the pros. If Yoann Barelli demos it as a roll it's a roll haha
Drop or Roll? It's a Droll aka Dave Roll.
I vote drop
Depends on your skill level. For you, it is a drop.
Talking about crashing mid ride? You nuts? Surprised you didn’t say “last lap” or “just one more” as well. That’s just crazy talk. 😂

Not a drop
Drop
