Pre-birthday celebration in Taupo. Our accomodation was perfect! It was spacious, cozy, and warm. 1 hour away from Mt Ruapehu which I will post soon, but for now enjoy our travel vlog in Taupo, New Zealand.
Taupo, a town near the centre of New Zealand's North Island, is distinguished by its lakefront setting and outdoor sports ranging from fishing to jet-boating. The vast waters of Lake Taupo, a volcanic caldera, drain into the Huka Falls, dramatic, crystal-blue cascades reachable by hiking and biking trails. Surrounding Taupo are hot springs like those filling the Craters of the Moon reserve.
Huka Falls Taupo
You’ll hear the Huka Falls well before you see them - it’s the sound of nearly a quarter of a million litres of water per second erupting from a natural gorge and thundering 11m into the Waikato River below. This incredible waterfall is the most-visited natural attraction in New Zealand - it’s hard to tear your gaze away from the endless, mesmerising torrent.
