Haha, in my understanding, a 'brown out' is temporary, a couple of hours, a black out is major, grid-wide, for days... In 1976 super typhoon Pamela hit Guam, I was there, 12 yrs old. The whole island was waxed. No electric, no water service. We left back to the mainland US at least 6 weeks later, I think water was just starting to be restored. luckily, in monsoon season, it rained there every day, in non monsoon season, it rained every other day. LOL. we used rain run-off from the roof in the back porch to shower, collected water in buckets to flush the toilet, etc., drank water, a quart mixed with a tablespoon of clorox... cooked on a little hibatchi. It was an interesting experience for a 12 yr old, but I wouldn't want to repeat it. non stop heat and humidity is no fun. Wish you a speedy restoration!
Brian I got the Cadillac installed a few days ago before I move to the Philippines. Did you get yours in the USA 🇺🇸? …..STILL a little sore it’s been 2 days…😊
Thanks Brian. Here in Butuan showers at 5am make good sense. By 7am there is no water pressure. Same problem for years! BTW - isn't it pronounced 'S-H-A-R-G-A-W' ??
Hey, Bri...Long time, no chat! How're you doin' lately? I see yous got da pirate ting going very well! What's da verdict on livin' in da province so far?
Do you have G-cash? Maybe some of the expats here in the Philippines would donate that way also. I could a little, maybe 1000php. like you said we're not all rich here
If Filipino and the Philippines is truly a 3rd world country. It gets hit by typhoon over and over again and government is not doing anything about it. They'd rather just give handouts for affected people to boost their likeability. Only cure but no prevention.

Sorry to hear this buddy... Educational in the sense that your island has some unique benefits but obviously the infrastructure thing isn't all worked out yet. Still man, it's more beautiful than Angeles City and all the rift raft you are avoiding... I don't know, you know, I think no matter where you live in the Philippines there's always going to be something.. That's definitely a lot of days without air conditioning though. Hang in there!
thats why i stay near angeles. Lived in the province 2 years, no thanks, no power, no internet, no water... it is always something....

Brian, you need to go 100% solar! With a generator backup?

OMG without aircon I will die... And it looks like Asia is getting hotter and hotter every year.... Maybe I have to reconsider my stay..
The power issue must make some tourists unhappy there .the brownouts are for ever in the ph
its 6.20 cents a gallon here in New Brunswick Canada and higher. I think its time to maybe consider moving back to AC.
Beard looks good 👍🏼
Thank you 👍
I would go with solar, gas generators are load and have dangerous gas fumes. and a pain getting and loading gas.
Look at the bright side, your electric bill should be lower.

What up beard look like ☠️ pirate brian
Actually from my research..it wasn't until 1985 when electricity started there.
Good to know 👍

Donate it to a local orphanage.
Hope they get the power back up before Christmas day.
Yes it would be a nice early Christmas gift 👍

The government doesn't do anything because they want hand outs from other countries because they pocket it.
You are looking like Tom Hanks in Castaway.
Wilson 🤣
When you live on an island...
Castaway 2.
If you were in Angeles you could just go to the mall because they have a generator.
THE BEARD LOOKS SING GOOD , KEEP IT FOR A WHILE
Thank you
Why don’t u go to Angeles rent a place for a month and sit it out?
@PhillyinthePhilippines,
Sometimes you need to take time for yourself. 🆗 Try to enjoy the situation. 🇵🇭
Brian your beard is coming in nicely and glad to see you on again.
man, I could never live permanently in the jungle. Maybe a visit or two but no way fulltime.
