    A pneumatic nibbler is our tool of choice for cutting windows/flares from the inside.

    5:14 7:23 The spray/construction foam is open to diffusion compared to rubber based products like armaflex. That could result in humidity condensing on the cold metal -> rust.

      This. I’ve restored a handful of classic vehicles where spray foam was used, those were the rustiest spots. I’d never use them. Same with traditional insulation in panel cavities. I think in a handful of years a lot of these Van conversions are gonna be rotted off the road sadly.

      @@HotRodHippie What would you use in the panel caveties as an alternative to sprayfoam and traditional insulation?

    not sure if anyone has pointed it out yet, not trying to be a pain either. but im pretty sure the rivnuts were supposed to go into the sheet behind the bracing, might be an idea to check that as it would be a real pain to see that amazing bed or van get damaged because it wasn't supported properly. great video tho love the build so far

    • @JBLewis
      @JBLewis 7 месяцев назад

      at 9:50, I tend to agree, I wouldn't use the rivnuts that way. BUT! If that's what the bed platform's manufacturer said to do, so be it.

    There’s so many great products out there now for van fix outs a little pricey but well worth it. As always love your work

    Just a suggestion for a future van build or anyone planning one, use an air saw to cut the holes in the sides of the van. I got a $25 from Harbor Freight and it's much narrower than a jig saw so you can cut from the inside of the van.

    I absolutely LOVE this project. Thanks for sharing it with us. I think last week I suggested you watch a video or two on the DualEx youtube channel.... for inspiration or ideas or whatever. He's got over a half a million subscribers and doesn't put out all that many videos.... but I haven't seen anyone better at making these tiny home camper van things. I would have loved to own one of these things when I was a bit younger... and I'm still thinking about doing something - but on a smaller scale.

    3M Fastbond works well for bonding foam to plywood.

  • @samuelkane1717
    @samuelkane1717 7 месяцев назад +3

    Some aerosol propellants will dissolve XPS foams as wargaming terrain hobbyists well know. It's possible to get "XPS safe" products, but most just use an airbrush or paint brush to seal the foam or apply a similar product instead.
