D is actually the center to center distance between cranked up and tension bars.

In 0.42d "d" is not dia of bar but the height of bend and the 45 degrees is other side of the crank.
Yeah you are right d is distance from top to bottom of the bent up bars

Sir the angle you written is 45 degree or more then 45
Lapping of steel bars in site, labours are provided small bend at lapping end of the bar to get same cover to all steel bars and what is the term they used to that type of bend?
Cutting length of bent up bar can be calculated by below formula:- ( L+(2*(0.42h)-(1d* no. Of bends))
Where,
• L is total length of including L1, L2, L3.
• h is the height of bend portion.
• 1d is deducted for 45 degree bends multiplied by no. Of bends.

with respect to length of crank that it is impossible equal 0.42d and d means daimeter of bar ,suppose daimeter of bar=12mm then the length of crank will be 0.42*12=5.o4 mm ,that is wrong ,and your fixed value like 10d and 16 d,are they depend on ACI CODE ? PLEASE we need ACI CODE .THANKS

'd' means not the diameter of the it means the DEPTH of the beam. 0.42d we can take 0.45d (Approx).
length of bend in footing why take dia between 10d to 16d .it will give very difference in length.

Absolutely wrong.. Suppose the Dia of bar is 10 mm, then the length of crank as u said is 0.42 d, so it becomes 4.2 mm.. Do you think the crank length is 4.2 mm? Wrong knowledge De Raha Hai sala
