    -Have you crashed before and what was its effect on you?
    -What's the closest call you ever had and how did it effect you?
    -If you could give a new rider only one piece of advice what would it be and why?

      Always ride with reserve. Chin up. Point your face where you want to be with a slight movement right to left continuously (improves depth perception). Continuously scan with your eyes. Most of all RHYTHM. Once out of sync, slow down and gradually bring it up again.

      Nick van der Vegt hey buddy, apologies if this question has been answered before - but I was curious what camera you used during the beginning of the footage?
      Did you also edit the video to give it this teal and yellow colour effect?

    • @HorseTongue
      @HorseTongue 7 лет назад

      Patrick Konkol because of the subject matter. This is a video of a bad rider doing stupid and dangerous things for attention. And the video tries to make him look cool.
      Any biker is going to look at this punk and get pissed. The only likes it's going to get are from other squids like Trent.

    - What is the fastest bike you have ever ridden? For me, its probably my FZ1 at the moment.
    - What Mod could you NOT live without? For me, its the OXFORD heated grips.
    - Why do you ride? For me, it gives me joy and a pure sense of freedom like I could go anywhere or do anything and no one could stop me.
    - Where is the one place you want to ride most? I live on Vancouver Island so I'm spoiled with the roads here, but if I were to travel to somewhere to ride it would either be the Isle of Man or the Mulholland Snake. Vancouver Island is AMAZING for riding BTW. I want to put together a video of some of our roads here for you Nick!

  • @Valdemhaar

    I am a bike rider myself but I do react to one thing.
    Most riders always say the same thing, they worry about others causing a danger for them.
    Sure we are way more exposed as a bike rider but if people get angry when you ride fast it's more then ok.
    Ride fast and you can kill others as well. So it's not only ourselves but we do take other peoples lives in our hands when we ride fast.
    Not trying to nag about anything but bikes loose grip and we can get distracted. Lot of metal that comes flying.
    Keep riding and stay safe.

  • @FGeneHubert

    I don't understand why the wide line as in Twist of the Wrist, K Code, isn't used? Especially on the street. Two times in this video, the rider was wide coming out against the double yellow and not going to the inside for the set up. Just a old rider's opinion. Too old to go the 150-170 on the street anymore and feel blessed I made it through my days doing this. Take it to the track or calm it down.

    • @evii7720
      @evii7720 7 лет назад +1

      Most ppl sadly dont use it... Especially because the wide line is much safer and you can have theoretically a higher corner speed with it.

    • @bastrix69
      @bastrix69 7 лет назад

      Sorry but what does that mean exactly?

    • @FGeneHubert
      @FGeneHubert 7 лет назад +1

      Just old school riding that really don't mean nothing. If you have the opportunity to read the book, it will become clear when you vision your lane as the full race track.

    • @rtrent6352
      @rtrent6352 7 лет назад +3

      I try to run wide lines when I can as I know that's the best way through a corner. But no one is perfect buddy.....

    "What was your first memory of a motorcycle?" "What got you into riding?"
    I remember the first recollection I have of seeing a bike. I was living in Toronto, I would have been 5-6 years old and a green ninja flew underneath the overpass/walkway I was on. Instantly I was hooked on bikes and have been obsessed every since.

  • @Stratulax
    @Stratulax 6 лет назад

    I noticed that you asked one of the riders about how to improve, or something along those lines. Totally agreed with everything that he said, but my question is this. If possible, could you ask them that, as well as how do they comeback or learn from previous mistakes? With me, it's always been about a healthy amount of reflection so that I understand what happened and why. That way I can use that knowledge as a trigger point (if you will) for the next time that something along those lines (or even remotely similar) occurs. I know, sounds like it would slowdown my reaction time, but it doesn't. It allows me to process and adjust to situations through learned previous real world experiences. Thanks for the series! I went ahead and kicked this to a friend of mine that's just getting back in the saddle again after a pretty long lay off.

    I like to get out there and ride like this rider. A few things I'd suggest for the next one:
    Ask him if he's been down or if he's had friends go down. How did it impact you? If he's got video of it, that be great to include.
    Regarding the flack he's received: was it from fellow riders, cagers or PD? There's one guy I ride with that catches a lot of flack from fellow riders and I'm curious how they receive that feedback.

My friend got me into riding when I had 0 interest in riding motorcycles so I'm curious as to how other people got into it.

Keep it up Nick, from reading other comments others feel the same way. Great work :D

    The quality of your image as well as the sound is absolutely fucking awesome! Really enjoyed watching it.
    What I found sort of irritating though is the "build up" of the rider approaching the bike, getting on it and riding away towards the end of the video. For it to build tension it would've needed to be just that, so the viewer was on the edge of his seat to see it continue. By showing the riding sequences in between already you immediately take away this tension, making the story line a bit too evened out.
    The idea itself of the interview combined with scenes of the bike and him riding with a voiceover is gorgeous though. Can't wait for the next video of this series!
