  • The Phillies never took a run at Juan Soto, but on Monday they finally made a move. They signed former All-Star closer Jordan Romano to a one-year, $8.5 million contract. The fellas talk about the signing and what it means for the bullpen.
But is this it for the bullpen?
What about the outfield and rotation?

I do not understand why it's so bad for Bohm to show a little frustration on the field when bryce harper publicly displays his anger/frustration frequently after hitting ground / strikeouts. Slamming his bat & helmet. Harper is Bohm's mentor. Maybe Bryce should set a better example for all the younger guys on the team. It's ridiculous to harp (ha ha! No pun intended) on Bohm's attitude when imo Bryce is the one who needs the attitude adjustment.

If the Phillies roster is what it is by Opening Day '25, this is a 3rd place team in the NL struggling to get the #6 seed. And if the team wants the WS title and won't trade its farm, it has to be willing to go over that 4th luxury tax.. Otherwise its going to be a 6mth con job

It’s discouraging listening to Rob and Dave they seem they’re content with where we at when it’s visible that we have flaws and holes that need to be filled

I laugh, “he’s a good player on the rise.” He’s reached his prime. Also, this Romano pick up, we lost 2 bullpen pieces and the fix is 1 player who had an elbow injury and is 31 yrs old. Come on, our window is almost shut.

Nolan Arenado wants a trade and said the Phillies are an option. He would be good on a short term deal while we wait for Aidin Miller to take over.

Well that is a smart move. Our over rated lousy. GM. Will never do it. Trading bohm not getting a better. 3rd basement where is center. Left and the impact 5 starter or missing bullpen arm ?

Arenado has three years left on his guaranteed contract. Bohm has two years until he hits free agency, and can be traded anytime between now and then if needed. Arenado cannot be traded without his consent, and I doubt that he's willing to get traded again after he gets traded away from St. Louis. Acquiring Arenado would block Miller from third base for three years.

So we gave a fat contract to a damaged pitcher who only appeared in 15 games last year with an ERA over 6???
    And this is exciting????
Remember Buckholz? I certainly remember that disaster.

Trout is too injury prone, he might end up moving to DH

We need to work with Angel's and bring in Mike Trout in trade. Angel's would have to eat some of that $$ but Trout would pay for himself...put him in LF. Then DH next year. That would be huge and sell outs.

I like Alec but he and Marsh should not be on the same team. They both lack maturity and they are a bad influences on each other which causes lackluster play.

I just don't think Marsh is a good player, certainly no better than Weston Wilson or Cal Stephenson or Kody Clemens. None of those guys chase like Marsh does.
