THANK YOU for this Tim. This is "groovy", "outta sight" sixties music at its best. This was one of the first songs that combined rock with Gospel and became a HUGE MEGA HIT for a very very troubled time with the Viet Nam war and everything. Thank you for bringing it back to life❣️

If you go down the 5th D rabbit hole, you'll notice that their early hits are group harmonies, but the later you get and get to their later hits, they're going to be Marilyn McCoo centric. She has to be on the Mount Rushmore of underrated great voices ever.

So you know these two melodies are from the 60s musical Hair - the first and final songs. The 5th recorded them together like this and it was a huge hit. I think you’d love the entire song track. The musical is a microcosm of the hippie culture and anti war movement of that time. Thanks for posting this and letting that sun shine in and out of your heart!

The best part of the doc is showing it to the artists who mostly hadn’t ever seen the footage. Two of the members of this band are still married and they teared up. Moving and also a total get down. I was a little girl when this song was released. It always reminds me of summer. I loved it then...and even more now. Their harmony sounded so pure! ❤

So impressed by the way you reacted to "Let the Sunshine In." It hits everybody,. I was a pre-teen kid in ultra-white Vermont when the song came out, bad household, but the song just gave me hope and joy. Looks like you got a piece of that emotion too.
