Jackie Jack has a style all his own. A poet and interpretor introverted inside out to make sense of moments that are not easily put in verses. And his voice slings around emotions like the changing winds blowing down your favorite dirt road. Predictable at one moment then turns your head and heart on the next 1,2,3 to the next deep dropping note. His voice encourages you to sing along. And if not, the tune sticks in hour head. Kinda contrary to the ordinary.

I have looked and looked for an original recording of the album Contrary to Ordinary and they are unavailable. None recorded since are as good. Bought the tape in 1978 and wore it out.
Great video, it's my favorite tune and I've gone to a number of his shows and I've never seen him perform it. It's still on my bucket list. Also, thanks for the heads up on the CD release, mine just arrived today.
Was at this show! It was so so good! I have been looking for a recording ever since. This is the first of any show of him solo acoustic that I have found. Do you have any more? Have to think someone had to patch the board that night! I even reached out to the guy that runs Keep Smilin Productions that put it on. Need to find a recording of that night! Thanks for posting. Need more!!!
Ty. I uploaded 13 videos to youtube from the 2012 Jerry Jeff concert in Auburn. It really was a great show. I dont know if anyone recorded the entire concert, but I shared what I had.
