Loved this! Definitely don’t want you to feel like you have to push through a book you don’t like for a video though! Reading slumps are the worst. Other fantasy books I recommend: Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout, Red Rising by Pierce Brown and Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. Also I think a “reading spicy books for a week” video could be fun!
I love that your reading vlogs are long and you describe everything in detail without spoiling! I hate when ppl post 10 min vlogs.. I appreciate your hard work and taking the time for us❤
An Ember in the Ashes series is a YA fantasy! Fantasty always has me either wanting more or in a slump for way to long, I love your transparency in your videos of how you feel!!
Omg please please please read the infernal devices series. It’s fantasy with romance. But it’s slow burn enemies to lovers with a love triangle. It is quite literally the greatest book series of all time it’s sooo so so good. You are going to swoon over Will Herondale ❤️
Oh my gosh it makes me so mad when a book has false advertising for what’s in it! I totally agree with you, I haven’t read Anastasia but I’ve read multiple books recently like that and it’s so frustrating.
You should read The Shadow and Bone series!! I know you already read Six of Crows but its such a good trilogy! There's fighting, adventure, and a small love triangle as well!
I just finished The Shadows Between us, and I definitely recommend that for a good fantasy romance, and the only like fantasy part is the Shadow King’s shadow powers. It’s royalty, and the banter and sarcasm is *chef’s kiss*
@@pavogian if you haven’t already, you should read the daughter of the pirate king duology because it’s by Tricia Levenseller as well and it’s literally amazing. I love her writing so so much
I recently just read the Fable series, and I loved it! There's four books, Saint #0.5, Fable #1, Namesake #2, and The Last Legacy #3. The difference is you can read just Fable and Namesake by themselves. The Last Legacy is in the same world a little after the time period in Namesake, but not with the same characters. There is also romance to a point!
I loved Serpent and Dove! The second one was slow and the beginning of the third one was slow but it ended great! Don't know if you read them yet but they are worth it! ❤
okay so…if you need fantasy book recommendations i recommend keepers of the lost cities, it’s a long series with big books but it’s amazing, there is love triangles and it’s 13+ so it’s easy to read
hey hey! just want to say that i love how you talk about the books you end up not liking! you're very funny when you roast them LOL but i love that you also describe the kind of person you think WOULD like those because i've read some really good books bc of you- even though you yourself didn't like them, the way you described them and didn't say "no one should read this", you encouraged me to pick them up!
My favorite fantasy book BY FAR is the Throne of Glass series. It's so long, but SOOOOOO worth it. I will say, I enjoyed it a lot more when I started listening to the audiobook while reading it. Since it's so long, you get so immersed into that world and it's just so good!!
I haven't read Kingdom of the Feared (i've read the first two) But since you Like Wrath you might want to read Belladonna by Adalyn Grace. The main love interest in that gives off the same vibes as Wrath in my opinion.
What’s great about the ACOTAR series is that it’s very beginner-friendly if you’re new to the fantasy genre. It was the first set of fantasy books I’ve ever read and it wasn’t difficult to understand the world/plot at all! And I know a lot of people new to fantasy feel the same way about that series ☺️
I always get excited when I see you’ve posted!! Your reading vlogs are so relaxing to watch! For fantasy, I would recommend the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series if you have read it, I think you might enjoy it.
I’ve been wanting to read “Kingdom of the Wicked” and “Serpent&Dove” so this video made me motivated to move them further up on my TBR to read them sooner! I enjoyed watching this video while having my breakfast&coffee on a beautiful Saturday morning!
Sara I was out of town for the Taylor swift concert and then I finally got home and settled and saw I missed so many videos from you - what a great welcome home gift
if you haven’t already i 100% recommend reading Once Upon a Broken Heart and Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber, the third book in the series isn’t out yet but it’s honestly one of the best enemies to lovers fantasies i have read in a while and has me in such a chokehold! got me out of the biggest reading slump i’m just so excited for when we can finally get our hands on the last book 😩
Same about struggling to understand the magic, world, and what is going on with a fantasy. With the ACOTAR series I had to periodically read a chapter recap webpage to make sure I didn’t miss anything
I’ve only really starting to get into fantasy books! But a series I’ve started and really like is the Red Queen series!! I feel like you would really enjoy those 🫶🏼🫶🏼
I started once upon a broken heart after seeing your collab with Destiny and Hayley and I’m going gaga over the characters. I wasn’t a big fantasy reader but I just can’t keep this book down
I'm not big on fantasy but every recommendation I get from you ( or even if you mention a book lmao ), I have really enjoyed and they've been some of my favourites 💖💖💖
I loved Anastasia. I've read 36 novels so far this year and Anastasia is the only one that's received 5 stars. It has everything I like in a story. I normally do not like reading books heavy in politics, but I didn't even notice the politics in this book. I also really like Serpent & Dove I gave it 4 stars last year when I read it.
you should read lovely war! i've never heard anyone talk about it but i really wanna know what you think. i feel like its the perfect mix of something you'd read and something new
Hi! Sara if you (or even if someone else) want(s) a mix of fantasy, romance, good storyline and..... Vampires... Read: The House of Night. Series and it's novellas. It was my first series and one of the best I've read. Highly recommend. If you can please add atleast one of it's books in your part 2.✌🏻 P.S. I love Neferet....
Have you ever seen the cartoon Anastasia from that came out many years ago? It was one of my favorite movies as a kid. The soundtrack is great. That’s what I associated the book with.
Can you recommend fantasy books that don't read as YA, aren't fae aaaand isn't written by Sarah J Maas?? :)) I want to get into fantasy but I'm so picky with the genre
I think you should read the stalking jack the ripper series its also from kerri maniscalco the main character is so powerful and the love interest is so funny! It js a murder mystery/thriller and a bit dark but i love it!
omg im so happy that you explained your view on fantasy books and how tiring it is to picture and imagine it! I thought I was the only one like that hahah phewww LOL
If I were to read fantasy for a week I would get half a book done. It’s just not my genre of choice. I did jsut start Renegades to see if I like Sifi so we’ll see!❤
Only book so far with the mc as a witch that I love was Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder, it still is my top fav! 💕 I'm glad you gave an honest review on Anastasia. I was thinking of reading a Sophie Lark book because I've heard nothing but great things about them and was actually thinking of reading this exact one 🙊 but nevermind 👋😂 thanks for the reviews! Will definitely check out Kingdom of the Wicked 📚💕🤗
Sarah I love your videos there the best this book isn’t a fantasy book but it’s one of my favorite young adult novels it’s called Orbiting Jupiter by Gary D Schmidt it so good it’s about a 14 year old boy named Joseph brook who gets put into a foster family and is on the search for his baby daughter Jupiter the story is told through the perspective of his foster brother Jack so good 10 out of 10 you would love it ! ❤❤🫶🏻💕🥺 also love your channel so much
bestie when i saw you pick up Anastasia i said “she ain’t gonna like that” out loud 😂 the real slay was watching you push through it
NO WAY LMFAO
Is it accurate to what actually happened to the romanovs?
@@saskia7214 no it's not. She was just inspired by Anastasia and the Romanov family.
I don't know why but watching Sara read is so comforting, it makes me want to read
I sometimes get really confused with high fantasy books but I like being confused with them because they are just so entertaining
Every day Sara posts is a great day!
absolutely!
I was reading but as soon as I saw this video I clicked
literally me rn
Sameeee

I feel like Reid and Lou in Serpent and Dove, remind me SO MUCH of Nina and Matthias in Six of Crows! 🤩I’m so glad you enjoyed it

@@SaraCarrolli This book is actually based on fanfiction of the two of them, I think!

I’m reading kingdom of the wicked rn and can’t wait to see how the series unfolds, now I wanna binge all the books 💕
yayyyyy!

I hope she sees this I love that book series
im currently 50 pages away from finishing clockwork princess and it has been an emotional rollercoaster... i love this series omg

you should do reading dystopian books for a week. BTW sara you are my comfort booktuber and I love your content!
Ugh I hate the false advertising too! It just happened to me with The Night Circus
I’ve never read a high fantasy book and I’m very intimated by books like ACOTAR, but excited to watch this!
I’ve never read fantasy until ACOTAR and now I’m obsessed and looking for all things fantasy. Give that series a try and you may love it like I did!
acotar is so good!
That’s nowhere near high fantasy. High fantasy is books like Lord Of The Rings and Wheel of Time
ACOTAR is definitely more romance than fantasy, at least after the first book. it’s a really good mix!
I always get excited when I see you’ve posted!! Your reading vlogs are so relaxing to watch! For fantasy, I would recommend the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series if you have read it, I think you might enjoy it.
Now that convinced me , I started Kingdom of the Wicked yesterday and now I can happily buy the next books💃💃
Sara you NEED to read the prison healer it is SO GOOD, we have similar taste in books I feel like you would love!

You have inspired me to start the steps in making my own booktube! I enjoy watching your videos :) You keep me company while I work from home.
Oh I love hearing that!!!! Yay ☺️💝
I also love reading fantasy but struggle because they’re all series… and starting a series without finishing them is my toxic trait 😅
i’m so glad you liked serpent and dove! it’s my fav series. i hope you read the other books🤍
Hey Sara, I don’t know if you heard about it, but there will be a series about Wrath’s brothers! It’s called Throne of the fallen😊
