Back when deejays were live on the soundsystems, Stur Mars was one of the giant soundsystems of the mid eighties, and boasted an all all-star cast of dejays and singers. Dancehall, as it existed then, was probably at its highpoint. If you love the flavor of the old dancehall, then you are bound to enjoy this one. It's definitely one of the best. It's smooth and rhythmic, but ruff and tuff. Classic stuff.

Here June 19 2022 , when I saw the Cassette Rolling Wheel to Wheel remembered me when I used to collect DanceHall on TDK ,Maxwell and Sony Cassette.. Stur Mars Roots High Power Sounding Great same way a Host of Some of the Best DJ’s ..Big up Danny Dread.Super Cat as been my DJ from then till now..

When you hear a cassette that you missed for the first time its like being transported back in time ,,,we didn't know at the time but this is the golden Age of Dancehall before the exodus the new York and London little did we know within ten years it was all gone .. I remembered King Stur Mars as probably the heaviest sound I have ever heard .They came with many small boxes unlike most other sounds with boxes six feet tall .

Not this session but I had an original Sturmars cassette that was stolen after me holding it for, at the time, almost 30 years. I never converted it so its lost. Some youtubers have uploaded it but none have the original artiste 45s, I assume bc of copyright. Still heartbroken. Large up Skeng an all of Sturmars
I dont understand what you mean that you had a orginal Stereo mars cassette the sound use to play at least 4 times a week and they had probably about 2 tape decks connected to the sound so whoever had the cassette they made copies
@@peeba7921 All cassettes outside of the sound systems' original are definitely copies. What I was saying is that what is now uploaded on RUclips has the the original 45's removed from the upload. I'm assuming for copyright purposes. The uploads only have the version (dub side instrumental) and live DJ. Example, on this upload Burro does Praise up Jah, right? On the original "copy" Barrington Levy "Ragamuffin" is played first. Danny Dread come in and drop the version then Burro come in live. That's all I'm saying. The Studio songs were all removed. Echo Minott's cover of Lionel Richie "Hello" is also on the original copy,, but the upload only has the version with Nicodemus Suzie Wong and Shopkeeper Daughter. I bought the cassette in 87 so I'm an old dog.
