As someone also “Loyal to Royal”, I have been curious about other lines and whether they are worth the extra money for a much different experience and I’m kind of concluding that Royal is enough for most people. It helps when you can make the cruise with them what you want from them. Will have to work through your RC videos, as, other than Adventure, you’ve been on ships I’ve not. Have you considered any other lines? Celebrity? MSC? Etc.
I have… I would like to try celebrity and Norwegian as well as MSC. MSC prices are much lower than their competitors and they have beautiful ships! My next cruise with Royal will put me at diamond… which means of course I won’t get the diamond perks until the cruise after. The tier statuses also make it hard to try other cruise lines 🙂. I like how you give your opinions without the sensationalism of other RUclipsrs. It’s clear you have a love for cruising! We made it to Diamond recently and I agree, the perks make looking at other lines quite difficult. Though RC and Celebrity have now aligned their loyalty programs, which is making Celebrity a little more appealing, as they have a few more intriguing itineraries. I believe MSC and Virgin will status match with RC. We’ve definitely looked at MSC, though the reviews have been a touch off putting. Virgin is quite appealing if we can beg a grandmother to watch the small human! 😂
@@omrouk yep I fell in love with cruising in 2012, on Allure of the Seas…. I am a retired Navy Vet… and have always loved being out on the ocean… and seeing other parts of the world… the cruise industry took that love to a whole new level for me, cuz now I can actually enjoy my experience on a ship as well as visiting different ports 😊. I have also seen those reviews of MSC… but definitely want to experience it for myself, their pricing makes it hard not to.😁
@@Rosh_Travels We’ve been on Oasis, so I can bet Allure was an equally beautiful ship. For me cruising is the joy of travel with the ease and luxury of having your transport, hotel and restaurants with you. Being retired Navy, I’d imagine you would never get sea sick. Have you considered a repositioning Transatlantic cruise? The potential for rougher seas does put some off those. Like you, we have said we’ll experience MSC one day. Their pricing and status match perks (while not on the scale of Royal’s, are certainly better than cruising with them without the status perks). We’re generally people who can find the good and entertainment in what we’re doing and, unless something is truly terrible, we can let a little bad pass us by. Also, our opinion is, if we find a good cruise with a great itinerary and price on MSC, vs one on Royal, then we’ll try it and if it’s not for us, we’ll enjoy what we can and just stick with what we prefer going forwards. We’ve signed up with MSC and got the status match the moment we got Diamond Status on Royal, because the potential for booking a cruise with MSC and not taking advantage of of the small loyalty discount and onboard credit would have annoyed me if I’d booked with MSC and not done so and then found that out.

Yahhh same about the food, I wasn’t WOWED after seeing all the reviews but for being free it was good. I didn’t starve for sure.

Agreed. Both cruise lines have something to offer. I have future cruises booked on both. Love the all inclusive aspect of Virgin.
