I be seeing ppl in gold and plat with better movement than some of Leffens opponents today, granted it’s clear all they did was practice movement, but they made it that far in ranked somehow, what I’m saying is to worry abt that in due time type shit
@@kuwabara_ssbu8389fr. It’s so much fun just to play - I focus on improving one or two movement / neutral / combo things at a time. I can stress about learning shit at work no reason to do it while relaxing 😂
In all fighting games, drills are super important to breaking the barrier between mental planning and physical ability, but I find that it's ESPECIALLY important in platform fighters. I've never had a bigger skill increase in a video game than when I got serious about doing drills in melee
This really goes to show just how good Leffen is at fighting games, and what makes him so good. Many of these matches are competitive at first, but they end with Leffen owning the guy by the end. That's good old adaptation.
God damn it Leff, move your camera down to the corner XD I am impressed with all orcane players. He's currently my secondary under Maypul, but he is so different in feel in my opinion. I need to get better at utilizing fair movement, for sure. Tibazz
@benazzouzkamil4111 yeah, I don't mean in terms of tactic, I mean in terms of tech really XD You have to turnaround with Orcane and then input opposite direction fair for example, feels unnatural for me
@@TheGenchannel as a roa 1 player for years im inclined to agree. 2 shares more in common with melee/smash since the addition of grab, shield, ledge. the gameflow has changed drastically compared to roa 1
@@EightThumbsUp It hits slightly below Orcane. So Orcane should be level with the opponent or above the opponent. Opponent can't be above Orcane when he bairs or bair will miss.
against most characters it's just about knowing what can be punished out of shield with either nair/shield grab or wavedash > jab/tilt/grab. against zetter sometimes you gotta just buffer roll.
Playing melee made it natural to pick up zetter. But im stuck gold cuz i find it hard to get kills without fox's waveshine upsmash, upthrow upair, or PM wolf's shine side b
Shine -> upsmash is a confirm in this game as well :) I find a lot of success using downthrow to mix up di as well since on di in you get upsmash or at higher percents sweetspot fair to kill.
59:03 Yeah this point being made is true. Kragg literally has zero flaws while having crazy good strengths. Definitely needs more attention from the balance team.
@@LostRams Of course, but let's observe his strengths. Top 2 recovery in the cast, best projectile in the game, heavy weight means higher value for each stock played, incredible frame data on his aerials and standing tilts/jab, easy confirms on most of his grab throws, ability to wall out opponents with ease, and can gimp weaker recoveries. He was also the most played character in the top part of the Coinbase bracket once again. Unsurprising.
"zero flaws" he is a big body and easy to combo, that's a pretty large flaw. he also has rather slow moves and few disjoints, especially for the frame data. He has poor aerial mobility and bad ground speed as well .
Every character makes you feel like this tbh. Fleet walls you with side B, Ranno tech chases you forever, Zetter frame 1 neutral Bs you mid-combo or stuffs approaches with side B and converts into a billion damage, Clarien presses any button and beats your approach out, etc. It is the ability to be unpredictable that makes any of it good for Orcane. If Orcane is just trying to tilt and nair or reverse fair you a bunch, you can just hit him first since he's not disjointed and not as fast as someone like Zetterburn. If he's spamming bubbles, rush him as he's spitting neutral B or just parry any of it. Orcane doesn't have an actually safe approach option and has to constantly risk himself for these conversions, unless you specifically stand on puddle, but it's the mixup between a fakeout, grab, RAR bair, hydroplane dstrong, or any of his other fast options that make him function.
@celestialspark5697 Honestly I don't think it's the same with the other characters. Orcane stands out right now as a bit annoying and that's because he does not need to mixup his approaches. I am not saying the character is easy or overpowered but the counterplay against his options is very hard and you can see Leffens opponents struggling with it, even if Leffen uses the same option three times in a row. I also haven't seen anyone be able to beat a good Orcane in the ways you described.
I think this stuff will get toned down as people parry more. Can parry orcane bubble down b spam, can parry fleet side b, parry kragg rock/sideb/downb, etc
@@EightThumbsUp Parry isn't quite as strong as Rivals 1 for this since it's not that fast to come out, but for stuff like "Orcane is not going to approach until he spaces neutral B to catch me on the puddle, and there he goes to that distance again right now", you can absolutely get a parry off and land a conversion off it, or also just beat out the projectile. Parrying Kragg down B is super real and leads to a hard punish, but you also can just lose the footsies game if you're playing so disciplined that you're trying to always be ready for it. I think people will just get better at pressuring and pressing advantage to disallow these safe setups and ideal spacing at least as much as they'll be learning to parry.
Good, I finished watching the other two hour video of Leff playing Orcane just in time for this video to be posted.
gotta be the worst webcam placement i've seen thus far
here to boost the algo, loving rivals 2 content :)
Rank silver me trying to mimic your playstyle. My fingers cannot keep up with what my brain is trying to do
I have the opposite problem, my brain can't keep up with what my fingers are doing.
I hope somebody puts out an orcane lab routine sometime soon. I'm too stupid to know what to practice.

Lmao they did that on purpose
you can still do waveshine into all of zetter's smash attacks
It makes sense that it is harder to execute his shine confirms. Zetter is just a nerfed Fox/Wolf hybrid.
