Sure I understand your point :) I make tutorials because that's the intention. But for something this long to make I don't think I'll be able to break it down to make something that is easily digestable because there are just too many steps. I have a limited palette on for my gouache set, I actually only used primary colours, which makes colour mixing more complex for beginners (which a lot of my audience are according to comments I've read)-and as you can see from this painting there are many colours. I don't think it's possible to name each percentage of colour I used for this 🤣 So it's not the fact that I don't want to share my knowledge, but I just don't think this is something that would turn out well and understandable as a tutorial (at least for me). I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from as well :))
@@Nianiani oh yes, I understand your pov. I appreciate this is very time consuming and a lot of effort is used to paint let alone record, add music and voice overs and edit a video. I love your videos even more for it. I like to think as a beginner in watercolor and soon other mediums that the term 'play' is a good way to just learn and enjoy the process of painting, even as you shared your insight about the white paints you have, we learn through 'playing' for ourselves and not just watching a video. I think just you sharing that you learned something new you discovered while painting is an indication of being an excellent tutor - thank you. You are doing extremely well and I am very grateful. I didn't mean to make a discomfort - very sorry.
@@IK-wi9pm Oh nono it's very fine. Sharing thoughts are always welcome and I'm very thankful for your understanding (or maybe I'm the one who missunderstood) xD I don't feel like I'm good enough with the medium yet, and I need to make more discoveries myself before I can even start making beginner tutorials. With watercolours, I feel like I can manipulate my personal steps to break it down and turn it into something more understandable for beginners, whereas with gouache, I'm definitelly jumping around more to find what works. I'm just learning as you say by "playing" for the time being :D

Gorgeous as usual, Nia! Titanium white watercolout is opaque, the Chinese white is less opaque and zinc white is the most transparent. I watch the Art Sherpa who does mainly acrylic but more and more watercolour as time and demand increase. She uses Zinc white for blending,, it gives a smoother transition for things like clouds in acrylic so it should work the same with gouache, I think. I use Titanium white mostly and Dr Martin's Bleed proof white for places you want to be kept really white. I hope this helps you for a change 🤗❤ you teach me so much. Thank you again. Do you have a Facebook page? I don't use Instagram, it is too hard to figure out how to use it.
Thank you for this info! I'm not sure why it was turning that way because I used the titanium white straight out of the tube and I tried using it again for my food illustrations and I had to make a few layers to get the opacity I needed :/ I felt like zinc white is opaque because that's that one that I've been using for all my food illustrations and it works out well >
@@Nianiani my pleasure, try a jar of Dr Martin's bleed proof white or try a new Titanium white, I don't know why it wouldn't work, I find it more opaque than the WN tube of white gouache i bought.

i think it turned out beautiful. i'm not sure what you can get out there but you might have a look at arteza.com.i have been very happy with their water color pencils. i have not used gouache myself (though i have been curious about it) is it a bit like using watered down acrylics or more like heavier versions of say buff titanium watercolor only with more vibrant colors?
Arteza reached out to me to try out their products, but unfortunately they don't ship to my country (a lot of things don't ship do Indonesia) haha Gouache is an opaque watercolour.
