They make their own rules, and its something I personally appreciate.They also dont let the "rules" stop them from making something beautiful that they are really proud of which I also appreciate. Also most artists i enjoy watching dont really count fine liners and gel pens as art supplies unless they are the whole point of the video lols. Just my thoughts haha

I’ve tried making my own from an old and rinsed light grey marker but it’s a nightmare getting the tips clean enough. So I bought a blender that I just refill with alcohol when it’s dried out. Otherwise I agree that it feels like a ripoff.
Copic colorless blender ink isn't rubbing alcohol and you can actually destroy your marker by trying to use it on your makers

I agree, with the colorless blender being a paintbrush. I doubted that he could make something entirely with the blender. I admire him for all he does but this in particular isn't too great.

ThaWayToThaDish yeah "then make it yourself" is a crappy excuse, Jazza title was misleading, this challenge wasn't done by a color blender alone, while the title and thumbnail shows otherwise, this challenge is meant to be impossible, Jazza using a little trick to add colours and do "it" he really didn't do it, he made art while implying other markers Ink over a color blender, therefore he used other markers and this might be the first challenge he lost, it's impossible to begin with, and doing some tricks to do it just plainly changed the entire purpose of the challenge, so Jazza did BAD with Color blender challenge, he FAILED, on the other hand Jazza did AMAZING on using the color blender as a paint brush challenge, and he NAILED this other challenge

Again, he only did what he could to the best of his abilities (and did awesome) but also leaving open range for people pointing out some inconsistency in what's the purpose of this challenge is since the title doesn't quite match up. Use EVERY single marker you have in one piece of art!!
That can be easily cheated by putting dots everywhere. How about using every marker but change everytime you remove the pen off the paper? And you can't use the same one twice.

Very nice result. Actually, I'm surprised that you didn't use the colorless blender like that before. That's one of the first techniques I learned 16 years ago (through some books and artist meetings at conventions, youtube wasn't the place to learn stuff back then). Especially when you have a limited color palette, you can blend like that or even create a lighter color. I used to use a glass or porcellain plate (or anything with a surface that doesn't suck the ink), on wich I applied the color I want to use and then picked it up with the blender. I also got the habit of applying one or two layers of blender on the area I want to color first (I believe the blending is smoother then).
However, your markers are not ruined. You can clean the tips easily with rubbing alcohol. That's pretty much what is inside the colorless blender anyway (for cleaning you can also use nail polish remover). Just pour some of the alcohol into a bowl (or any other small container, you don't need much). Remove the tips that need to be cleaned in the same way you do when you want to refill a marker. Throw them into the container with alcohol and let them soak for a bit. You may need to shake it up a bit or twirl. When the tip is colorless again, take it out and put it back into the marker. Don't wait until it dried, there's no need.
While the tips are soaking you could refill the markers. Btw, I refill my colorless blender with rubbing alcohol for a while now. I use it a lot more than most people, I guess. The smell is a bit more intense, otherwise the only difference is the price. For the same price as a refill bottle from copic I can get a liter of rubbing alcohol.

While I adore the final art at the end, and applaud the creative solution to making an art piece despite not having colored ink in the colorless blender, I don’t entirely see how this was different from making a usual art piece with the regular markers.

@Manga Fury It could also warp the paper if it's applied really heavily. So could he then be methodical in his application of the colorless blender to create patterns through warping, which would be visible depending on the lighting situation and how shadows form?
It wouldn't work. Unless the colourless blender was stained (from previous use) nothing would show up. Copics are incredibly good quality - the blender doesn't show up at all. It's invisible. You would see a blank page.
Manga Fury Nah. I own a Copic and a Promarker colourless blender. It basically just lets the pigment in the marker move around better. No colour at all.

I'm pretty sure you could just buy new nibs for the colorless blenders instead of buying entirely new markers. Even if the colors from the other inks soaked into the barrel of the marker, you could get that out after refilling the marker again with the colorless ink.
