I have that system in my 2012 Golf. You can change it to QWERTY in the settings. Also, I find it easier to input the destination address in reverse. For example, enter city, then street, then house number. It always seems to find it that way.
I would say the safest thing that you can afford to see them scratch/bang up. If you're looking at something new, the Civic, Mazda3, Focus, Fusion, Malibu and Accord all got a top safety pick + rating from the IIHS.
Nice review as always - thanks! I have the 2012 Mk VI Golf and I've been disappointed with the media system. This Tiguan version doesn't look better at all. I've heard however that it's possible to modify and swap the stock system for a mini-tablet (actually a dock) installed in place of the screen, and it seems like a brilliant idea. You could then run all your music and also your nav software of choice on a nicer much larger screen which is fully removable, constantly updated and possibly already synched with your life. Any idea what the problems are or would be? I'm not sure if this is good or bad idea and whether it will void warranty etc. In any case it seems crazy that VW wouldn't just offer 'get a free iPad mini when you buy a new golf," and stop putting in these completely underwhelming systems.
I have this system in my brand new Tiguan and have to report its the worst sounding system i have had in a car, i have got to the point of not being able to listen to music anymore. The sound is extremely shrill and tinny and has literally hurt my ears. I do a lot of miles and this has really taken the shine of what is a great car otherwise. I have exhausted the different settings both on the system and on my iPod. Anyone who could help i would love to hear from.
+munromunro Mine is fine, infact great,But I don't use an ipod cos I don't see the point when you can just plug in usb drive for your music.Hope this helps.

QWERTY keyboard can be selected in system settings
I loved this simple little radio in my 2011 TDI. Wasn't missing anything except hd radio. My new 2021 is actually worse missing mute, cd, sd and nav.
Hi, I have Questions About That Cat navigation. Is it Possible to save the position ( location)-For Example -Where am I right now.
Has this got internal Bluetooth built in or did you have to buy separate connectors for the Bluetooth?
All VW models in the USA now have standard Bluetooth from what I am told.

Can a passenger enter new destinations while the car is moving? Or does it have to be at a stop? Thanks!
What cars do you recommend on buying for a teenager?

That has nothing to do with the head unit.
