MJ Ballooning | 2023 - End of Season Video

Hello everyone! This week marks the end of the this years flying season. Usually on this annual post we’d write what a fantastic year of flying we’ve had; in reality 2023 has been a real challenge for balloonists across the UK with changeable weather, but we’ve made the best of it!
Memorable moments include flying Slick from the Bath Royal Crescent, Ashton Court with Sonic and Action Man when hundreds of you turned up to watch and secretly checking Sonic’s velcros the weekend before the fiesta at 3am in the pitch black ahead of the big reveal. Plus of course the Midlands Air Festival, Bristol Balloon Fiesta and all other events; Exeter, Telford, Northampton and Longleat.
Snow White joined our fleet of special shapes in May, later in the year accompanied by our most well-known additions Sonic the Hedgehog and Action Man. We’re absolutely thrilled to be looking after these balloons and preserving them for years to come.
September saw the Orange take to the skies for the first time under our ownership, which was another highlight. Maxwell House, Choc Dips and Joycam Lips have all been inflated / flown this year too!
A huge thanks to our team for always being there to help with the shapes rain or shine. If you’re Bristol based and would like to get involved in helping us load up, transport and inflate our balloons, please send us a message! Thanks to pilots Bradley, Craig, Doug, Derek, Dave, Jerry and Steve.
And thanks to YOU for supporting us at MJ Ballooning all year round with your messages, comments and pictures. It’s been a pleasure meeting so many of you whether at Ashton Court or away at a balloon festival. Also a warm welcome to any new page followers!
Live Flight Updates are now paused and will be live again from 1st April 2024 with a brand new spotters guide sheet available for download in the new year.
The shapes are now safely packed away for the winter (Snow White needs her beauty sleep!) and it’s time for a well earned rest for us all.
