“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT Хобби
I created a game for my son when he was still playing with the wooden Thomas the Tank Engine trains. I had a list of operations listed on a card and with a dice roll you had to follow the directions. Putting the track together in different configurations made each game (op session) unique.
That's really cool!
The fun thing is that if you do not have a real model railroad this works totally fine in digital layouts! (Fx in trainz TSW or something else where you can drive trains on a layout)
Great video! I appreciate getting to see the "Hand/skewer of God", it makes me feel better when I have to do it on my little layout. It took longer than I care to admit to learn that's how the uncoupling is done
heck yeah, can't wait to try this with my layout once i'm done laying the track
Awesome!
Your "The Train Game" is brilliant. Thank you. I can imagine it being expanded to include any trackplan, not limited to a Yard.
Thanks for the business shout outs. I checked out Trains in the Valley. I'm going to be ordering from them soon. Great video as well.
Hey Jimmy! Are going to be attending the train show at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in May? I would love to be able to meet you!
fun
Great fun, thank you.
Many moons ago, I developed something similar to play with my daughter using her Thomas the Tank Engine layout. It was card based, each card told which car to take to which location, IE 'Take the milk car to the farm,' then another card, 'Take the milk car to the station.' It gave us structure in our play.
Get a tanker out and bring it over to the other side of the layout, the switching moves took 20 minutes for him lol it’s a good start
Hi Jimmy. Question for future coffee and trains. I don’t like my big hand knocking trains around when doing switching. I was once told that the magnetic track was to problematic to use, if I convert all my cars to micro trains couplers would it cause accidental decoupling or not work smooth to have a magnetic track segment leading into switching area?
To add to this (really good) question, are there any technologies/products out there or on the horizon that will enable better/more reliable remote uncoupling?
Off topic... i was on Reddit a couple days ago when a newbie ask where they could learn the basic of the hobby. 5+ people referred him to your YT channel, more than anyone else. Thought you should know!
its like Hanoi tower game
How would I start to recreate my home town train station? I have photos and a 3D printer but don’t know where to start. Recommendations? (N/scale)
Could you make a video on how to weather UNI track please?
Hey, good morning! New subscriber here. Currently drinking Folgers easy on your stomach decaf. My question is, I'm starting a new train layout from scratch, in my basement. What do you recommend using to set on? I have a few fold up tabled, but I feel they would be uneven.
Folding Tables are always a good start. You can try to level it out with boards on the tables. Once you are comfortable with that, you can go with custom benchwork.
I've bought from 'trains in the valley'.
What are you using to uncouple the rolling stock?
I normally use a bamboo skewer. I am using a small screwdriver in this video.
@@DIYDigitalRailroad Thanks, I'm new to N Scale in the process of developing a layout. Lots top learn.
Why did u have so many issues with the Loco and the cars on that one turn out?
That turnout is my problem child. It causes regular derailments and shorts. If it was on my mainline, I would’ve ripped it out already.
@@DIYDigitalRailroad I've got one of those I'm ripping out today Unfortunately. Hopefully it gets figured out one day. Thanks for the all the info ✌️
I've tried to enjoy switching but it just feels tedious to me :/
There should not be any playing games with Model Railroading, this is serious business.
Next you are going to try to tell me that we are just playing with toys.
(This is sarcasm, in case it is not obvious.)
