This dance for me evokes imaginary of courtship, preservation of modesty (the women) knights and fair maidens, the music is somewhat reminiscent of the Italian renaissance and English late 16th century. I never tire of watching these videos, such class and elegance, yet a display of strength and stamina. Beautiful!!!

Thorny 60: Those are Circassians ( indigenous people of the Caucasus ) & this is the noble dance of the princes it is very very old dance & this tribe is Kabardian one of 12 Circassian tribes, they are in Kabardina - Balkaria the capital is Nalchik. All of the costumes and most of the dances in the region are originally from the Circassians, The Cossack, Georgians &&&&&&&& did steal it & copy it from the Circassians.
I have watched so many different performances of this. Indeed the music is hypnotic, calming, pleasant. Yes they all are so graceful and dignified. Pleasant people!

It must have been painful for the prince to go en pointe on tarmac. This dancing is not for the faint hearted even though it looks so graceful and delicate. Are these the top group? I’ve seen them in several videos and they never fail to impress. I only discovered this incredible dance a week ago and I can’t get enough of it.
