Thanks Dr. Travis. It's a good housekeeping task to download the flat file every month or if you are doing a major update. If something messed up, you always have a backup of your catalog.
Thanks for the video Travis; this into is very helpful indeed. However, I would like to point out that, from what Amazon Support has told me, the information in the Category Listings Report only lists the attribute data for BRANDS that you OWN. You cannot get this data for the rest of the products in your Amazon listings. I seem to recall that you used to be able to get this detailed information for all of the products you were selling. That made it easier to correct information (titles, bullet points, etc) that had gone awry in the product listing.
Hello! For some reason the dropdown menus don't work in my flat file. I'm using Google Sheet and I've already changed all the possible settings. Could someone help me with this issue?
I'm not sure if that is the same, but I was enabled to have a flat file filled with my chosen items. This is how it works by default on Vendor account, no need to ask there. However, on Seller, it's just a temporary feature and after a few days, it is deactivated. To activate, I need to ask for it via support. The problem is, I always forgot how it is properly named, so I have to describe it. I hope that your method is a permanent one. I will definitely try it out. P.S. I just can't imagine how endless stupid some must be for providing flat files that are empty... This is just beyond my understanding, but then again, there are many things on Amazon that are unexplainable and illogical, seemingly put there, just to piss you off.
I found this video very useful. I even bookmarked it so that I could follow along when I need to do this. Unfortunately, Amazon has made a lot of changes since this video was made, and so the advice given here seems no longer to be relevant. If there is a new video, or new step-by-step instructions that sync up with the new-fangled navigational ways of Amazon, please let me know.

Hi Travis, thank you for this informative video. But I requested this category listing report, for some reason it was all blank when I downloaded it. Any feedbacks on what might have happened? Thank you.
Thanks for this awesome tip Travis! Hey question. So, when you downloaded the category report and had all your dozens of SKUS on there, you deleted them all except the one you wanted to change. So, when you do the partial updated it only updates that one SKU right? I always get a little freaked out that it will wipe out the whole catalogue. also, Amazon said for one of our listings that is not updating, that we need to delete the SKU then, reupload it. Would this flat file work the exact same way to upload the product after deleting it? Say you could still do a "partial" update, but have all the exact same fields filled out as before? It scares me to think of deleting the product then having to reupload it.😯 Brad
@@ProfitablePineapple Thanks Travis. Would you be able to do a video on that too, the delete and the reupload? Nobody seems to do have this example from searching.

I've never used Google Sheets. You need to use excel.
Incredibly helpful. Thank you, brother!

Should work just fine.
We do delete all and do partial updates.
We actually did what you have to do. It worked.

@sam dope wait 24-48 hours after a successful flat file was uploaded. Then reach out to support of still not fixed.
