i was invited to do the all south honor band in february!!! i’m a freshman!! and i was the only euphonium in my school to get invited 😁😁 i’m soooooo excited!!!
Jaxson, that’s how it was for me in 1971. Back in those days no one played Euphonium. The baritone (3-valve) horn was too much and everywhere. I began playing Euphonium as soon as I could talk my dad into buying me YEP-321, four valve, non-compensating Euphonium. My horn has been the Besson Sterling, burnished and frosted on the external bell and other valve tubes. It’s a beautiful instrument. You’ll have to play for me Jax, I’m not doing so, currently.
As always I loved this. You are so smooth and calming when you play. I will be listening to this a long time after Christmas is over. Some songs sort of go away after Christmas but I like most of them all year round. Thank you so, so much. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year with your family.
Happy Monday friends! We'd like to wish everyone celebrating a Merry Christmas with this gorgeous version of "O Holy Night" made for you by Drew Fennell. Hope you enjoy both euphonium solo with piano and solo with piano and optional quartet versions. As usual, don't forget to show love and support by liking, sharing and commenting. Sheet Music in two keys of Eb and Bb along with transposing parts and backing tracks are available at www.matonizz.com/product/o-holy-night/ Have a great Holidays everyone!
I’m so curious, so I ended up buying myself my every own euphonium and I was wanted to upgrade my mouthpiece, what kind of mouthpiece would you recommend I use cause I currently have just a 12C?
@@marioluigifans126 Any DW 4 or Schilke 51 would be quite standard, time tested, affordable mouthpieces. DW a bit better for solo playing while Schilke I would recommend for cleaner, ensemble based playing. Hope this helps :)

My son was a frosh at all-south last year as well; you must have crossed his path at some point! Jonas was principal chair; long brown curly hair

I bought myself a Birthday/Christmas present of a new 4 valve baritone(schagerl) and played along with you! You made me sound good!
Best gift there is! And thank you :)
Good to see you again, my euphonium brother! I appreciate your performances.

Glad you enjoyed it! I assume you preferred version with quartet? :)
@@Matonizz yeah but still both were great
Amazing how we all get higher notes by using our foreheads😁
Yep, finally decoded my secret to high range. My massive forehead :D Glad you enjoyed it Wayne!
Also, the Keith Wilkinson arrangement lacks the ornamentation in the melody line and it’s a little more elegant.
