- Blood in the urine (known as hematuria) is a common occurrence that elicits prostate cancer fears in many men and usually results in an uncomfortable cystoscopy to check for the presence of bladder cancer. In this video, PCRI's CEO, Alex Scholz, asks Executive Director, Mark Scholz, MD, about hematuria, whether it is a symptom of prostate cancer, and Dr. Scholz offers information about a urine test that could circumvent the need for an invasive cystoscopy.

Blood in the urine is very rarely an indicator of prostate cancer. More commonly it is a symptom of previous radiation, bladder cancer, kidney stones, or prostatitis.
1:03 Historically, a cystoscopy was required to test for the presence of bladder cancer; however, there is now a urine test called CXbladder that can be a substitute for the cystoscopy. A scan would still be required to check for kidney stones and other diagnostic criteria.

Saying that a cystoscopy is “kind of unpleasant” is an understatement. I had one as part of my prostate cancer diagnosis and I can attest that having a metal rod inserted up there is extremely unpleasant. My urologist scheduled the procedure without telling me what it was, which did not help the situation. Regardless, it was necessary to rule out kidney issues. Don’t let fear of unpleasantness deter you, however, because it’s a short procedure that will be over before you know it and it might save your life.
My blood wasn't prostate cancer.. it was kidney cancer. 2.5 years later I'm missing a kidney but doing fine... Just got back from a 2 hour bike ride! Stay Positive!

For months blood and clots in urine consecutive to prostate radiation. Had bladder rinced and 2 blood bags tranfused. 0:58 0:58 No improvement.
Finally had hyperbaric oxygen therapy ( 40 sessions prescribed, bleeding stopped after 11 ). Now one year without blood. Therapy performed at military hospital used to treat severe burns .
In Canada..Started peeing a little blood and the doctor only did a basic urine test for UTI and I guess they did not detect anything because I did not get a callback. I wish they did more tests. I would pay $300 for this cxbladder test. It is freaking me out. No clue where to even get the test done. I have no personal doctor here
Alright I’m pissing blood. All the info I could really give is just it’s brownish, and it doesn’t hurt. Worried it may be a stone cause I’m pissing very often (atleast 10 minutes apart)
I think you should drink alot of water and check if it's normal again, If not i think it is happening due to kidney stones. And checkout your doc...

I was peeing blood for 30 years. Once I went fruitarian (Genesis 1:29) and stopped with the tea and coffee and drank a gallon of distilled water a day I passed the stones and it did not come back in 11 years.

I had hematuria the other day, went to ER, they prescribed antibiotics (cipro) and it has cleared up. Will see urologist. But I also have an umbilical hernia located near my right bladder. Do you know if it's possible for the hernia, under stress, to bleed into the urethra, causing hematuria? Thanks.
I find it difficult to understand why more Urologists are not using CXbladder, especially in this age of social distancing. It is certainly easier for a patient to send a urine sample than do a cystoscopy and the test may be more accurate than cystoscopy. Is their a legitimate reason some Urologists are not using it?

1st of all stop asking about having blood in your urine on here and stop googling it. Go to the doctor and they will tell you. My step daughter got us infected with the omicron and we were almost torn to shit. After getting pass the virus on, February 15th I came home from work to find blood in my urine so the next day I went in to our local med center and did a urine and blood test. I went home and spent 3 days without seeing any blood but then it came back again. Today February 22 I saw my doctor and they went through my urine and blood test to find everything normal. I also did another urine test this morning and it came out normal with no blood showing up. Yes it's scary but never ever hold back on going to the doctor because you'll regret it, as of now I'm told to keep an eye on my urine and if any pain occurs to call the doctor a.s.a.p I scheduled follow up and if the blood goes away I no longer need to get tested but your doctor will tell you what's going on and will order more testing if needed. Please do not panic and seek medical attention as it could be something serious and if caught early it can save your life.
What type of doctor did you go to? A hematologist? The soonest available hematologist at my nearest hospital is in 20 hours and I'm kinda freaking out cuz it looks like a lot of blood.
I don't know if I should drink a lot of water or only just enough to be hydrated.

@@FullchanAnon I didn't experience any pain after the omicron, but while I had the omicron I didn't drink water because I only drink bottled water and I had mild pain every time I urine, but I didn't see any blood till I got over the virus. Some time even a small grain can cause bleeding as it exit out leaving damage tissue.

I've just urinated and red blood with a clot came out. I've found blood twice before but only once and a year apart. The last time I found it I went to doctors and had a urine sample test. I never received a reply though.
Have they gotten back to you? I'm urinating a lot and it's cola colored and it's freaking me the fuck out. Doctor doesn't come till the next 24 hours though

So i went to the doctor recently because i noticed that i saw blood in my urine. I thought maybe it was a uti, kidney stones, or something else. They checked and told me that there was no blood in the pee, just extra protein... and i think i just saw pee in the urine today as well... what is it? I dont want this to be an unnoticed tumor or cancer that was unchecked by the nurses.... Ive also been having abdominal paid and the area below my abdominal sometimes hurts as well..

Had two of them I agree. Now I drink a gallon a day of distilled waters and cut out all animal products (Genesis 1:29). No tea or coffee. Eleven years this worked. I went back to cheese and got kidney stones and a stroke.

@@xBravo412x the test results came back negative for cancer and they looked at my bladder and kidneys and did not find any growths. They did not determine why I have red blood cells in my urine

In my case I’m 29 and have been told that after a urine test I have blood which isn’t visible by the eye. I’m pretty sure this has been like this for years. What could this be? Anybody with a similar issue?

Husnain Rana i got surgery it was the most painful shit of my life worse than kidney stones and it felt like i was pissing shards of glass but i got treatment by scheduling an apt with a urologist and he did my surgery it was kidney stones
I bleed during sexual intercourse only then after I pee once are twice my urine is clear again. I do get back pain and abdominal pain sometimes
