Mrs. Bryer, your erudite and articulate testimony of your life, during those horrific years, is deeply moving and disturbing, and should be shown to Grade 7 Students everywhere. I will forever be astounded by Survivors, who were forced to endure trauma upon trauma, and to do it while cold, starving, beaten, and often infested with lice. I am so glad that you went on to marry and raise a family - you and your husband look like Matinee Idols in your beautiful Wedding Photo, and as a mature woman you are incredibly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your important story - those in positions of power must NEVER FORGET how fascists were allowed to destroy the leading democracy in Europe, and turn it into a killing machine. “Those who do not learn from History are doomed to repeat it”. Blessings to you and your family.

I used to work at a bank with an old polish lady and every Friday she would eat an entire smoked fish for lunch. All that was left was the bones. And the stories she would tell. She was a Holocaust survivor. She proudly wore her tattoo. Bless her. She taught this young hillbilly girl so many lessons.

I started experiencing these survivors accounts during Covid lockdown, and ive found them to be important to me. Im an 82-year-old grandmother and few things beyond family mean anything to me now. I feel transported by the transcendence and power of these survivors heroic stories. And i recommend them to everyone. I get impatient with how folks tend to turn away from this content. For Jewish South Africans who fled from Europe amidst holocaust - I wonder if their children and grandchildren end up relocating again in 2000’s and onwards to other countries like Canada and Australia. Pity this girl doing this interview didn’t listen more carefully often asking things that this lady had already explained. Several times this interviewer did this. Henia explains the snow was red with peoples blood as they were shot during that notorious death March that we have all heard about, a few minutes later this girl says What was the weather like. She also says where was your mother when it was explained she was left behind & liberated by the Russians. Needs to pay attention & listen more. She did it several times, just plain rude.
How these people survived I’ll never know & there is no doubt that they probably lived with PTSD without it ever being diagnosed & I don’t doubt their children also suffered in many ways.

All of the survivors of the camps obviously were very lucky compared to the millions of people who were murdered in them.
It's actually the last part of your comment that I find the most disturbing: 'aryan looks' equals beauty ...

@@jumperonthelineIt’s probably harder to survive with horrendous memories & nightmares than oblivion. No one said aryan looks = beauty; it means non-Jewish in that context thus a tad less likely to be a candidate for persecution

This interviewer was rude and disrespectful to this beautiful and brave women .♥️You need to get more mature and respecful people to interview such beautiful and strong woman with such strong stories .I loved the Jewish women ♥️🇮🇱but shame on the women who interview her ☹️

She speaks so dispassionately. I wonder at it. So removed from these horrible stories as if she didn't fully internalize it though she must of.

This video was recorded 25-30 years ago! If she’s still alive (she was as of last year), Henia is now 98 years old.

She was born in 1925 so if still alive would now be 98. These videos were made some time ago.

@@jessicasinclair9208 I would think twice about dignifying such a comment with a response. Holocaust testimony comments are, sadly, rife with off-topic spam, deniers' micro provocations, and remarks that don't quite fall to the level of reportable but nonetheless seem inappropriate. That said, I salute your good will.

That Mrs Bryer survived is a testiment to her strength. Her reward for surviving was beautifully depicted in the photos of her future encapsulated in her grandchildren.
