I do like that a lot of the High Republic Jedi are subtly (and not so subtly) arrogant, overly self-sure and righteous, and in contrast Sol leans more to the Qui-Gon side of the Jedi, bothered by how bogged down the Jedi can get in politics and understands their own arrogance.

I'm sincerely asking, are you saying that you would have loved if they had gone with another project completely, or are you saying that there was anything about this show and the way it's been described and slowly introduced to us that made you believe that it would center around the Sith? i too thought it was slow to start, i wasnt up in arms like half of the critics or reviewers, and i choose to reserve judgement until i see the entire series instead of just 2 episodes.... also i have a rule of 3 in place, where if i watch something i need to see at least 3 episodes before i know if i like it or not.... i appreciate your honesty about it and that you arent just up in arms over woke culture like every other review out there in my youtube feed right now.... while woke culture is a modern problem that needs to change it doesnt seem fair to listen to everybody saying that the series is a flop or that star wars is dead, etc etc when ive seen shows and video games take 10+ hours before it starts to take off. so thank you for not doing that and id just like to put it out there that not everyone has knowledge of how it was in the old and high republic days and before that, or know the differences in how the people back then were and what each era was like so alot of early reviews might be misguided and unfair

It’s clear that KK and her acolyte Leslye Headland want to make the Jedi seem as evil as the Sith so they can then get the viewer to sympathize with the force witches or whatever the hell they are. They want Star Wars to become gynocentric just like everything else Disney touched these days.
For all their flaws the Jedi have a high moral standard that they strive towards. The Sith have nothing like that and the characters in the acolyte equate victimhood as righteousness.
The reason we love Star Wars is it provides a framework for “playing” with morality in a fictional way. Light vs Dark, Good vs Evil, Jedi vs Sith. They are moving trying to move Star Wars away from this. What they’ll find in the end is that as soon as you move Star Wars away from Good vs Evil it ceases to be Star Wars. The Acolyte is provably NOT Star Wars.
So no, Star Wars is not evolving. Star Wars will evolve when it’s story telling is under the stewardship of people who love it and understand what makes it great. People who know the feeling we all get when we see that blue text right before exploding into the Main Theme and opening crawl.

I greatly enjoyed the two-part premiere of _The Acolyte_
I wouldn't call it perfect, but certainly promising. I was, however, a tad disappointed that a certain character was killed so quickly becuz I was hoping we'd see more of her as the story progresses.
I clearly see the influence of the Jedi of the Old Republic in this series, in how the Jedi dress as well as their members having yellow or even purple lightsabers besides the standard blue and green. But I can also see the Jedi already being on the path of their own self-destruction by how Master Vernestra Rwoh wanted to make an example of Osha when Osha was mistakenly believed to be a jedi killer, purely becuz Rwoh was concerned by the idea of word getting out to the Jedi Order's political enemies that a former padawan had killed a jedi. Not to mention I felt the knight Yord Fandar was kind of arrogant and pigheaded.
Master Sol is the only Jedi I see having true value for the Jedi way while also retaining a genuinely compassionate mind-set as well as being open minded and willing to engage in out-of-the-box thinking.
But what truly intrigues me is a theory I came to while watching both episodes... and that theory is, that it is possible that Osha and her twin sister Mae are a Dyad, two who are one in the Force, the light and dark contrasting one yet defined by the other. Osha experienced a Force vision (despite her Force abilities atrophying since her resignation from the Order) where she recalled a poem she and Mae shared: “You’re with me, I’m with you, always one, but born as two. As above sit the stars and below lies the seas, I give you, you, and you give me, me."
This seems to indicate the sisters are connected by more than blood and tragedy, and I noticed subtle clues during the two-parter... that leads me to believe that the Jedi (specifically Indara, Torbin, Kelnacca, and Sol) are the ones truly responsible for what happened to Mae and the fire that killed her and her sister's parents since Mae is hunting thz four jedi specifically, having crossed Indara and Torbin off her list
Another clue I saw was Jedi Master Torbin's willing suicide and his heartfelt apologies to Mae before he died. Mae gave Torbin the choice between either confessing to the Jedi Council or taking his life, and Torbin chose the latter. This indicates that whatever wrong Torbin did to Mae was so awful that he could not bear the shame of confessing to his peers in the Order and so chose the coward's way out.
This leads me to suspect that thz four Jedi did something to the sisters in an attempt to forge between Osha and Mae a Force Dyad, but something went wrong, either causing Mae to light the fire or something or someone else lit the flame and Mae was blamed. Even Osha believes Mae lit the fire and killed their family and becuz of that trauma she wants revenge and is unable to let go of the past. Whether the dyad succeeded or not, there is indeed a connection between the sisters tho it seems Osha felt the connection given her visions while Mae did not, believing her sister was dead until she saw Osha with her own eyes.
Finally, the Master... I do indeed believe, or at least strongly suspect, that he is a Sith, and the fact even Mae duz not know his identity tracks with the Sith being so deeply in hiding as they prepare and conspire against the Jedi and the galaxy. I believe the Master is testing Mae, determining whether she is worthy of becoming his apprentice, and the words he stated do indeed resonate with what the Sith ultimately achieved, in destroying the "dream" by turning the galaxy against the Jedi and bringing down everything Jedi worked, built, and stood for. This indicates the Master is likely the Sith Master, as in he succeeded in overthrowing and killing his own master to take his place and so is now looking for a worthy pupil to carry on the Sith's secret legacy
I'm enjoying _The Acolyte_ very much and look forward to where it will take us!

This was a great video, hey Stupendous, could you make a new video on why the empire ground forces lost so easily to the Ewoks on Endor, even after the Empire knew the rebel secret base was on Endor, and even had the advantage, strategy, and the means to easily crush them, they were easily overrun, and defeated by the small Ewoks that used staves, stones, and slingshots, and some old fashioned wooden traps, while the Empire had blasters, and soo many means to mow down the Ewoks like they were nothing, they should have easily beat the Ewoks, and yet failed miserably. I think it would be an interesting video. Please and thank you if you do it.

smh People are so consumed with wanting to hate SW that they can't see decent Star wars right in front of them. OF COURSE Disney could still screw it up in later episodes, but any youtuber saying this was "terrible" is just pandering to mindless haters and just for views. I liked the first 2 episodes of Acolyte. The look and feel was right, I liked the aliens, I like all the actors in all the roles (so far). I really liked the prison ship escape /crashing onto the planet scene. I like how she failed at her attempt at Force TK to grab Pip. I liked the warden droid. It wasn't breathtaking, but the first 2 episodes weren't half bad. And they *almost* had real SW music (almost!). Hope the show gets better.

@@natecward8322I agree, and this show is setup to show how the Sith were able to come back into power. Jedi were NEVER meant to be perfect. Fundamentally good yes, but flawed. Obi Wan and Yoda wanted Luke to kill Vader, didn’t believe he was capable of being redeemed. They were also so doggedly committed to their traditions and rules that Yoda very nearly refused to train Luke. Had it not been for Obi-Wan, Yoda would likely have told Luke to kick rocks. The very rise of Palpatine shows the flaws of the Jedi.
Ignoring the Jedi’s flaws and pretending they are 100% good is ignoring all of the established cannon. For instance does anyone think that all parents give up their children willingly to the Jedi when they are force to sensitive? I can’t imagine there would be many parents at all who would agree to that. So how would the Jedi manage to recruit at all if they didn’t take children by either physical force or legal threats.

It's way too soon to determine wether it's worse or better in terms of story and implications for the lore (Maybe we should wait to know the story before judging the impact of the story....), but from a cinematic perspective, I thought that this was interesting. It felt more like an original movie split in several episodes.....The Mandalorian 100% feels like a series...Andor was kind of in between....to me this felt a bit like a 80's-90's movie but in episode form (so far).....and I have to say that I enjoyed that aspect.....(Not that I don't like the two other shows....I absolutely loved Andor as a whole, and loved many episodes of Mando). Parts of the movie reminded me more of The Matrix (You could assume that I'm talking about Carrie-Ann Moss, or about certain shots during combat scenes, but mainly I'm talking about the ambiance.....when we first see the main character waking up in her ship...the set, the overall feeling/ambiance...) Anyway, I'm positive so far.

Jedi actually are taught to use this more often so they can do their job more efficiently. It caused no to the other person since they’re not just forcefully ripping their thoughts from them.

Does a soldier walk around in peace time in BDUs that got torn up and bloodied from when they were shot? Why would these Jedi in a time of relative peace be wearing battle worn robes? People DO like to wear clean clothes. There are a lot of things that I found dumb about the show so far, like Mae leaving the poison vial at the scene of the crime, using a fire extinguisher in space (the fire wouldn't be there if it wasn't being fueled by something leaking out of the ship, there's no oxygen in space for a fire extinguisher to dilute,) why is Osha suddenly having these visions now but Mae is not, why does a small knife barely penetrating kill a Jedi Master when a lightsaber through the guts doesn't kill anyone anymore (possibly poison?) why did the Jedi let Mae's accomplice go without interrogating him about Mae's master which he clearly knows about, etc etc.
There are enough actual criticisms to make without scrapping the bottom of the barrel for "Jedi should wear battle damaged robes all the time."

What lost me was how a Jedi Master died to a simple distraction trick. This is Jedi honed by battling the Nihil. This is almost as bad as putting Luke Skywalker on an island and having him sulk as a hermit. The 2nd Jedi's death by suicide? A Jedi wouldn't do this. They don't give up in this manner. Life is too precious. 2 deaths don't create an answer to an error. The vow is made to become stronger as well. It doesn't create a weaker force user.
The cinematography is far too bland for this era. Especially the inside of their Jedi transport. Good grief, a bunch of spare parts during the Golden Age. There were some excellent references, but overall, it turned out to be lazy writing and moving further away from the original Star Wars films and story. Not closer.

I would rather listen to this video describe what is happening with this show rather than watch the show itself

Might as well just pretend star wars doesn't exist at that point lmao. Stick to the original 6. The show is good, man. Ur loss alone

To all the people saying it's brilliant, good and all this praise while looking down on those who criticize the Acolyte, just wait until episode 3.
But then, some people still think the last jedi is good, so they will continue their cope streak they've been on since 2017

Well red Twylik seems out and the shape of head does not look like Tenibris. So could Plaguis be under that mask 😷 is it possible

This show needs to take advantage of the period they are in and use YODA right away.

What I like about this show is getting away from all the future characters. It’s time to move on

Yeah, haven't seen the show yet but the time frame makes him alive and well into his lifespan.

He is, and he was already the grand master at this point, don't know if that will change in this show tho
