on the behalf of all iranians, we thank you. you don’t know how much this means to all of us to have someone who’s not iranian support us and use their voice to spread awareness. ever since the protests have started, seeing non-iranians support us and spread awareness has made me so emotional and i’ve cried a lot. i’m forever grateful to all of you who continue to support us. you’ve made me so happy and i thank you again for supporting us. ❤️
@Kids in Trouble Help Page you, people of Israel should know that Iranian people are not your enemies, this is a dirty propaganda from iran government and it's not true at all, our people haven't any problem with any country in the world but our radical islamuc government had, have and will have, this is the reality of historic country of iran. I'm not that much an emotional person, but I cry literally every single time that I hear this song. Thank you for being our voice. You are the first American that I see says Persian words with correct pronounciation. Thank you for respecting our language. ❤️
child labor: miss translation, its the story of a vagabond child who was upto waste bent over into public garbage can and a TV reporter asked him what are your wishes when you grow up? and the child asked the reporter "what is a wish? ". 😔 And he was old enough to supposed to know the meaning of the word. Thanks for the support. ♥🙏🏼✌🏼
Hello my lovelies. I have missed you all so much and I hope you are doing well. This has been a sad time for us all and I decided to help amplify Iranian voices by reacting to this beautiful and emotional song “Baraye” by Shervin Hajipour. I have been trying my best to stay informed about what’s going on over there and spread the word as much as I can. Thank you all for your kindness and support and may the Iranian people get the freedom and happiness that they deserve 💚🤍❤️ #mahsaamini Don’t forget to follow my Instagram @setardeanna
I am behind all the Iranian people especially the women in Iran and hope that there will be a revolution and you all gain your freedom. This song is so beautiful that I listen to it every day on RUclips. The lyrics are incredible. Thank you for streaming and supporting the Iranian people. 🌹🌹
Here are the explanations for a few things you didn't know in this song: 1- child labor: there are a lot of kids in Iran that they are forced to work at an early age because of poverty, most of them either are begging in the streets or selling things or cleaning your car windows at the red lights. 2- Afghan kids: Iran has a lot of Afghan immigrants, and unfortunately the government discriminate them a lot, like even kids who were born and raised in Iran but from Afghan parents don't become Iranian citizens and they don't even get birth certificate or any type of valid documentation/ ID. The government has a rule that Afghans can never own a property even if they have a million dollars in hand, they can't get drivers license, and much more... also a lot of Afghan kids are those child labor kids. 3- Valiasr Street: it's a very famous and important street in Tehran which is very long, goes all the way from the south of the city to the north rich neighborhoods of the city. It's very famous for its huge beautiful trees that was planted in the previous regim (Shah) but islamic republic does not maintain them well and they're cutting them off. Also the place I used to live in Iran before moving to Chicago was very close to Valiasr Street 🥺
And there’s a explanation left about the dogs that there’s no rights for animals in Iran specially for cats and dogs in Iran their live in streets and most of them are killed by government and also crazy people. 😢😢
Thank you girl! You look so young but still took your time to care and do your research about the lyrics. Thank you for doing this for all the people who can’t be their own voice. Thank you for your compassion from the other side of the world. You are a beautiful soul!
Thanks for reacting and being his and our voice🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 I had the same reaction when I heard the song The final part "baraye azadi" kills me everytime Kinda like my soul leaves my body within that part of the song. No matter if I'm persian or not, this is done by the power of emotion, not the language 🖤
When I first heard this song I cried a lot... pain and longing just overflow from every word... and you only want to hug all those who fight to support them, to give them strength, to reassure that what they are fighting for can be achieved... and to somehow protect them... everyone deserves freedom, freedom of choice and happiness. Love for Iran
Dear Deanna, thank you very much for being the voice of the oppressed and strange compatriots of my country, these days, everyone who wants freedom sings Shervin's song. 😞😞😞
When he said for child labor and his crushed dreams it is referring to an interview of a child whose job was looking through trash they asked him what is your dream and he answered what is a dream?
Thank you for being our voice =) To answer some of your questions: 1- It is illegal to dance in the streets in Iran specially if you're a woman so that's what "for dancing in the streets" means. We've been wanting to celebrate and dance in the streets for years but we'd be imprisoned for it if we do. 2- the one about child labor, there are many children forced to work because of poverty. There was this video of one particular child (whose "job" was to search the trashes for goods that could be sold) that went viral. In the video you see the interviewer asking him "what's your biggest dream?" and he answers "what does "dream" mean?" 3- Valiasr is a very famous and beautiful street in Tehran (Iran's capital) with beautiful old and very huge trees. The government dried up a bunch of them for personal gains. 4- The Afghans in general are treated very badly in Iran. Afghan kids are not allowed education and can't attend schools legally. 5- And lastly about the dogs, a few years ago the government showed up at a dog shelter and killed around 1600 dogs by shooting at them.
'Woman, Life, Feedom' and 'Men, Homeland, Rebuilding' are what men and women chant in support of each other in Iran. This is Iranian people versus their regime, men and women fighting together. Thank you so much for covering this, you are incredibly kind to use your platform for this sort to amplify the voice of Iranian people.
Dear Deanna, You are an admirable human being, we all appreciate your support. Hoping for the victory of this revolutionary movement of light over darkness. Woman Life Liberty
Hello dear Deanna, Thank you so so so very much for sympathy as well as empathy for people of IRAN. You will be loved by IRANIANS so so much. you are like a flower for us IRANIANS. IRAN LOVES YOU.
Force confessions are really common in Iran. He is still in danger and we have seen regime forces right behind him when he made that confession. Thank you for your support
Each line of this lyric has deep meaning and based on twitters by Iranians during this movement that started with "baraye" meaning "for". Pirouz is the name of cheetah cub that is native to Iran and it's on the verge of extinction (maybe 300 left), girl who wished to be a boy refers to girls banned to enter soccer stadium so they changed their appearance to look like boys, moments Hamed Esmaeilion with his daughter (he lost his wife and 9-year old daughter in PS752 Ukrainian airplane downed by IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), and so on. It's very difficult for non-Iranians to fully understand this lyric if they're not familiar with what's going on in Iran and what this fascist regime has done to this people in the past 43 years.
thank you for your presentation and responsibility as a human...we are proud of the women who are supporting our REVOLUTION and our Renaissance in IRAN...and finally thanks for using the right flag and the ICONIC FLAG of IRAN (THE LION AND THE SUN= SHIR-O-KHORSHID)... ZAN, ZENDEGI, AZADI✌✌✌✌
You are so sweet. This song is basically for the pain that Iranians feel about many things but not all and as you mentioned Shervin put some of them together that he gathered from people' tweets. Each line of lyrics has a story behind it that only Persians know it. You may watch Cojak Rap video for Shervin's song; Baraye. In comment section you can find that someone nicely explained each line for the people who liked to know the meaning of the song. Hope you enjoy it.
Thank you dear. You are so brave, aware of what is going on outside “America”. All we want is an ordinary life. All the little freedom you have and maybe take for granted. We will win and victory is close✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Dear Deanna, Thank you so much for reacting to this song BARAYE. When shervin says: Baraye koudankane afghani, he wants to talk about the situation of afghan children, who are ligally or illigally in iran and are not alowed to go to school in Iran based on IRI legislation. These afghan children work hard in Iran and live under poor conditions. May God bless you and many many thanks. Peace fraadom solidarity and happyness for all human beings. By the way, I am an 86 years old native of Isfahan/ Iran.
Thanks you Deanna for using your platform for spreading awarness about the situation and being voice for those who atm have none but are fighting for freedom in Iran . much appriciated ❤❤ and it is indeed an amazing and emotional song cuts down deep every time #mahsaami #zanzendegiazadi #Womenlifefreedom

Hi
I'm so touched to see you covering this short masterpiece and being our voice. Just don't know to thank you ❤
It's impossible for us to hear this song and not cry!
I'd like to shed some light on some of the verses if you're interested to know more:
* For dancing in the street --- Dancing is prohibited in Iran
* For the child labor and his dreams -- Many poor children bend into trash bins and have to find and deliver recyclable materials to their masters. The childhood life is simply taken from them. And there is a viral interview with one of those children about his dreams, and he answered: "What is a "dream"?"😢
He even didn't know the meaning of "dream" at age like 6-7!
* For "Valiasr" street and its worn trees -- This is the former "Pahlavi" street which is the longest and the most iconic street of Tehran with those beautiful trees on its both sides all the way from the south to the north of Tehran. And due to too many "illegal" constructions and a huge environmental mismanagement the trees are being worn rapidly. The Platanus trees with beautiful ~80 years old!
* Again Asian Cheetah (which are only surviving in Iran) are facing extinction due to terrible environmental mismanagement. And many environmental activists are imprisoned and being tortured for several years for the guilt of trying to save Cheetahs!
* For missing the murdered kids -- The picture is Hamed Esmaeilioun who lost his entire family when IRGC shot down the flight PS752 with two missiles!
* Many Afghan people are terribly treated by the regime. They are not given ID cards and proper right to educate, work, etc.
Basically this song is a very short list of all reasons why we're sacrificing our everything for a revolution to get rid of this filthy murderous regime.
I just love how you got many things right. You have such a pure kind soul.
THANK YOU again.
