    • @someones_journey

      Well... Switzerland is a small country and has one of the highest population density in Europe (ranked 16th, behind insanely small countries such as Monaco, Vatican, San Marino that biais the ranking xD). Whereas Norway... is ranked 58 😂 So yeah we can clearly see the change!

    Unfortunatly i live in the densest part of the contry now, but i lived 1,5 years on an island with about 100 ppl..
    You feel So Alive when your isolated in raw nature, and you feel the forces of the wind and the cold rain in your face in the fall and winter..

      @@someones_journey Thanks for your warming words 😊
      It is an island outside the small town of Kragerø in the southern part of the contry.
      Kragerø is called "the pearl of sørlandet" (the soutern part of Norway), and its where half of my family is from.
      Now moest of the island is bougth upp by a billionere makings luxery sommerhouses for rich ppl,, so the place isent quite the same anymore 😢
      It is ofc not as raw as Lofoten,, but that realy doesent matter when the augthom-storms turns the sea to "cream", you are still pritty isolated at an island...
      Theres a place there where you can wiev "the gap of the ocean" as we call it, (the skjærgård opens upp and next stop is Danmark)
      Put Wardruna on headphones and sit there for an hour in harsh weather contemplating life on earth... its magical.. 🤔👍😊

      It's always tough to see a place you love and in which you have so many memories being transformed and invaded by people who don't respect much of it :(
      And it doesn't matter how raw it is, as long as you feel good in it and you feel connected to nature, it's all that matters! It sounds amazing!

    I love Switzerland. Perhaps it's because it is a similar country to Norway in many ways (nature-wise and the apparent temperament of the people), though Norway has a (very long) coastline. I am guessing you are both adept at being close to nature, and as such, Norway should fit you fine. Coming from a bilingual society should help you fine, and being familiar with Germanic languages does help (I am guessing you are familiar with Schwiizerdütsch?). There are quite a few "gun clubs" near the major cities (pistol and rifle) and lots of nature to explore. The major difference might be the dark period (between roughly October and March). Just get a lot of D-vitamins, go outside to experience what little daylight there is at that time, and hang in there. It passes. Welcome to Norway.

    • @someones_journey
      @someones_journey  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much! I guess there are some similarities, but talking about nature, Norway is just on a compleeeeeete other scale! Switzerland is unfortunately too tiny to be able to get lost as we like.
      Even though we are from the French speaking part, Yoann handles German pretty well and I just keep learning Norwegian 😁
      Darkness yes, but also constant light in summer 🤯 we're so thrilled of getting to discover all of that.
      Thanks again so much for sharing

    Kinda ironic and a paradox that Swiss people move here to be happier, when Switzerland is very similar to Norway, and all our filthy rich people move there to escape taxes etc. And why Norway? Many Norwegians and foreigners move out of Norway😅 And as a Norwegian personally that’s too rural and secluded for my taste. Cabin life is enough once a year🥴🤣🤣🤣

    • @someones_journey
      @someones_journey  Год назад +6

      That's what we've been told a lot!
      Well all the reasons would be too long to describe here and they will surely reveal themselves in the next Adventures.
      But beyond nationalities crossing countries I think it's a matter of sense of belonging, of love of Nature, of craving for bigger spaces (which Switzerland is too dense to offer). The points on which Switzerland and Norway are similar are mainly positive on our side.
      And we feel good with the opposite ratio: cabin life all year long with "city life" to visit family once a year is beyond enough!
      Thanks for sharing 😊
