DISCLAIMER: I do not include EVERY depiction to ever exist. There are multiple different reasons as to why that this. A huge reason for this specific video, is that most are simply scaled up Great Whites. I don’t have too much to say for something like that. So yes, a fair amount are not included.
Also: Looks like I mistakenly removed the depiction that appears in Primal. So, here are my thoughts: it looks pretty good. The Megalodon is a fitting creature for the show.
Good point. Things you missed:
The ghostbusters cartoon had a megalodon that looked like a mosasaur
The ocean hunter, which has a megalodon which is called Leviathan
Shark hunter, a movie about a guy who wants to kill the meg that ate his parents
Megalodon, a movie of the same name that has a megalodon released as a result of an oil rig accident
The mega shark films with outrageous oversized megs
Megalodon, the king or queen of fierce and harmless 🦈.
That’s understandable
It also appeared in Megalodon returns
And in the last Sharknado movie, or it could just be an upscaled Cretoxyrhina.
Speaking of which, could you do that shark next, as well as Xiphactinus.
I think my favorite appearance of Megalodon in media was that episode of "Primal." It's hard to resist seeing a caveman and T. rex battle a giant shark in the middle of the ocean.
Also, I'm glad you picked my suggestion for the Brachiosaurus figure's name.
basilosaurus episode when?
Yes
I hope he mentions The Ocean Hunter Basilosaurus
I absolutely LOVE the depiction from JWE2, it ISN'T an oversized great white and DOESN'T look anything like one.
It reminds me more of a tiger shark mixed with a mako shark, which is terrifying.
You can also tell from the slender body that it is based on the newer reconstruction, which makes it look similar to a mako shark in slenderness.
JWE design gets a perfect 10/10 from me. They absolutely nailed it.
I agree I’m just so glad we got it In Jwe2 I thought they would never add it lol
the Jurassic World one had no right being so amazing, like legit why is it so good?
It really sucks that only the jaws and teeth of sharks get fossilized. Almost everything else about extinct sharks is basically a mystery.
We also have handfuls of the megalodons vertebrae. Also, Cretoxyhrina has a full-skeleton preserved(however, fossil preservation of sharks is rare)
The Megalodon is frankly awesome, no argument. It’s awesome
Big shark that fights big whales, THATS A MEGALODON, RUN (or swim)
It was also eaten by whales
@@MarkTheDilophosaurus281 Only juveniles were

Megalodon is my favorite non-dinosaur creature
We're gonna need a bigger boat
With bigger guns
A much biger boat!
Partout où je vais, je te vois
Megalodon is extinct so you don't need a bigger boat.
@@Scalesthelizardwizard3399they are extinct so you don't need a bigger gun
I hope we get to see Megalodon in Prehistoric Kingdom.
My favorite depiction of Megalodon is the MEG novels by Steve Alten. They were albino and glowed white and the image of a huge glow charging at you from the distance in the sea was horrifying.
It certainly helped that the recurring Megalodon named Angel was over 70 feet long and fought other prehistoric sea monsters in the novels.
From the realm of literature, one cannot forget the impact of Steve Alten's Meg series. Them albino glowing sharks make for some terrifying imagery.
The meg’s megalodon also had extra gills as it has adapted to living in the trench, the smaller meg is also a different color indicating its age
HA I KNEW IT!!!
as soon as that scene in the Meg 2 with the Tyrannosaurus Rex I was screaming at my TV
"THATS INACCURATE THEY LIVED IN DIFFERENT TIME PERIODS!!!"
my husband did look at me abit funny though as we were watching.....
😂😅🦖🦈
Ark Megalodon is really small and has always been. There is a slightly bigger version of it as an alpha variant with a red glow around it.
the problem with ark is everything else is unrealistically sized and the FOV is increased. Megalodon is a somewhat small realistic size, but it should have been bigger because it deserved better than just being the great white of the ark. Everything else is giant in ark so idk why they decided to just make it small. Thats why my verison is bigger in my ark mod. Megalodon had the strongest bite force of any animal. it deserved better rep for ark than being a OP pack animal
My favorite interpretation of Megalodon is the Megalodon from Chased by Sea Monsters :) That's where I know it from.
this guy was 5 Y/O decided he like dinosaurs and never looked back. thats dedication right there
Megalodon is also in the Endless Ocean game series and season 2 of the he show Primal
Would you do interpretations of Dunkleosteus please?
You should do "The MANY Interpretations of Neanderthals!" that would interesting
I like the old country style, and what a great concept, a little bit for everyone: folks interested in paleontology can come here, learn about an animal they like, and see movies books and games they may try: and people who enjoy those films books or games get to learn the paleontology on the animal.
I love your videos so much 🦈‼️
Ive been playing ark lately and im just here for the ark meglodon. Thank you for including it.
You forgot a few:
- The giant shark from Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus and its sequels is supposed to be a Megalodon.
- The shark from The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island is often assumed to be a Megalodon.
There was also the meg mockbuster films by the asylum and the jurassic shark films we don't talk about
I assume the Swimming Sharptooth in The Mysterious Island is a Cretoxyrhina personally
Thanks for the video 👌
Just started following you and watching your vids, I feel like we would make good friends! You like Dinos as much as I do and you love learning about them too!
incredible concept & idea, i enjoy the acknowledgment of prehistory in general but seeing it in this form is interesting.
I was so exited when megladon got added to jwe2!!! i love the different skins they are all really cool
Basically these depictions are all decently accurate because its pretty hard to screw up the look of a shark
Years ago I found drawing of Megalodon in one book about prehistoric animals. It was shown from the front and I could describe it with one word: Derp.
So, yeah... there is possibility to made bad drawing of shark.
sharks have many different looks though. a great white looks nothing like a hammerhead or a nurse shark. it’s unlikely that megalodon looked like any of them.
I love the Sea Of Thieves Representation of The Meg, gives it more character than just being 'Massive Stubby/Long/Chunky Great white, great video 👏
I find it interesting that a lot of depictions play up how massive this shark was, but don’t focus much on just how long it was around for and the fact it faced yet outlasted a very high level of cetacean competition (to the point some depictions and until recently even academia argue it was outcompeted by raptorial cetaceans, in spite of this making no sense whatsoever based on the timeline)
You should consider doing a trial series of an Ark playthru. Look up some of the better single player settings to keep it from being such a slog. Ark is a legit fun game to get into.
Yep!
Ark megalodons are pretty huge, you just have to trigger third person view to actually comprehend the size difference between the player and the shark.
I have accomplished my mission(i also stubbed my toe)
Also another possible video idea.
Dinosaur tierlist
I love sharks
There’s a few weird ones you missed.
Dino Squad
Hungry Shark series
Skull and Bones (admittedly unreleased)
please do a video over the dunkleosteus!!
Here are some megalodons missing from here
1. Megatooth Shark (Shark! Hunting the Great White)
2. Megalodon (Hungry Shark Evolution and World)
3. Mega Shark (Mega Shark Series)
4. Mutant Megalodon (Animal Revolt Battle Simulator)
Fun fact about the Megalodon in Ark: survival evolved/ascended, it's quite a bit smaller than it was in real life!
12:43 for variation in ark, there’s really only color for Megs. You can have pretty much any color combo u want with enough breeding and mutating. (I have a pink and dark green one in one save lol)
My favorite Megalodon is from both Hungry Shark games
Okay that design fron Dino Dana is way cooler then I expected
Something about a Megalodon with a pattern on it just works
The only Meg design I can think of that would also be kinda unique is the one from Black Demon
Which is purely off the fact its a sort of blackish Megalodon and is taking inspiration from a real life cryptid called the Black Demon of Cortez
There's also the Megalodon from Hungry Shark World who looks gnarly
Apparently the Meg eating a T. rex in the books was suppose to be some tv ad that someone corrected the producer on the exact fact
I was just scrolling around and came across this. And one of my favorite skins in Fortnite is named megalo don. One of his cosmetics are a mini mechanical shark.
theres also a meg in the show primal s2 ep1 sea of despair
There’s an X-variant Meg in ARK Genesis Part 1 which have very cool colour patterns, you got to check-’em out
Can you do a many interpretation of "Troodon" after you're done with the other creatures on the current poll of the many interpretation series
really wanted to see the shark from mega shark vs giant octopus
One of the first times I played Ark I stood at a certain spot that has an underwater drop off, looked in the water, and a Meg came to the surface, snatched a dodo that ran into the water, and disappeared.
Can you You would also bring the Tusoteuthis for example in Ark it's kind of huge or talk of Kraken it would be interesting
Mean they're pretty good in Ark and there is an Alpha version of the Megalodon that is a bit too stocky too rounded but. Length wise is pretty spot on, plus I'd imagine seeing as they predominantly hunted whales their heads would be more like Bull or Tiger Sharks than a Great Whites, teeth are an almost match to Great Whites but overall I'd say they're probably more like Tigers. Why I like the design in Ark as it's not too pointed at the tip of the head and JWE2 design is very good in my opinion
JWE2 Megalodon looks like a real life version of blåhaj and that what makes it the best Meg Desigin in Jurassic World/Park media.
The Skeleton crew did a review on the Megalodon in Jurassic World evolution 2 and they said that the Megalodon falls closely related to mako sharks
"There's always a bigger fish."
There's a megalodon in Fish: Feed and Grow that looks pretty unique color wise
Oh yeah baby
Mate you missed many more as most people here will share but great vid and part 2 will come later on.
Most of which are massive great white sharks. As I say quite a bit. I don’t typically include every depiction.
@@prehistoricchannel128 ahh i thought you did mate but regardless cool vid.
Hey! You Should Also Think About Feed And Grow Fish When Doing A Marine Animal!
4:41: A big tooth indeed.
The one with spikes ish is the dunklostus or something like that.
We need an ark game series with you pleassee
What are your thoughts on the paper from this year that Megalodon may have been longer than previously thought
You forgot the infamous monster shark mockumentary
The less attention brought to that, the better.
You forgot the megalodon from bad dinosaurs@@prehistoricchannel128

Megalodon, The Largest Shark in the History of our Oceans.
WOOOO MEGALODOOOOOON
4:48 I have one too
Basilosaurus cameo! I feel like the only person who prefers prehistoric whales like Basilosaurus and Levityan to prehistoric sharks like the Meg
The Meg technically isn’t the same Meg species millions of years ago, but the evolved descendant. More so explicit in the books w/ them being white and glowing.
As for the famous imagery of it eating a T. Rex in context of the book, it was merely a short film made by Jonas (who became a paleo/biology teacher at a college I think) to demonstrate the ferocity of the animal.
❤
I’m surprised you didn’t show the Megalodon used in the film Megalodon: 60 feet of Prehistoric Terror.
Megalodon in Skull & Bones lookz Fukkin Baka
Since you don't really know much about Ark Survival Evolved, a fun video idea could be to react and analyze all the creatures from it. Since a lot of them are creatures you'd probably never make an individual video about, like Basilosaurus.
There is a different version of Meg in Ark. On the Genesis 1 map. Basically the same but the stripes on its back are Bioluminescent and a small stat difference.
13:52 THATS JUST WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO THINK(im in full denial😭)
You forgot endless ocean luminous
4:48 I have a megalodon tooth to
Releeeeeeeaaaassseeeee meeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Megalodons are VERY!! Common in ARK's Oceans. I encounter them all the time.
Can you do a video like this about Coelacanth
It’s not extinct though
I don't know why I just randomly search megalodons in this video popped up Fresh Out the Oven
The megalodon in ark are interesting, it's like the only iconic predator in the game that is way undersized instead of oversized
We definitely gonna need a bigger boat with harpoons and guns to bag this monster shark!🚢🦈
Many people believe that Megalodon lived alongside dinosaurs.
Titanus Megalodon 🦖🦈
Recent findings indicated the real Carcharocles/Otodus megalodon bore little resemblance to the modern great white (Carcharodon carcharias), aside from being sharks. The ones we see in movies would best be described as Carcharodon megalodon, a fictional species.
My wife has a picture of her standing beside a set of Meg Jaws at the Smithsonian.
There are several terrible mockmentaries, Discovery channel pretended were real
Pretty sure that giant mechanical Meg was made for shark week... Double checked and Yes it was from SharkZilla that premiered on Sharkweek
The Assylum has a Megashark series that features megs
The main reason people still think it is alive, is a tooth was found and carbon dated to about 10,000 but that was using the least accurate carbon dating.
Hungry Shark evolution is a fun shark game that has a Meg in it.
What about the Hungry Shark series? That had Megalodon in it
You also left out these Megalodon designs in films shows and games
Jaws Ultimate Predator
Shark hunting the great white
Depth
Fish feed and grow
Shark hunter
Mega shark series.
You forgot a movie, Mega shark vs Giant Octopus
Id say check out the version of it from ‘The Deep’ Kids cartoon show!
That was cool!
Should have named the brachio earthquake simulator.
lol that meg just traveled back in time tens of millions of years to beach itself and bash its organs to goop to grab a T. rex. 😂😂😂
Otodus Megalodon the Cenozoic beast s Portait
I like the ones that don't look exactly like a great white shark.
Dunkliosies next and i dont know how to spell the name
Imagine the shock of people when it turns out to be a giant hammerhead
Lol
Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. Had to do a jaws reference
Did everyone forget about the hungry shark games?
I 100% did not! I was pretty disappointed he didn’t mention the Hungry Shark series in it 💀
Many interpretations of Deinonychus
I think that the meg looks more like a tiger or bull shark
