    I'd drill holes through the support so the line comes up through then attaches to a hook which can be wound around like a guitar tuning peg.

    Micro adjust by turning the screw hooks.
    Better would be, drill holes in top board and run string through holes with "cork/plug".

      The screws hooks at the top wouldn’t change the length of that pendulum, but the screws into the balls would.

    What they mean by chaotic is that the string of balls are in a smooth orderly fashion than they start to swing out of that orderly fashion into a more chaotic fashion. Their balls they're not humans so it's bulk chaos not human chaos
