      @@crospotter13 to me it looks like an electric car with a range extender. But with a small battery and larger fuel tank. It's not an hybrid at all

    • @crospotter13
      @crospotter13  2 года назад +4

      @ yes the idea is to give "EV" feel behind the steering wheel, but without range anxiety. Model made for transit between ICE and EV models for people who don't have time/facilities to charge the car.

  • @johnkeepin7527

    An interesting demonstration after dark. It has a lot in common with similar Toyota products, except that the transmission is straightforward electric, rather than hybrid (with both electric and mechanical via continuously variable in tandem).

    • @seltaeb9691
      @seltaeb9691 2 месяца назад

      It's still a hybrid, how you hook it up is up to you. This idea that it can only be a hybrid if they both drive the wheels. Nissan done the right thing. It's simple and direct & you always drive in Ev mode.

    Without all the cumbersome computation from the drivetrain to contend with, this concept allows an ICE based autonomous car 😅‼️

      because it does not have a CVT nor transmission, it uses a very simple reliable gear setup.

    Hi, just got my e-Power today. Drove it home & had a complete nervous breakdown or should I say e-breakdown. I'm 71 & just too much tech & information. Now, where are e-paddles, there isn't any. The Lane Assist caused panic, beeping & shaking that I nearly caused a accident with a very irate driver. All warnings get switched off tmmrw, they cause accidents for me. I might swap it for a nice simple Dacia.

    Very interesting and nice night driving presentation. I have a question. Can you give us the information regarding the rear suspension please ? is there a multilink suspension in e-power models no matter what the trim level is or not ? or it varies depending on trim level ... for instance the Tekna + trim with the 20 inch allow wheels has a multilink rear suspension in all versions ... petrol, 2wd, 4wd or e-power ... because I have heared different things and I am trying to clear it out !

    • @crospotter13
      @crospotter13  Год назад

      thanks :)
      Yes I do think it's the same with e-Power models, so with 20-inch you get multilink at the back (but to be 100% sure best is to ask the local dealership)

    How do you know if the car has the engine on or if it's driving all eletric? Doesn't it have an EV light in the dashboard?

    • @crospotter13
      @crospotter13  2 года назад

      There is an energy flow layout in the middle of the digital cockpit (you can watch my full review during the day where I show all the details about screens and you’ll see it). Also when you press the EV mode you will see the EV logo, and if you need to accelerate hard for example car will notify you that the EV mode is no longer active and that engine is now alao turned on (to help the electric motor which is the only one driving the wheels at all times)

    • @ispiur

      It is always moving in electric. The oil engine only charges the battery.

    • @JJ-pi4zj
      @JJ-pi4zj 5 месяцев назад

      It's always driving electric. The petrol engine is to keep the battery charged. That way you get the feel of the electric drive without the need to charge and no range anxiety.

    • @seltaeb9691

      You can hardly hear the engine. For me aged 71, there's just too much going on, looking at the dash with info galore. I may switch off parts of it as it's quite distracting. I drove a 2014 Scenic - I'm missing it but I must try to persevere. It's quite a beast when you stand by it.

      @@luckystrike656 He doesn't have matrix lights on! This can be seen from the displayed icons. If the matrix lights were on, there would be three icons on the road at a speed above 40 km/h: a green headlight with a letter A in the middle, an icon for the position lights and a third one, blue with the letter A. Meanwhile, you can see that there is only a green icon for the dipped beam and green for the lights positional. Conclusion: crospotter13 drives with dipped beam all the time. That's why it's dark.

    I don't get why it can go under 6l/100km when the engine is not running the wheels?! And you drove really slowly, I saw even 11l in some RUclips reviews..
    So do a quick recap
    Complexity of a turbo engine
    Complexity of a Hybrid EV system
    A lot of weight
    6-10l/100km
    Probably much higher price then regular model
    Is there any other benefit according to Nissan?

    • @DJKav

      Hmm, you missed the part that it's;
      missing a mechanical drivetrain,
      missing a mechanical gearbox,
      missing a mechanical clutch system,
      Thus, saving all that weight, compared to conventional hybrid.
      In city/urban drive tests have put it around 65mpg
