I've heard Matt Stephen talk about having a rusty buzz bait that seemed to draw fish better than most new ones. Thanks again for doing what you do and I applaud you for standing up for what you believe in😊
All depends whether the water temperature is on rise, caught fish in 49 degree in afternoon when water temperature was 44 in morning, and when water temperature was falling not so good.
We use to tie 6-7 on the truck antenna and drive around with them for a week or so. They would wear down and rattle and squeak. We caught a bunch of fish on them. Love fishing a buzz bait. Great video.
It has always been my favorite bait to throw. I hardly put it down this tiem of year. An soon as spring hits 45 degrees on the water. I get the most violent bites
Took your advice a few weeks ago with the 1/4oz Boogerman silent black on black with the chartreuse pearl zhog Jr and been crushing them in off colored water super shallow ever sense. Thx!!!
Right. You may be thinking of the 1997 FLW event on Ross Barnett where, on the final day, March 1, the water warmed up enough in the shallows and Clunn used the Lunker Lure. During the first three colder days, he was using a small crankbait.
Decent in open water. But i like to bounce mine off dock post. Or tap dance down the side of a pontoon. Or banging off rocks. Plastic just not as durable
I really like The ORIGINAL Lunker Lure myself. They have a great squeal right out of the box with no tuning!
I agree. They are hard to beat.

As always Randy thanks for the info !
I remember, many years ago, Rick Clunn won a cold weather tournament on a buzz bait.

Great stuff Randy, thank you!
I’ll start throwing a buzzer when the water temperature is in a range of like 15in of visibility to about 3 foot of visibility for whatever reason.
Original white on white linker lure was my favorite, can’t find them anymore
Tackle warehouse has them
Thoughts on plastic bladed buzzin baits?
