It's a ULB election not a chairman election. Colony chairman are not appointed by the government only the village council chairman are approved by the respective DC or ADC so sorry for the Towns chairman etc..

This should actually be done in each and every election be it the state assembly election, lok sabha election and this, only then corrupt practices such as proxy voting and flexing of muscle power and authority may decrease to a certain degree, I second this measure even in the future.
