    Hey Rogee, really enjoying your videos. You've certainly got the flash gears. Im wondering about what basic/budget gear you'd get if you were starting today? Having to slowly build up myself, and get gear for my daughters who are keen to come along, as well as my nephews. A nz perspective on starter gear would be amazing

      Cheers brother...its simple Hunting & fishing is great place to go to get entry to intermediate level gear and equipment. As you aspire to updgrade your gear you need to seek out specialist providers lilke Points South for Firstlite clothing, Guncity for Chassis, Twinneedle Bino Chest rig etc...

    gd old 308 i used to use 150g silver tip or 150g ballistic tip for longer shots

      Yeah I believe there are a few brands that make those, Lecia, Vortex... I think the Vortex even link to the Kestrel 5700 as well!

      ⁠@@rogeeproductions2509 Leica geovid R or Swaro EL range (if you’re spendy). The vortex binos have iffy glass and take a dog’s age to get a solution back and even longer when connected to a kestrel. The Revic Acura blr10b binos give the best solutions, connect well with other devices, have onboard weather, and have decent glass

    Another great hunt. Why do you not go into the animal for the tenderloins? It could be a simple enough task since you have the skin skinned away from the backstraps? I am just wondering about that. Thanks for the great videos and the effort you put in brother.

    I personally watching every episode. It’s good to see another way of hunting. For me it’s too much waste ( neck, front legs and tenderloin). Waiting for a new part nice country and shots!

      Thanks Rob, yeah I hear ya I guess its the way we kinda do things here. A bit spoilt for choice with the deer as they are considered a noxiouis pest and it a free for all on them. And with that comes "just take the easiest and best bits" 🤔😉

    usual top quality entertainment and the bush is two pests better of, a lot probably as they were breeding aged. does the dog help you find deer on recovery? what's the contingency if you find yourself unable to move? cheers and that sunrise makes me homesick

      Cheers brother...my little mate finds them after she trips over them🤦‍♂️😂....Set off the SOS on the Garmin Inreach if I'm ever in the shit, that little device I put in my side pouch before heading off on the recovery. It can send texts as well.

      @@tewaewae I guess each hunter is different and it depends on what you want to get out of the sport. Some guys hunt farms some guys hunt the publicl land. There will always be fundamental skills required for both
      Technology has certainly helped finding and shooting deer, thermals , HD Binos etc…

    Nice mornings work and getting the rewards for the effort 👌, just as well you buggered the front shoulders otherwise your pack would've been 120kg!! AGAIN! 😅, just an observation and im no expert (i dont shoot anywhere near the amount of animals you do) but i always use my thermal with my non shooting eye, otherwise i find that i get bright spots in my vision from the thermal screen!, how are you finding yours?, cheers again Greg 👍

      Thats interesting about the bright spots in your eyes after using the thermal, I don't get that or I just havent noticed🤔🤷‍♂️😉. Maybe its the thermal I'm using?

      Yes could be!, mine is a few years old now, not an amoled screen model!, but definatley causes spots etc more noticeable at night of course! Great piece of kit, I've spotted animals I didn't know were there right in front of me, great for the old "pest control" 😊

      @@SammyMoore-tg5gs TBH Sammy, Im ex-military so I know the 308(7.62) very well and I prefer the ability to shoot heavier bullets for more hitting power. Also 6.5 Gaymore😉😂

      @@rogeeproductions2509 I’ve got a Ruger m77 mkii .308 in an MDT LSS chassis with a Timney trigger that is entirely more accurate than it has any right to be. We’re talking sub 1” 10 shot groups on repeat with 168 gr eld-m bullets, and it slaps deer for sure, the recoil is vicious considering the downrange performance. Sure, a suppressor mitigates it to an extent, but would have the same mitigating performance on a cartridge with similar recoil and better downrange performance, like the 6.5 PRC, or considerably less recoil and similar downrange performance, like the 6.5 Creedmoor.
      Ps. Just picked up a Tikka t3x in .223 rem as a training rifle today! Looking forward to it.

    I noticed you’ve mentioned ELD-M bullets in the 300wsm and AMax rounds in the .308 in the US neither is considered a “hunting” bullet why those particular bullets and is it a coincidence they are both Hornady products?

      When I started reloading for both rifles many many moons ago, Amax pills were the best performing at the time and they killed well . So Ive kinda just stuck with match bullets
