Great video. Nice catch!
Yellow perch from great lakes are a tradition in US midwest. Broiled in butter.
Fried Walleye too. Mmmm.
Thanks mate! I've heard your walleye are good chewing. I've also heard the largemouth are good but anyone who takes one for a feed gets absolutely lynched by the catch and release brigade 😂
Great video mate. What a sesh. Don’t see you much out doing vids in the yak. Can’t wait for the warmer weather to finally give this spot a crack.
Yeah mate it can be hard to tee up kayak days having the young fella, I definitely want to get the kayak out more this spring and summer!
Nice fishing bro …… need to crank that drag up a touch tho lol 😂
Haha yeah I don't like to have it too high on the reddies, just enough so that it isn't letting out too much line as I work the vibes. I'm a bit lazy like that 😅
Great feed the reddies are 👍🏼 I only tried them not long back and now keen to get a few more on the end of my line...
Damm since you have to crack a drink I might have to join you I think,
Just packed one for the arvo session 👍🏼
Got everything set and after your vid going to go try nail a few fish 🎣
Keep up the great work mate tight lines
Good luck mate! Plenty of fish to catch at the moment 🙂
@@jordythebassist The on and off rain is seeming to wash plenty of worms in the water,
That is definitely helping when using bait,
The other day I cast lures and soft plastics for almost 2 hours in the one little spot... NOTHING!!!
Changed over to bait (worms) got a 30cm bass in less than 1 minute then non stop bites
@@bushfishncook2128 the worms will definitely be a good bait this summer as we've got more rain forecast with the arriving La Nina. I'll still persevere with lures in the freshwater as I've preferred the artificials in recent times.
Nice bag of reddies did they have any roach in there stomachs when you cleaned them or yabbies 🤔
Cheers mate. None that I noticed, seemed to be mostly small Galaxids and the occasional baby redfin.
Nice video. I have the same looking Garmin fish finder but I din't think I have the maps downloaded on it. It shows me the traces of where I have been but impossible to tell what part of the water body I am at. Did you download the maps?
Hey mate, I don't have any maps on there. The Garmin 5CV has a mapping tool where it will draw up the contours of where you're fishing and constantly creates new contours and updates the older contours on the chart as you use it more and more. It doesn't have any features like land, markers etc however you can mark a GPS location.
I tried in Lake Hume the other day, got a few red dogs, but unfortunately the water level dropped half %. Might try Bonnie for a feed of yellas 😎👍
You guys should come down here and try Melton with me one day! 🙂
@@jordythebassist sounds like a plan mate! I’m sure Leese would enjoy it too! 😎👍
Superlative session mate! “You’re gonna need a bigger Esky!”….
Have you tried dispatching the fish with a bat/ brain spike before icing?
Any issues without bleeding them?
It's probably a bit dangerous with a spike on a kayak, I try to avoid bringing stuff like that or a knife which could cause serious injury. No issues without bleeding though, still tasted good 😋
Gotta love a good feed of Redfin!! 😎👍
are you able to put an Eletric powered tinny in there?
@maxhunts_ it is possible, however I don't think the ski club likes it too much when people launch off the bank as they want people to pay for a membership in order to use their ramp
@@jordythebassist all in all but your aloud to use a tinny on there? Correct?
@maxhunts_ yes correct, south of the bridge you're permitted to use the petrol motor however north of the bridge it is limited to electric motors only
@@jordythebassist beauty I’ll be having a crack in my electric tinny forsure. Cheers mate!
Yeww nice fish man
Thanks mate, was a bloody crazy session!
@@jordythebassist sure was
Great session mate! Just wondering if you think you need a 4wd to get down to the waters edge there near the railway bridge as I've got a new kayak I'm keen to use there? Cheers mate
Thanks mate 🙂 as long as the temporary gates aren't locked then you can access with a normal car. If they are locked there is another access track but it can be very dodgy to take a car down those dirt tracks. I know it is possible as recently the gates were locked as I was leaving and someone followed me out on the dirt track in a Mitsubishi Lancer. I wouldn't recommend it though.
@@jordythebassist okay thanks heaps funnily enough I've got mitsubishi lancer myself so thats promising haha
i am surprised how many big red fins are there... especially with decent amount of fishing pressure.
There doesn't seem to be any shortage of big Redfin in there, I know blokes who have been taking 20-30 big fish per session and they're still in thick numbers there. VFA wants us to get as many of those Redfin out of our rivers as possible and we're more than happy to oblige!
Where is that
Melton reservoir buddy 😎
English roach is the little fish that jumped in the kayak.
Thanks mate! I thought it might have been a Roach or Tench. There's heaps of those little guys jumping on the surface usually.
Great stuff mate
I Didn't know we had Roach here
Aaaa jorrdy i am the kid from the river when ever u duck out for a fish pls text me and mum can drop me off did u catch any fish today thanks🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
Hey buddy! Was a pleasure to meet you down there tonight. I did manage to get a nice 39cm Bass tonight which I will be posting footage of shortly, I even gave you a shout-out in the video as well if mum is happy with me posting that.
I will probably be down there again on Monday morning before work but very early, probably 5.30am
Monster bass monster mum said its fine can . Can i meet u down at 6 thanks
@@24fishing39 sure thing buddy, I should be there around then in the same general area but maybe up a bit closer to View St. You know my truck anyway 😉
Thanks jordy when are u posting the vid of the bass see at 5:40 am monday thanks so much
@@24fishing39 I'm not sure mate, it takes a lot of time to go through and edit footage and I'm very busy at the moment. Hopefully not too long!
I will have a lure for you to try as well when you arrive, it is like the lure I caught the Bass on tonight 🙂
I don’t know how these fish even survive in Melton reservoirs. It’s bloody filthy!
The water there is regularly tested and it's actually fairly clean - just lots of dumped crap on the edges unfortunately
Redfin are a very adaptive and resilient species. Great fun fish
