I have several of these and they are a great budget backpacking option! You can even nest a small fuel can in them along with one of the nesting cups and a small stove. Great product at a great price.
A rare product of perfection and at the price a no brainer. I have several and would not be without them. Exotic? No, useful? Absolutely. Nice presentation.
From people just getting into backpacking it's perfect because those titanium mugs are expensive, as is most backpacking stuff whenyou are just setting outm rugged too, it will take abuse. I like it a lot!
I bought one! I don't use the cups that came with it but it has worked great for us these past 6 months. I can nest a fuel canister in it with my stove, a bandana, and a lighter. Great for backpacking, especially if you are boiling water for two. Oh, yes the Ozark stainless cup from Walmart slips right over the bottom taking up no room in the backpack. Because it's metal that cup can serve as an extra cook pot or just let me eat my oatmeal while having coffee in my GSI mug. You are very thorough with the review even though this is a 'basic' item. Great work!
it's a perfect combo of simplicity meeting need. it's just perfect. the ONLY thing that would make it better would be a snugger fit on the lid. that's it. i have 6 of them.
I looked it up on the Canadian Amazon. They wanted over $50! On the American Amazon it's currently 25$ even with exchange and shipping it's going to be a lot cheaper ordering it from the USA
Most versatile cookset I've have..... I added a stainless ozark cup on the bottom and the lid fits ...plus a modified french press!! .... stove , fuel cup inside and a few other pieces....... cant ask for better for the price point or durability ......not to mention there are plenty of mods if you choose to do them and the thing is pretty close to indestructible !!!......... some choose to find lighter but lighter cost twice as much for less .....I want to cook on the trail not just boil water and this gives me alot of options in the fire or on the stove !!
I wouldn't mind picking up two sets, but as of Feb 2024, the prices in Canada are $69+ for just one! Next time I'm in Nashville, I'll check it out at Walmart.
The Stanley Adventure is my second favorite piece of outdoor cookware, coming in only after the venerable US canteen cup. The canteen cup wins for one reason alone; it perfectly fits one pack of ramen with just enough room left over for a handful of jerky and dried vegetables. Even the amount of broth it holds is ideal. The Stanley is great for a quick repast along the trail, especially when cooking with a stove and just having brew. The two included cups also being insulated is nice, as you can start drinking earlier than when doing so directly out of metal cookware. Great content here, you definitely earned the like and subscription.
Thanks so much! I recently purchased the Stanley coffee press as well and am really liking it! I'm planning to put it on the channel soon. Spring content coming soon!!!!!
Thanks so much! I try to explain things as straightforward as possible while not boring the audience to death with blah, blah techno stuff too much. Cheers!!!!
People have different needs and I know how popular canister stoves are. My “homemade” biofuel stove grips and holds the Stanley securely. For me using sticks, charcoal etc. works for me as I am not a backpacker.
There are small inserts (check measurements) you can get or maybe already have that converts this into a French press, I’m picky about coffee, no instant here. It also nests inside the Walmart Ozark Trail cup that way you have 2 vessels to cook with. The possibilities are so many, I even saw a video of someone baking a little bread inside. I have 2, one for camping, other for my trailer in Baja where space is limited.
I do like French press coffee, I have one on my msr reactor. This could be a game changer for me!!!! I'm looking into it. Maybe I'll do an update video!
@@LoneCrowAdventures Amazon used to sell the inserts (stainless steel) by themselves, I got one but I don’t see them now. I’ve heard the IKEA French press insert fits them but also they Bestargot or Lixada titanium French press fits perfectly, I’ve tried swapping them too, I prefer the Stanley because of the handle.
I have one of the Stanley French Press Travel mugs and have to say it IS the best and My favorite piece out of all my Stanley items. In fact I use the nesting set this video is about to heat the water for that travel mug.
I have one of these and removed the insert from my French press and works perfectly inside. I’ve made coffee numerous times with no problem. I’ve also pressed the coffee in the pot (leaving the insert inside) and drank directly from it with no issues. I went out and bout a cheap French press and removed the insert and now keep it on my bag to use with my Stanley cook set.
Stanley also makes a French Press that's the same size at the top, but doesn't taper. It has a little more capacity and would be a little more stable on a stove, since the base is wider. The lid from the 2 Cup Cook Set works with it as well.
I basically only ever carry a Kelly Kettle one of these Stanley kits, and an old WWII German kidney bean mess kit. Done a week or two at a time with nothing else, and never felt I was lacking.
I snagged one of these last year for $9 and it's easily one of the best camping investments I've made. I put it directly into a campfire to cook rice and it held up great. Not sure if I was supposed to, but it survived
I bet thing thing would handle direct coal cooking well. I'm learning more and more about it from you guys! Everyone so far has had great ideas for uses and mods that ai never would have thought about. Cheers!
I loved this video...sadly WalMart has fazed out this cook kit due to...I DON"T KNOW REASONS like poor sales or something? But, them little green cups has gotten such bad reviews by ULTRA LIGHT BACKPACKERS as being too HEAVY...I started a campaign called the green cup club, and would love for you to join...don't cost nothing and ain't sponsored just make a video and let her roll!!!...also I have a play list on this and intend on getting back into these little green cups...lol.
Sadly, yes, wally-world has fazed out several 9f the STANLEY products 😢. NOT BECAUSE OF Sales or Quality issues. They did it to grow their own brand of Ozarks Trail instead. Allegedly Wally-world owns a substantial amount of the Ozarks Trail brand. I do prefer STANLEY to most other brands, always have.
I have one similar to this but it is the 1.1 quart pot. I hate it. It cannot be used by its own admission over a campfire directly. It cannot be used over gas or an alcohol stove and it cannot be used on a conventional oven because it will "damage the product". So it does what then? Hold room temp water?
Awesome review! Makes me want to put this on my Christmas list! Hey do you know if the plastic is BPA free? I saw that the stainless steel part is BPA free. As in a no chemical liner. But what about the cups?
Check the link on the description, it’ll take you directly to it and you can see the specs. I would assume so since Stanley makes excellent quality equipment. I have their big cooler too and to me is comparable to the Yeti but less $$$, 6 days in 90 degrees Fahrenheit temps, inside a bear box that gets hotter and I still had ice in the bottom. I car/tent camp thus weight is not an issue but quality is. I absolutely love this set.
@@LoneCrowAdventures absolutely, I saw it on barnyard outdoors channel. It's called the Stanley Wildfare Go Two Cup Cookset, currently $20.00 at REI. I've a local REI near me, so I picked one up. I didn't need it but it's pretty awesome. Stanley also has a 14 piece Wildfare Go Two Bowl Prep & Cookset. ATB
I don’t appreciate this. This isn’t a review of a product. This is a commercial that would’ve been no different if I had been flipping the channels back 1998. This isn’t content, this is advertisement. The Stanley cool kit CAN’T maximize how much of the heat from the stove is being used to boil water because only cooking pots with wider bases increases that efficiency by reducing the amount of heat lost from the sides. So a tall cup is less efficient than a wide cup/pot. Big thumbs down 👎 You’re taking advantage of the system and of people. And that is morally wrong.
@@LoneCrowAdventures, I guess you just needed content of some sort so advertisement is the option you went with. You went ahead and tried to list as much as you could to the point that it’s not true. Nobody likes it because it’s REALLY good at anything other than being cheap and durable. You gave it praise for things people don’t care about. So yea everybody likes THIS guy because he does t give people bullshit advice about things and tells them what things are used for in the REAL WORLD.

Yes that little 4pz isobutane canister fits right in there! It's great!!!
Awwww 👍! The fabulous and famous Green 2 Cups. I think we all own at least one. It's a Grab It N Go classic. ❤ my STANLEY COOK SETS 🙌

I also use the coffee press by Stanley too! I also love it!!!!
I have to agree. That is a great cook kit. I removed one of the cups so I can store my stove in the pot. For the price it can't be beat. Great review.

I swear by my Stanley Nestinng 2 Cup Cook Set. My wife has now also fallen in love with it. The set is so versatile.
I can certainly see how it could be adapted for many uses!
I own several cooks sets for hiking that are expensive. The Stanley is still my favorite and my go to.
nice review thanks for concise and easy to digest info!
Awe thanks! I appreciate it
Love mine. Great for throwing in a small simple kit and on my bike. Makes it so easy for a coffee break during an early spring or fall bike ride.
You bet. I'm going to check out the coffee press attachment

How well does this work on your butane stove?
Not bad at all. Can be a little tricky to get it placed in the center because it's small.

nooo, don't do chilli or beans in it.

Throw the green cups away. There's lots and lots of mods that can be done to the pot. There are MANY videos about this on RUclips.

My only bellyache about the Stanley is the rounded bottom. Otherwise: 👍
Yeah it can be tricky to balance on the stove with that rounded bottom.
