Pick them each individually. Don't buy prepackaged bags. Get them at different intervals of ripeness. If you get them less ripe, even better. You can put them in a paper bag with rice as you want them and they'll be ready within 24 hours of doing that. Good luck! I always tell my mom: I buy avocados when I'm not in the mood for one. By the time I am, it will be ripe
