    "Bernardo Faria is a 5x World Champion. Bernardo started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Juiz de Fora - MG, Brazil at the age of 14 in 2001. After receiving the Black Belt from his first instructor Ricardo Marques in 2008, He moved to Sao Paulo to join BJJ legend Fabio Gurgel and his Alliance team. After many years of training and winning many major titles, Bernardo moved to NYC in 2013 to train and teach at Marcelo Garcia Academy. In 2015 Bernardo achieved his dream of winning the IBJJF World Championship Open class title and his division, doing the double Gold and becoming the 1st in the IBJJF Ranking and also choosed as the best athlete of 2015.
    Bernardo Faria has now taken on the mission to share some of the lessons, techniques, experiences and more that he has learned along in his 16 years and counting as a BJJ student, teacher and world class competitor.

    Bernardo is the most humble black belt I have ever herd talk, this guy you’d think he was a nobody if to passed him in the street, 6x world champ and zero ego, that’s the biggest lesson for everyone

      I’ve only just started watching these BJJ fanatics videos and I honestly thought Bernardo was like a white belt who discovered a business opportunity and had connections somehow to get all these BJJ players to make videos. I had no idea of what you wrote above about him being a 6x world champ.

      @@markopolo6640 yes, he's an amazing black belt multiple time world champion as already stated. He's one of my favorite Jiu-jitsu practitioners but he's retired now from competition. Look up his pressure passing and over/under pass. It's brutal. So simple yet so incredibly effective at the highest levels even.

      @@GagnonTV i'm always surprised at how many people don't know he was world class competitor. Even retired, he probably has the best over under pass in gi to this day

    Using your inner leg to keep their outside leg out of the equation seems like a key detail.
    It takes aways their de la riva attacks and other transitions. A very important detail that's easy to neglect in drilling I think

    This should be a drill for class. Instead of standing pummels, should do it with legs from the heavy hands position. Then switch with your partner.

      the problem i have with this is most certainly they will grab the lapel when you close the distance ; the percentage is not 100 percent therefore you can potentially be left in a bad spot, thanks for comment but I play around with it

    This passing system seems applicable only if you're a taller guy like Gordon. If you're short your legs will probably be TOO light and you'll get swept.

      He doesnt expose any significant details with this. There are no secret principles, it's up to you to experiment.

      He does in the instructional. It's extremely detailed. He said he's so far ahead of his competition at this stage it doesn't matter.

      You’d still have to train with those guys to get near their level and even then it’s mostly god-given. Being a champion is more than just hard work and knowledge you have to be born with it too.

      in the live rolling video numerous people try to get deep half and he shuts it down pretty easy. he predicts it well, because hes light and can feel their movement. as kit dale says, cant feel a heart beat with a stiff hand. even if they do get deep half hes so light hes hard to contyrol
