people keep saying that if a child could do it, that a swat team of highly trained soilders can, but then forget that the child has canonically died hundreds of times to one skeleton, with the speed to react to laser beams, enough defence to tank things that would disintegrate others, has a magic knife that glows with red energy, and fought a fuish that casually throws boulders. plus, Karmic retribution would decimate anyone who came into contact with it, because if they are ARMED soldiers who have been in combat, they have blood on their hands

They start to suspect the monsters inside the mountain, so they send a drone inside to investigate, after exploring a whole civilization inside, they reach the throne room, inside, they see the 6 human souls of the missing children, the military gets involved and decided that, what the monsters did was unforgivable, so, they decide to nuke the underground, they send an informant to warn the monsters (which, seriously, thats stupid) about the nuke. The rest of the monsters start panicking, the others, accepted their fate. When sans heard aboit this news, he went killed the informant, usig his soul as on of the souls to break the barrier and weilding his skull as a weopon... after the news of the informant's death, a swat team decended into the underground, searching for the culprit before the nuke goes off. They reach sans, and they discover that he was the one who ended the informants life. Sans, wanting to save the lives of the monsters, decided that he neaded to find one last soul that is capable enough to break the barrier... as the swat team reach the final corridor, sans turns agresive and the battle starts"

In theory... this is an infinite loop if sans is fighting Frisk/Chara, because if the nuke kills them, their determination will reset back to their last save, being before the sans fight, therefore... if sans wins or doesn't, unless he manages to stop them from reviving themselves with their determination or preventing their soul from shattering, the humans dont realise that time will never progress in thay timeline anymore

As something of an enthusiast of weapons, the concept of deliberately detonating a nuclear bomb _underground_ causes me no small amount of distress. There are many reasons _not_ to do that, especially right under a goddamn mountain. Honestly, it’d be easier, faster, safer, and cheaper to just send in a SWAT team or an equivalent thereof. If a child with a knife (at best) can kill them, a group of trained adults with automatic firearms and actual body armor can certainly do the same. Anyway, there’s definitely an opportunity for this AU to make an “Underground Zero” joke somewhere (y’know, as in “ground zero”).

As far as Undertale has shown, magic attacks don’t inflict physical damage, but damage one’s Soul. These are the only attacks monsters use. The reason Frisk is so powerful compared to monsters is due to using physical attacks. Gunfire is not magic, and more than likely bypasses Soul combat in the case of a battle against Frisk (neither Frisk nor a human with a gun could harm the other’s Soul). This means that Frisk has to contest with actual bullets and actual wounds, and can’t just chow down on a pie to heal. More than likely, this also means that Frisk’s ability to dodge anything it utterly moot, as A) a magic laser is unlikely to actually move at the speed of light and B) Frisk is not shown to physically dodge it, just move their Soul out of the way. Willing your Soul out of the way will not save you from a gun. It also means that Frisk doesn’t get the benefit of turn-based combat, and most likely gets put down while caught unawares. The entire US Army wouldn’t be necessary. One soldier is the most you would need. There’s not much Frisk can do against a hail of gunfire, and all of Frisk’s attacking options are close range, which puts them at the perfect range to be unable to dodge a combat knife to the throat.
Honestly if they made the lore where the monsters (somehow) learn about the nuke, humans send a scout to the underground or smtn, and like the entire underground is in complete dissaray and panic while sans, the royal judge of the king, tries to hunt them down but starts to just not care about anything anymore (who is alive, who isin't, he just cares about getting the last goddam soul), that could have been more interesting then insanity sans 2.0, but oh well.

I like the soundtrack though, lore doesn't hold much tbh, in my opinion Asgore would take action here as Sans knows all of it would reset some day, until bomb has some sort of time erasure capabilities, I would also left Papyrus alive. That's all I have to share on the lore
I actually have theory for this: the resets we do in the game only affect the underground and everything that happens from the overworld cant be changed.

Might be wrong abt this but, Im p sure this AU happens after a possible neutral route (a pacifist one means frisk freed the underground.) Meaning the monsters are back to square one. 0 souls. The human giving up their soul only means one lucky monster is set free from the incoming nuke.

From what I can piece together, basically, after the disappearance of the 6 humans, people started considering the place dangerous, so they set a nuke that would explode in well...27 hours, the reason as to why sans is fighting us seems to be because we gave the humans the coordinates to the underground, as sans mentions in the waterfall encounter (Exposed Lies), dunno why he went dusttale mode tho.

i think the skull is an informers head, but since papyrus wanted to cheer the monsters up cause something wrong happened (NOT THE NUKE), he got bullied and went insane, sans had to sadly kill papyrus, THEN THEY LEARNED the nuke was heading at them

Theres a lot of things I dont understand from this timeline
Sans is essentially screwed either way, so might as well do some batshit insane stuff before dying

If he can reset, he would bring back the countdown
If he just escapes he'll be killed by people and no matter if he is strong or not, if he can dodge and stuff
An army would be enough to take him down, more if he can't use KR, unless he somehow gets an attack boost to be "brutal"

with 7 souls(if he killed frisk), he can kill the whole humanity easily. monster are weak they can't even kill a human but with just a soul, a kid monster(asriel) could have killed bunch of human. by sans killing even more human, he'll keep geting stronger and stronger by absorbing the soul

I actually have theory for this: the resets we do in the game only affect the underground and everything that happens from the overworld cant be changed.

Might be wrong abt this but, Im p sure this AU happens after a possible neutral route (a pacifist one means frisk freed the underground.)
Meaning the monsters are back to square one. 0 souls. The human giving up their soul only means one lucky monster is set free from the incoming nuke.

From what I can piece together, basically, after the disappearance of the 6 humans, people started considering the place dangerous, so they set a nuke that would explode in well...27 hours, the reason as to why sans is fighting us seems to be because we gave the humans the coordinates to the underground, as sans mentions in the waterfall encounter (Exposed Lies), dunno why he went dusttale mode tho.

a human (probably frisk or something else) called the government and told them theres a big ancient species of monsters underground ready to wage war against humanity and have killed 6 human children so the government decides to nuke monsters in 27 hours so sans abandons all sense of justice and hunts the human to save monsters

i think the skull is an informers head, but since papyrus wanted to cheer the monsters up cause something wrong happened (NOT THE NUKE), he got bullied and went insane, sans had to sadly kill papyrus, THEN THEY LEARNED the nuke was heading at them
