I have a uniden R8 i was on the highway, and I got hit by laser. Gave me enough timer to slow down a little bit, but I was shocked that the radar detector caught it the R8 definitely, the best radar detector I ever had. And the most expensive, well worth it

I keep seeing issues with that system as well. It’s an option with its advantages like anything else, and it should do the job, but I’m not in love with it by any means.

If I paid $3,000+ for a laser jamming system and got a punch-through resulting in a ticket, I'd be *pissed.* I've only been hit with laser once or twice ever, there's no excuse for it not to work perfectly.
Thanks for the video. Much appreciate your honesty & integrity handling this. ALP has been the gold standard but we've all seen issues over the past couple years and it's too often been ignored.
Thanks for the video for sure. It explains why my system allowed a punch through against the dragon eye resulting in a ticket. I wasn’t happy one bit. When I lose confidence in something it takes a lot to gain it back. ALP needs to get on the stick quickly to remedy this or they will lose a 8 year customer. If they can update as quick as they did during your testing they should not have a problem updating the software as quick as tonight.
Honestly its gotten to the point that I don't firmware update until I check the forum and get a report from Vortex. I have been hit by a dragoneye before on an older version of the firmware and I haven't updated since then. It saved me then. It kinda feels like ALP is more concerned about protecting their intellectual property from getting stolen than they are about protecting my car from revenuers with badges.

It seems like Uniden is leaving a lot of money on the table by not having a more budget friendly option, especially in light of these recent results. I feel like TPX is going be the big winner here.
Oh dear. First Escort's Redline 360 now ALP dropping the ball. Industry leaders flaming out. :( Maybe the manufacturer of police laser guns bought ALP?

On the Tesla Cybertruck, what was being targeted on the vehicle? I didn't see a front license plate, and it doesn't appear to have reflective headlight housings. Man, I was so tempted to pull the trigger on the ALP, but more and more I look at the TPX system. Awesome video and 411, thanks for all that you do Ariel!
Yeah for any specifics like that, you can hop onto the forums and ask. The test shots also list who the shooters were for the different test passes.
At 3:56, where the outer jammer heads are installed is where the headlight is located.
It doesn't need to be a super reflective target. Anything newer than the turn of the millennium should lock on to the body all the way out to 2000ft+. It's only the really old 90s guns where you really want to target reflective spots for best lock at distance

If you saved the firmware file on your computer, yes. No way to get it otherwise.
@VortexRadar manufacturer really needs to make old firmware available. They've effectively *disabled* the product they sold to their customers. A class action suit would be next, if not for the fact that this is a tool to break the law 😂. Any other situation, the company would be in deep 💩 for not rectifying this immediately.

Alp quality is falling and their prices are rising, so sad might have to take Alp out and switch to Uniden R9 since I’m using Alp Netradar
do you suggest average people get laser jammers, the fastest I ever go is 90 in a 55 is it really worth it (I live in Raleigh/Wake Forest area NC and NCHP and WFPD have I believe prolaser and stalker laser.)
If you get a ticket for 90 in a 55, how much will it cost you in court costs and insurance hike over the next 5 years?
Ultimately, the choice is yours. And since you're not dealing with harder guns in NC, you don't need to shell out top dollar for the best systems.
Also, more mileage/year means more likely to get caught. Lots of jammer people do loads of driving
If you're convicted of speeding 15 miles per hour over the speed limit when you're driving faster than 55 miles per hour, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles will automatically suspend your driver's license
@@geneobrien8907 well i’ll make sure not to get caught, also the average speed on that road is 70mph so i’m not really standing out. I usually drive 75 but i’ve got 110 before usually 75-85
@@ReidsAviation I have a heavy foot myself, I just wanted to mention that in some states, they can do more than just give you a ticket. You may have already known that though. A bit off topic but in Pinellas County, Fl. they passed a new law, if you cause the police to chase you, you lose more than your license, they confiscate your car and sell it. I'd never run from a traffic stop and I think that law might cut down on dangerous car chases.

In theory for sure. They need to build something new for everyone IMO. Unless you happen to have older firmware saved from before, there’s no way to get older firmware right now.
