Lockout laws have been implemented to combat drunk violence (primarily coward punches) & everyone is essentially closed at 1:30am, causing local businesses to shut down and profiting the government by keeping a no lockout zone around one of the city's main casino's. Keep Sydney open is a movement to push lockout laws back to make sydney's nightlife better

4 kicks = a 4 step bar [ the standard on a drum machine split into 1/16 so you end up with 4 notes = 1 step color, 4 steps is a bar ]
4x 4 step bars = 4/4
this is what the beat grid will try and map in your software, and loop regions will work to by default, if music is sticking to the formula, then you will be able to break the main parts into 16 bars, before a new region starts, which is when you start to mix if your a novice, when your good to can use the 8th bar
