My group has been progging Godslayer and last day before the patch we made it to Nahvi without a death and then wiped portals because unpin wasn't working. Now everyone has lost hope, one player already quit the group and many more likely will as well, or just quit the game completely. It's so sad. Everyone is losing hope and motivation. This patch is a disaster.
Same. We got our first GS Last Patch on Console but have to geteilt again for 1 other Person. We are really struggeling now already, next Patch i think we can't get the Speedrun anymore. So demotivating... Hope u get your GS at some point
For a 8 year old game, this is absolutely ridiculous. Combat should not be flipped so drastically after all this time. Things should be in fine tune mode, not smashed... A game needs solid foundations, not be build on shifting sand. You know what happens when you build on sand? The castle crumbles. These devs need replaced
Yep, this is one of the main reasons why I left. Was sick and tired of combat and classes fundamentally changing every three months while gameplay was actively getting worse and worse with each patch, so between that, the horrible performance and the neglect of PvP, I just left the game. All in all it was a good decision as it seems like it's continued to get worse.
@@Dereliction2 to be fair ggg devs are at least smart, just out of touch. I don't play eso anymore but jfc they need to fire like the entire combat balance team for blatant incompetancy, this has been going on for years
The low end don’t feel left out anymore about having to perform because everyone else can’t perform as well hence it’s a more inclusive game when everyone can’t play the game. /s
Lol the combat team screwed up so much they have to bring in the encounter team to clean this mess... zos has amazing designers: environment, encounters, dungeons are awesome. But the combat team really need to get off those spreadsheets and play the game themselves at the level the balance is based on.
Yeah, feel sorry for the encounter team. They obviously designed their dungeons for the game before the combat team changed it to something completely different. Core combat should be refined over years and after 8 years it should be really well worked out and hardly ever change. The combat is the hallmark of ESO in the MMO gengre.
I feel like it is a combination of the combat team never having played the game and their complete disdain for the players. I think they need to revert to patch 34, fire the combat team, and hire some damn bug fixers with the money. The combat team has no vision, goal, or even a clue about what they are doing and this proves it.
it feels to me as though they really only care about people who Quest etc. they constantly release new shit for them, while the Combat Team has fun screwing people over who want to do more challenging content then daily random normal.
@@michellepartridge8558 I change for it too and it was a great surprise for me!! So much fantasy, so much rewards, so much cure for particular... Amazing game!!!
@@gamebreaker90_ I love the game, which is why seeing the dev's, especially the combat team drive it off a cliff is very depressing, on a positive note Guild Wars 2 launches on steam today! No subscription and free base game, seems like a great time to try it out.
As someone that knows nothing about devolving a game I do know one thing. Reducing dps makes things in the game harder. That we all know. So people that struggle with vet content before this patch will now find it near impossible to do vet content. My conclusion is that the devs either want to make content very difficult for people to complete or they are all literally clueless and completely out of touch with game development and the eso community
@@RatusMax But if it takes longer then that means you have to keep up with mechanics for longer which makes it harder. You got more chance now of messing up mechanics as they drag out
I want to see ZOS' spreadsheets and graphs that shows the amount of players cancelling their eso+ subscriptions and how many players have stopped playing since u35 announcement.
I had just come back to eso after a hiatus. I worked to put together a build on my sorc and was ready to start doing end game stuff again (had got my dps up to what was needed for a progression group). Soon as I read the update 35 notes I unsubscribed. My sorc got nerfed into the ground.
It's kinda surreal that I stopped playing a couple of years ago cos I was so f'n sick of stupid combat balance changes, and now it appears to be much worse. I don't get how developers with such an active and vocal veteran community can just keep getting it this horribly wrong
same boat, I check in occasionally just to see if things have gotten better and it's a real shame. I take no joy in being glad I quit years ago since in a perfect world the game would have wooed me back!
I keep watching videos in the hopes that we will all be proven wrong on how badly ZOS has fucked up this game so many love. I stopped playing weeks ago when things started looking pathetically grim. Seriously, I haven’t missed the drama, the anger and the idea of having to learn the game over again with skills, gear and everything else. Nope.. I’m out. Revert back to the way it was (which will never happen) and I’ll come back. So sad.
Nefas, you have consistently been a positive voice in ESO through the years. Watching you have this literal meltdown is pretty telling. So many people look to you for advice. If you say you don't know what to do, lots of people will be floundering. The devs have shown that they're not listening. It's like they've been given a directive and told to implement it regardless of the damage it does to the game and/or how many players quit. I'm not even on PC but I follow you. I'm not an endgame player and doubt I ever will be. But this is pretty scary for the future of the game.
Only the future of the whole "trialing" aspect. I'm in a few sweaty trialing guilds just for the guild trader and I tell ya, the amount of narcissism and toxicity and pure EGO is disgusting. So I believe the whole change is to knock down the heirarchy and bring back the base game itself. Bring the 'prestige' and monotony of trialing back down to earth. Die-hards can cry all they want but with a game so large, OF COURSE the creators can change and switch it up any which way THEY want because there will always be new waves of players, new waves of money flowing in. Sorry to sound awful, but from a casual players pov, trials and the whole max DPS is kinda...🌝😎🤣
You know its bad when hes on the stream team and actually willing to risk it to say what he thinks to get the game he loves fixed unlike most of the other streamers who just let it slip. Nice to see he'd rather speak his mind than get a free hoodie in the post.

I spent my night in BGs last night. Cancelled my ESO+ at the end of it and I’m feeling great. I wish you all the best! RIP account, Feb 27th 2014-Aug 22nd 2022
My group had just started getting into vet trials. Have a few clears under our belts. Now we just got knocked back down to square one. We had farmed trials and dungeons for weeks for gear and got all of our classes and skills aligned. Now I don't know if I have the motivation to start over. Great job ZoS....
THIS. I have never been a top tier dps that can hit 120k+. In previous patches, I hit hard enough to do HM progs (110-114k full damage, 100+ support dps). However, this patch has me afraid of exclusion. I’m not hitting top tier numbers but bosses don’t seem to have been nerfed that much. So, why would someone pick me? My core dissolved months ago in part because of change fatigue, in part because the game was starting to feel redundant for players. I can feel the change fatigue, now. I’ve changed my dps builds 4 times in the past year. It’s made the game feel more like work than a hobby. I can feel the damage nerf during this undaunted event. Pugging dungeons, you can TELL the mid range dps have been nerfed into the ground this patch. The fights are longer and the cleave is garbage. It was much more *stressful* to hit 110k on the dummy this patch… and that’s WITH the shiney new golden gear setups. Im starting to question why I should even stick around. A ton of my end game buddies have left. It feels like what’s left is just negativity in community.
I have a Disability, i play console and have managed to keep my chars ok up to now, i have not finished any of the top hard stuff, which i can accept due to my disability, i have now reached my limit on farming , grinding just to be able to have a char or chars i enjoy playing. they are taking away choices making it harder for good players what chance do i have? Many thx for your hard work Nefasqs for all you hard work. stay safe everyone i will now pop in casual for fun if thats possible
If you want positive changes quit the game. It really is that easy. Stop playing. Stop paying. I am in my yearly break from ESO right now so its perfect timing for this shit storm. Devs always listen to money, watch them buff all classes when a mass exodus happens.
That won't happen most players like myself don't care or don't get impacted and it's only mainly trials but trials is a minority of people so if most leave it won't be that dramatic. But if pve trials people don't want to play just go to final fantasy take a break of the game.
@@jgon12 It will happen, its not specific to ESO, when a huge mass of players leave the game wipl change. Casuals wont be able to complete trials, Zenimax will notice no on is doing trials, which will lead to buffs to classes or nerfs to trials, either same good for all. So just quit.
@@jgon12 I don't think you're considering that these end game players they're pissing off are the ones that have spent a lot of money on this game over the years, and up to this point have continued to do so. I personally know of plenty of players including myself who aren't even buying the crown sale right now, because why would you when you're about to leave anyway? Trust me, they'll notice end game players leaving. That, and the fact that overall traffic on dungeons and trials is taking a nosedive because of all this.
@@Doctor-Shoebill yea but also non trials players do pay too!! There is a lot of people who pay just for the story or houses or heck even the card game (not a fan of those types of pay walls)
They want this game to die at this point imo.. there’s sinister actions being taken. Nothing else makes sense about why are they are doing this. That or there are just that distant from their own game and just clueless. Either way it’s not healthy for a mmo. Especially one people have sunk money and soooooo much time into. I won’t quit till the servers turn off most likely but that’s only because I play 3 different games. It’s truly sad to see this happen… and everything you said was true.
This is exactly what I said would happen....you closed off the lower people, the opposite of what they said they wanted. Only the very best will be accepted into groups for even regular vet trials and dungeon hm's....where before 30k+ could easily fit into a vet trial.
@@Sirkento because they nerfed damage, so what use to be 30k is not anymore, it's even less. Then you consider the fact that they nerfed healers and did not lower the damage that the bosses hit you for and it equals something close to disaster. They only lowered bosses health by 10percent... they didn't actually change the bosses, so all of that equals raid leads requiring more from dps. Before you could find people willing to allow people without clears into vet trials... I just dont see that happening anymore.
@@queenstixxzz it's all going to be fine dude XD just got to coordinate a little bit more with your group and know the mechanics. It was easier than they wanted it to be before. @@Sirkento I get what you are saying about mechs, that has always been true... but this did not make things more accessible.... accessible to new players would mean not changing up the game every time a new patch comes out, so that just when you think you are getting a grasp on it, they make it different.
The entire combat team needs to be fired. The following comment got me a permanent ban from the forums: "Nope, they don't give one single shit about actually listening to our feedback. It's clear that they will only listen the minimal amount necessary to give them a shield to push through whatever their agenda is." I stand by every word.
Imagine wanting to level the playingfield by adjusting the players damage output and healing output and to mitigate that only reduce the enemy health. But... leave the incoming damage untouched. If they did anything they made the content more difficult, poor healers.

it’s really not as bad as the very select few players that are overly complaining about it are making it out to be. The only major for the entire patch is that everyone damage has been slightly reduced. Ever so slightly. That’s essentially it other than class tweaks and some small changes to ability morphs. And boss kill timers went up a little. People are literally acting like they removed a class from a the game. Played since 2014 and I’ve seen worse updates when the game was buy and pay to Play lol
@@APolishedTurd Slight damage nerf? Are you fucking kidding me? My magplar lost about 33% dps. That is not slight. Everything you said is an outright lie. I have been playing since 2014 and this is easily the worst patch yet.
@@angelicalynn1259 I can only imagine that you were playing a build that was over performing then weren’t you? Also how is that horrible if everyone else’s damage dropped in comparison and relative to the total numbers in comparison to each other all that happened was an overall numbers reduction. Example: if EVERYONES dps went down 10-30% equally depending upon the strength and power ceiling of their build then nothing changed the numbers just aren’t as high and the fight lasts longer. Increasing time to kill is the worst update you’ve seen in this game. Really? THATS WHAT YOUR GOING TO SAY IS THE WORST UPDATE IS INCREASING TIME TO KILL LOL
@@APolishedTurd I'm not even sure with your answer you play the game. Do you really want to have to take forever to kill something? No one does. People worked at getting better then assholes like you want that to all be throw away. I have done some vet trials. Those days are now over. Yes how long it takes to kill something absolutely does matter. The fact you don't seem to realize that shows me you don't understand the game at all. The longer fights take the harder it becomes as it stresses the tank and healers more. And yes this is easily the worst update and it isn't even close. There is not one bright spot in this patch. Hell if I was a dev that did the dungeons I would hate the combat team. Any good they did is overshadowed by the shit show the combat team did. Oh and I do not play a build that was overperforming. @@APolishedTurd what a stupid argument. Did you just watch the video? These are high end players in high end trials/pve. Maybe pvp it makes no difference because yea everyone's DPS has gone down but it makes a massive difference in PVE. Also its not just time to kill. Its that you have to have BIS items to do any sort of decent damage and if your not in a group all with Bis gear you simply won't be able to do end game trails.
I feel you bro. I've been playing for 7 years and when I saw this coming a month ago I said to myself, I'm done with this game until they fix it... They've been dumbing it down for over a year and now it's just garbage.
Bro I literally gave myself tendinitis one my finger practicing weaving. I hit 103k dps and now it feels like it was all for naught. I played non stop for 2 years. Got to CP 2354. So dumb
I’ll never be able to understand how nerfing damage output helps bring up the floor, all they needed to do was literally increase duration of effects and buffs to help lower skilled players to be able to do more dps, sure the top end would benefit as well but nothing can be done to raise the floor and not the ceiling. Players are to good and beginners just need to work to get better. Stop trying to make everyone good and help new players learn to be good. Add freakin training dummys and quests that teach weaving and bar management. Seriously!
In general, I'm glad that ZOS start work in this direction - decreasing difference between true keyboard smashers and casual players because it is insane. This update just a first step, will see where it will lead to.
Only game i've known where the dev team are literally at odds with the people who play their game, funny thing is it's clear as day that the dev's don't even play it themselves. I'm done ever giving ZOS money for ESO ever again, for the last 4 years all we have had is copy and paste "year of" dlc's and a dev team who ignore all performance and balance issues that they created themselves. Seems like it has now reached a boiling point where most players now also feel the same and can clearly see just how little has been done in the past few years for veteran players in exchange for trying and failing to pull in new waves of players instead.
Man, I'm so sad and disappointed with ESO. One of my best friends said that ESO is like a toxic relationship. You cling onto it always seeing the good, when the game Devs treat you like shit. Once you end it, you literally feel so much better. We just started our first hard mode prog and started with VAS+2. Hearing all this is disheartening because I only play ESO for the trials and my friends. I play FFXIV to actually unwind and have fun. ESO doesn't love you, FFXIV does

Im on the side of "why bother?". I dropped from my trial HM progs at High Isle, and started progging dungeon achievements with my friends. We are currently struggling with vFL HM. I will still give the patch a chance when it comes to console, for my group. But I really think im going to leave this game for good. I worked my ass off to hit 100k+. I dont take wasted time lightly, especially for these stupid ass reasons.
I worked to hit 100k last patch too. Took me quite a bit of practice. Now, as a mid tier player, everything just got way harder. How the fuck is that more accessible?
@@The261ride Nope. Screw this. They've literally broken this game and ruined everything that every player has worked for. All for absolutely no reason.
@@The261ride Our other dps is a sorc, so it doesnt look good. If my templar or necro drop under 70k, I will quit. Spent way too many hours learning to dps to have all progress just rendered obsolete. At least we got vDoM challenger, thats the only one I really cared about.
Update 34 was the most accessible patch I've experienced and I've raided from early 2020 until now, high damage patches make all content more accessible, by definition power creep makes content easier. The belief that nerfing people's damage in any way would make it easier for people to complete is the most backwards idea imaginable. Higher damage allows learning groups to not get a second iron atronach in vSS and lets endgame groups guarantee portal skips on Nahvi, both allow for people to get the content done. I wish the best of luck to those players sticking it out and raiding this patch but I'll be playing other games until this gets fixed.
Agreed! And I think this shows how ZOS is horribly disconnected from playing their own game. You put those people on some of the latest veteran trials without their god mode bullshit and see how far they go. They expect people to beta-test for free on PTS and even then won't properly listen to the feedback and bug reporting. They waste the time of so many dedicated players that love this Elder Scrolls world, that create and share builds, and teach others how to use them, the people that dedicate their time to get achievements, materials, sets... It's beyond disappointing.
As Guild Master and a mid-tier player that has JUST gotten into vet trials and worked my ass for months to finally hit 70k DPS.... I feel so defeated. I'm dreading when this hits consoles. If PC players are struggling, console players are going to struggle more.
I think your DPS will increase cause they are nerfing the people that break the game, people that took the waving to another lv, IDK I just don't play since april.... just my assumptions
@@thanatopathia so why people are complaining? 90k DPS its the new high! Low and mid need to train lol, after work 1 hour a day in the dummy, if the content was hard in 130k DPS imagine now....
What frustrated me so much is that their own explanation of the PvE accessibility changes was contradictory. There was nothing in any of the notes which indicated that less advanced players were going to be able to complete more advanced PvE content after this patch. Yet they kept coming back out and stating that this was the reason. A cynical person would say that they scrapped what was working for so many people just to add to the time sink, assuming that making reversions in the next patch will bring people back.
5:30 It sucks. This is also the same problems pvp players face nearly every single patch when we have the introduction to insanely overtuned sets and other issues. I didn’t want to watch you guys go through this but if you make your voices heard we probably won’t call you whiners like the pve community did to us. Good luck
This sums it up perfectly. Especially what I’ve been saying for years about the game, you grind gear to get to meta gold it transmute work on a new roto with new skills, use it for a month max by the time you get everything. Then have to start over basically with every update. They just need to leave the game be as is for 6 months at a time and maybe make minor changes to things that actually break the game. Instead of nuking everything into the group so it will “fix the meta and the gamestate”
The two main classes that I play which is Templar and Nightblade, the animations are shit and the hit markers are off. Flurry is practically useless at this point especially in a fight with a boss that moves around. Even if the boss is stationary some of the hits aren't registering. Templar jabs is just awful and even harder to weave LA now. So I canceled my ESO Plus and I guess it looks like I'm back to being DK for Main if I decide to stay.
Tbh, it might be better for the devs to revert the combat changes to recoup trust with the player base. I think we all want to see this game flourish, but it can’t when its players don’t play. Did anyone else feel like dungeon queues were longer than normal yesterday? Implementing unpolished, unpopular changes is not a good call. I log in for crafting writs, trading, and endeavors most of the time since … money. However, a dissatisfied community undermines my efforts with supply & demand shocks, fewer friends and mentors to play with, concern for the game’s future, & feelings of futility. ESO should be the happy place, but the atmosphere is as doom and gloom as real life. I just wish update 35 never happened.
They can change the core combat and lose all the players and see that as a win, but reverting the changes for the combat and adding new weapon skill lines is far too daunting for them to even do
100% agree with all the sentiments here… for us console plebs it’s going to so much worse too since we can’t even see our damage other than on a altered dummy. No breakdown of dps by skill, no way to check healing values and no way to easily get that information. There is going to be a lot of frustration in a lot of groups, both at the game and at other players because sadly information is so limited many will just blame their teammates.
The damage has been done. Their most tried and true base has quit mostly. I've said it before, and I will say it again, EQ, DOAC and WOW all did virtually the same thing and those games went straight into the ground and the games folded only to bring back the original version's years later, but it was too late. History repeats itself and now ESO is falling into the same category. They are dumbasses who flipped the middle finger at their most faithful base. Good Luck. Ashes of Creation will be out as soon as those devs get their shit together. I will try that. ESO is now trash!
hopefully AOC learns from these mistakes. I'm ready to give it a try.. the UE5 looks good and so far the game looks like it will be decent from what they've said but we all know how that goes.. promise ten things... deliver nothing
Neverwinter did the same when they released mod 16. Reworked the whole combat system and dumbed it down insanely. No one asked for it and EVERYONE hated it. Killed off 80% of their player base, including me. Why devs do this to themselves is beyond me.
@@timmmmyyyy lol yeah mod 16 was great!.. that was the point of me deleting the game, went to BDO and never looked back at neverwinter That was sad cuz I played it for years.. but oh well.. I'm disabled. Out of anyone I'd know about what accessibility is. This patch is the most inaccessible patch I've ever seen in this game. I'm someone who is in the middle ground area of content, trying to work up to endgame content. With these changes, it's now unattainable for me. Not to mention, I have to relearn everything that took me significantly longer than everyone else to learn. ZOS claiming that this is accessible is absolute bs and some kind of attempt on appearing to be inclusive.
yeah unless they update the combat team I don't see any point in coming back to the game. If they reverse some changes in update 36 they will fuck it up in update 37 again
Played my first dungeon since patch 35 launched, my heals were on full display. Tank was tanking her heart out. DPS was sooooo low. I like a rebalancing but this is too much.
I ran and completed 10 pug vet dungeons including vet dlc (all through queue). Both tank and DPS. The pledges on the day (elden 1, tempest island, and moongrave) were not mechanically hard in DPS checks (as in if you don't dps down x, you get y or flooded with z. Like too many adds, debuffs, etc.), but we died a lot. I run vet dungeon dailies pugs almost every day across several characters for years now. Unfortunately, 1 day and 10 vet dungeons is not a wide data pool to pull from, but the numbers were so ridiculous that I don't think they results will change. The low-tier players got so much worse that it barely even registers now. One person can still carry, but no one is going to want to due to the now increased length of time. If one person isn't pulling their weight and the other can't do "high" dps then you've probably doubled your time to do the same content meaning less is done overall and also meaning much less progress overall. Completely counter-intuitive that progression is going to be longer and much harder for low to even touch mid. The mid-tier players got hit VERY noticeably. I'm thinking this is due to what was common meta not performing as well, the change in dots, and a whole host of other factors. Either way looking it looks like such a drastic change is needed (gear, rotation, and skills) that barely anyone is going to have the time, resources, or even know how to figure this one out for a while if they decide to care at all given how low the numbers I've seen were. The end-game players. Well, Nefas sums up their end I feel. No one won in the content I like to run (dungeons). Absolutely no one. Outside of pug run info the self-healing sources got absolutely wrecked due to dot timer changes, lower damage for heal-based percentages of damage, and etc. all while mobs hit the same as they did before. I can't even imagine the stress of healers now for content. I imagine much less will want to play healer and, due to self-healing issues, fake healers will make situations so much worse. I can't imagine waiting in a 15 minute queue for dungeon, having a fake healer, and then having to kick them because it might become impossible for the group to manage otherwise, and then pop another 10 minute timer. Who would want to run dungeons after that?
Yep, this patch is what I call the "PRP Patch" for "Player Reduction Program" patch. When I first read the PTS notes on day one I unsubbed. I know ZOS never listens to their customers and berates us as well. When you see Rich Lambert making snide comments about the players you know they don't care at all. Me and many of my friends have been in ESO since day one. I have over 18,000 hours in the game on five accounts. I quit. I tested my builds on the PTS and it was just not fun. If the game is not fun then why spend my time in ESO? Like what Nefas did with backbar DOTs that is what I did on the PTS. All those DOTs just to get some damage and it was horrible. Sayonara ESO. It was a good 8 years. I'm now trying out GW2 with the friends that left ESO. So far I'm having fun. We ran a 50 player Raid the other night and it was unreal. I think today, the 23rd, GW2 is getting a nice adjustment across the board to all classes. Cooldowns reduced and damage increased. Everyone I know is really looking forward to it and guess what? The Devs actually talked with the player base and made these adjustments based on player input. Imagine that! Let's make the game more fun for our customers! ZOS has no idea how to manage ESO and it shows.
Sadly the development of ESO has gone downhill, for me at least, for years now. I still got my Dungeongroup to run HM Dungeons with once a week but that's it. I have been playing a lot of Guild Wars 2 over the years to make up for ESO's downward spiral and am having a lot of fun there. Guild Wars 2 is releasing on Steam today. The base game is free so there is no entry cost to check it out. You might want to give it a go to get away from ESO for a while, like I did. I am not saying quit the game but for me, playing another MMO, which made me feel better, made me appreciate the good sides of ESO more.
@@IshimuraaYT still an entry point + grind gear + learning, I don't want mid range players to get completely scared. I think the hardest hit is across middle players in this patch, those who are not very good yet but are trying. Which is sort of sad. I'm in that group too, I was able to run some HM dlc dungeons, vet trials already but now all my DDs are garbage and I need to re-grind all the gear and toons. Update is shitty but it is not the reason to give up on raid dreams.
IMO the hybrid shit is what killed this game forever. There is nothing unique not. First you had mag and stam builds now you just have the same 8 skills on every dps and 1-2 class skills usally an ultimate. What a fucking joke.
Inside DEV'S note We need to start working on ways to kill TESO from this point forward. Servers need to be reclamated back into the company for further and ongoing production on new titles
They wanted to nerf damage. “Accessibility” is a bs term they use to justify it, because no one can argue about making the game more “accessible” without looking like an asshole. It seems to me that they keep making big changes, in order to have something to work on/fix, during the next patch cycle. Seems like just basic job security. If everything was fine, they would have nothing, or very little to do.
This is the problem with ZOS, their answers to everything is an experimental table sweep. Usually at the behest to healers and dps. I’m already on my way out and I’m one of those cash cows. They killed every reason to play builds, vampires, soon classes at that. Champion system was butchered so fast after the upgrade it’s ridiculous
As a casual trying to make their way into endgame content, this is very disappointing to see. I finally got good equipment, transmuted to proper traits and learned my rotation to get to 40k dps (I know it's trash but you have to start somewhere) and now am seeing my damage dropped by half. To say I am disheartened and frustrated would be an understatement.
More than casual, but otherwise, same, man. I have 2 purples to gold-out, & then my magcro is finally done. I just started figuring out how how to animation cancel via bar swap and block, and I'm hitting about 70k. I'm on console, so it sounds like I have somewhere around a month to enjoy it. I don't know what to think.
Ouch....if endgame players like yourself are saying this....I am very afraid for the 6th of September on xbox......bye bye progs, guess I'll just go about fishing......time to prog master angler. This video felt very real, I'm glad people like you express how you actually feel bout this game
GW2 releases on Steam today. Its a decent game, good filler if youre leaving ESO (which you should). Sorry the PVE people got crapped on here, as a ESO PVP player you have my empathy. I mean if they are crapping on the PVE people then it affirms what I have been saying for years. ESO is a great game, run by a bad company.
gw2 is great. it's a more solo oriented experience sometimes but the group content is there. sad that this game is completely fucking over its playerbase and ruining its best feature which was build variety.
zos is only going to listen to dollars. stop giving them money. dont reward failure. theyre setting the game up for pay to win. nerf damage/ increase mythics. this will be the pattern from now on. bet money the next mythic will give 30% more damage and 20% healing in pve or theyll allow you to wear 2
Deadpool if that ever happens, that will the be time to start quiting the game entirely. Other MMOs like FF14, Ashes Of Creation, GW2 will be all the more worth playing.
I'd really like to see how they go about adjusting their numbers. It seems like it's not a very data-driven process. "lets just take this down by 10% here, 5% there..." like why are you doing this? And why this specific number/%?
Re-prog, respec, refarm, all in time for the next patch. This is the cycle we ALLOWED them to implement. We havent even tried to stand up to this tyranny . We must pull together as ESO plus subscibers to hit them in the wallet.
ZOS know content creators who actually are good at the game why do they not consult them instead of having some dev who snipe stacks the boss in vAA changing the end game DPS? Literally I would pay good money for 12 devs to go into any trial and clear it on vet with 1 vitality left. All they need to do is make a little end game discord channel in their official discord and then let people call them dumb af in there before they commit to anything.
Thank you for the video. I knew it was bad (we are on console). We have been raiding for 6 years as a guild on Friday. Hearing what you have to say is heartbreaking. I keep trying to have everyone hang in to see what PC had to say.. and this is not looking promising at all. Thanks for your content and all you do for the community!
Hi Pami, this is bunny6988 (Berzerkers). So sad to see how these changes are affecting teams. I know it's putting a lot of stress on leads to try to keep morale up while trying to figure out how to modify comp to keep working towards goals. I only started hitting 100k+ this year and it's looking like I may not see that again for a while post Update 35. Best of luck to you.
For people that dont play pvp its not any better either. aside from maras balm being broken people are tanky as fuck and as a good player i feel damn near immortal but have to pressure people down with very little pressure. So bad in there too
I need to understand why all of these companies are intentionally doing thing that people don't want. Something weird is going on. Like EVERY BIG COMPANY IN LIKE EVERY INDUSTRY dude are all burning themselves to the ground.
To me it’s quite concerning and I question there understanding of the game, if their goal was to make it more accessible and what they actually do is make it less accessible than ever. If the Devs don’t play the game enough to understand how changes will effect things than at least they could listen to those who do.
Zos needs revert the last two patches because I believe high isle and lost depths are the worst patches ever. I think turning tides was the best patch because everything was viable, damage was insane, new players could get good damage quickly and it was accessible to everyone.
They need to, but won’t. They will slowly increase damage of some skills over the next few patches. Probably take them a year to get things half way “accessible” again.
So sad to see the direction ESO is heading, played it with all my heart for almost 8 Years. My GF thought about going back to ESO but now it will be hard pass for her. They had ESO a couple times in a really good shape for casuals and hardcore players(sure it never was perfectly balanced), dont know why they need to change stuff all the time.
Its mmo Marketing bullshit, basically "keep them busy and keep them in the game with the least amount of costs for the company" Problem is they focus so hard on it that it tires ppl out and now that it is the "normal" state of the game its hard to do anything about it because that is a decision that would reduce profit and is therefore not in the Interest of the investors. They basically turned themselves into a train that broke it breaks and is heading towards a broken bridge while going faster and faster with each second. Its a sad story and one that we will see more and more the next years with the whole sector focusing on the "game as a service" Concept. Only thing we can do is pray to RNGesus to have mercy with our poor gamer souls.
I have to agree I just started playing a magpar and I was super impressed with the damage and the sustainability/self-healing that was available and now I literally don't even want to play it anymore. I logged on after the Patch played for about 45 minutes and jumped off and went to another character instead they killed the magpar
I quit when Elden Ring came out, knowing ER wasn't a mmo replacement, just something to wean off the patch/nerf cycle nightmare I was obsessed with pvp on my necro that i had over 4k hours on, Adastra was a great/competitive top tier pvp guild...some salty fuks, and some legit amazing people that I truly miss. I dont miss it enough to go through this drama. Call me tarnished and smack my ass. Ill never give another dime to ZOS.
Honestly, I would like to see the devs or whoever at Zos that came up with these ideas for accessibility on streams playing their own game. At this point, Fk streamers at quakecon, I didn't watch it. I would have watched every minute of a team made of the devs, without "dev superpowers", run the new trial with the changes they gave us this patch.
My core might have to dissolve. A community we've worked so hard to build for years. We did GH, IR, all hard modes apart from vDSR (including vRG) on console. We're at 33 vitality in 26 mins in our Dawnbringer prog. Our next prog is supposed to be Godslayer. It's looking unlikely that we'll be able to do that next patch. We've already replaced 3 people since the update was announced, and will have to replace two more on 6 September when it drops on console. I can't ask people to wait 2 months until next patch when they unshit the bed. People will quit or move onto other things. It's so frustrating and sad.
Yh us console players are getting screwed over even more and it's super frustrating to know that dps nerf across the board has been implemented in response to insane scores pulled by one-two top PC teams, scores that are completely out of reach for 99.9% of overall community. I myself luckily managed to clear vrg hm with my current group, but even without any death on last floor we were extremely close to wiping, it was a matter of milliseconds 😅 Even though the team is v. good, all with multiple trifectas etc, still with bad clone position rng shit was super tight. Can't even start to imagine clearing it after the patch. "Accessibility" XD big rip.
It's fun trying to explain to mid level players that their dps didn't 'only' decrease by x% (because of dummy receiving more buffs), they don't care as long as the dummy number looks good. Explaining that healing was nerfed even though the top of the patch notes say the coefficient of healing went up for ground hots (stickies are ripped) because they didn't scroll down to their class heal/illustrious springs changes is also great
Accessibility could have been done by focusing on making fully charged heavy attack builds viable (unique morphs for that play style, adjusting fully charged heavy attacks etc). They could have even experimented with some of the cast time spells that exist. All these other changes were so unnecessary. Fingers crossed things will improve while I'm taking a bit of a break from this game lol.
Man your frustration hurts. I took a break from the game and while i miss the groups I played with I haven’t had any desire to play again. Such a bummer. I’d started playing again before the patch to try and get back in the swing of things and my raid group told me they were taking a break lol.
Taking a break from raiding is the same as taking a break from the entire game. People have past the need to shut off their brains to pick flowers, pvp is well...pvp, and the story isn't good enough to be completely engaged with questing. Raiding has to be the only real content in ESO that keeps your brain from shutting down.
No man there's plenty ways of playin the game. I raid only when I need trials gear for Pvp. Pvp is the slice of the game that keeps me interested. nevertheless this patch hurts me too in that sense. no offense peace
I was thinking coming back the game after couple months but, AGAIN, ridiculous update and again for NO REASON nerf on templars....I am done with this game for good !
This is what happens when you want everyone to be the same. They said they didn't like the obscene damage better groups were doing, but what they meant is they don't want the lower tier people to complain that the good groups won't carry them to achievements
I wanted to try vet trials for the first time, but clearly no one is going to want to be patient with a new player when DPS is already nerfed. How is this bringing accessibility?
I always knew that once ZOS successfully destroyed PVP creativity they would target PVE players. They despise players that are skillful in all areas of the game.
The only thing that makes any sense to why this happened is because MisticMMo joined the combat team. Look, we knew it was bad at the release of week one pts. I was done then but waited till week three. Once week three dropped I was out for good. Gave my gold away and deleted the game. That’s the question…. Why bother? I couldn’t find any reason too. And I’m just sick of chasing my tail with this game.
I have a weekend planesbreaker prog this weekend and I’m terrified to go in there. Update 34 we had multiple 30+ vit clears and now I dont know how it’ll look.
I think I am done with this game. Started back in April again after 8 years, worked two weeks on a build -> Update came and made it useless.. worked three months on a pve and pvp build and now update 35 came and made it useless again.. I am through with this.
Watching this video 2 weeks after, getting up to date with the game, wanting something else to play after the ALSO fuck up from the POE devs on the current league... this makes me sad :(
I'm a fairly new player, about a year now. And I really enjoyed the game. I'm not good at doing damage but now it's even harder. They did this to help players like me but they did the opposit. I'm cancelling my eso plus and going to try a new game. I'm already downloading guild wars and wow. It's sad cause I liked eso now it's frustrating me
@@BadMomsBenjiI second this viewpoint. I've played FF and it's fun. Guild Wars was fun. Dont have much time in GW2, so I can't say about it. But everything Ive seen from the WOW community has been bitchkng at devs for fucking it up over and over.
@@seifer447 yep FF does not even do the right thing sometimes but they have the luck that every other MMO sucks rn so even if it's sometimes feels bad it still feels 100 times better than WoW 😂🥳
It's ironic how ZOS says they are trying to appeal to the casual player. The problem is the casual player can't play it much because everytime we get on, something changes. I use to play all the time. Now that I work 60 hours a week and have extra money to spend, ZOS makes it miserable because I'm constantly having to grind all over. Old school players would stay with the game for years if we don't have to change builds every 3 months. I have 13 characters and only have time to play one right now. Stop being greedy. They get money for a full game every year and a plus account.
How to kill your own game
Step 1: dont play it yourself
Step 2: dont listen to the Community
I switch to ESO because all players said that devs listen and there is no gear threadmill. Now I switch out - this same reason oposite...

All I can say is thank you ZO$ for making a patch so bad that I now go outside and do things rather than play ESO all day. 🙏

Just learn mechanics
For a 8 year old game, this is absolutely ridiculous.
Combat should not be flipped so drastically after all this time. Things should be in fine tune mode, not smashed...
A game needs solid foundations, not be build on shifting sand.
You know what happens when you build on sand? The castle crumbles.
These devs need replaced
Preach; a path of exile dev put it very similar to this and I agree
Yep, this is one of the main reasons why I left. Was sick and tired of combat and classes fundamentally changing every three months while gameplay was actively getting worse and worse with each patch, so between that, the horrible performance and the neglect of PvP, I just left the game. All in all it was a good decision as it seems like it's continued to get worse.

One of them use to gilliam the rouge which is crazy he was hired a few years back
I feel like it is a combination of the combat team never having played the game and their complete disdain for the players. I think they need to revert to patch 34, fire the combat team, and hire some damn bug fixers with the money. The combat team has no vision, goal, or even a clue about what they are doing and this proves it.
I gave up because they seem to not care about the community.
it feels to me as though they really only care about people who Quest etc. they constantly release new shit for them, while the Combat Team has fun screwing people over who want to do more challenging content then daily random normal.

If they did release a spread sheet do you think they would really show how many people are leaving the game… nope lol
I had just come back to eso after a hiatus. I worked to put together a build on my sorc and was ready to start doing end game stuff again (had got my dps up to what was needed for a progression group). Soon as I read the update 35 notes I unsubscribed. My sorc got nerfed into the ground.

Because they treat players like the enemy and fight for their "vision" when their vision is leading the game to the grave

Damn, a meltdown tho? Lol

This is exactly what I said would happen....you closed off the lower people, the opposite of what they said they wanted. Only the very best will be accepted into groups for even regular vet trials and dungeon hm's....where before 30k+ could easily fit into a vet trial.
@Radical Centrist God Very true. Still baffles me after all these years that a game company can be this disconnected from their player base.
Y won't 30k work anymore...?
@@Sirkento because they nerfed damage, so what use to be 30k is not anymore, it's even less. Then you consider the fact that they nerfed healers and did not lower the damage that the bosses hit you for and it equals something close to disaster. I feel you bro. I've been playing for 7 years and when I saw this coming a month ago I said to myself, I'm done with this game until they fix it... They've been dumbing it down for over a year and now it's just garbage.
Jep....
bro they have been dumbing it down since one tameriel this is just the end result of "Accessibility" a game made for everyone but loved by no one
Bro I literally gave myself tendinitis one my finger practicing weaving. I hit 103k dps and now it feels like it was all for naught. I played non stop for 2 years. Got to CP 2354. So dumb
same here, over champion 2000 and played daily and because of update 35, I quite the game and been playing other games.
I bet you’re still playing eso today tho. Lol
Seriously!

You proved yourself to be more capable than the entire combat team of ZOS 👌
ESO doesn't love you, FFXIV does
No Game does love you... If you think this is true you havent been in the gaming market long enough.

You can do it! My team did it when they could only hit 35k - 40k DPS on a 6m dummy! It's tough and will take time, but don't give up!
@@Doctor-Shoebill lol fair enough, I quit the game 2 years ago
My guild completely disbanded after the patch...so many player left the game after this patch
@@DarkGifrit no….that’s not how this works. Everyone’s damage is decreased, ESPECIALLY low and mid tier.
There needs to be some accountability. Sackings and resignations down the line.

New Templar jabs is so bad... wow. I thought the same thing that weaving felt worse now.
I'll admit, I find myself burning more magical on sweeps in this patch. Like its juust enough to be noticeable..

See y'all in update 36 if it gets any significant improvement
yeah unless they update the combat team I don't see any point in coming back to the game. If they reverse some changes in update 36 they will fuck it up in update 37 again
@@demetronix I agree, they need a new combat team because the current one is failing on so many levels
😂

The sad thing is the idiots at ZOS see all the negative feedback and still decided to push this bullshit patch.

It's fun trying to explain to mid level players that their dps didn't 'only' decrease by x% (because of dummy receiving more buffs), they don't care as long as the dummy number looks good. Explaining that healing was nerfed even though the top of the patch notes say the coefficient of healing went up for ground hots (stickies are ripped) because they didn't scroll down to their class heal/illustrious springs changes is also great
They'll care when they can't kill enemies in dungeons.

Wow. Nefas AIN'T chill...
I think I am done with this game. Started back in April again after 8 years, worked two weeks on a build -> Update came and made it useless.. worked three months on a pve and pvp build and now update 35 came and made it useless again.. I am through with this.
Left ESO almost 2 years ago for FFXIV and having much more fun. Gamers should avoid any game with RNG loot boxes!!!
It's sad cause I liked eso now it's frustrating me
Guild Wars is good and Try FF... don't play WOW they are the same as ESO driving their game against the wall.
@@BadMomsBenji oh ok thanks
